Oh and scan details: crown to rump length was 70mm, placed me at 13+2, nuchal measurement was 1.9mm and will receive a phone call within 3 days if bad news... letter in 10 days if good news.

riskit4abiskit · 22/02/2013 21:50

waves hello! May I join?

Due approx. 16th Sept - scan 28th Feb, like a few others I think!

So far haven't been sick (yet) but have had constant cold / flu like aches and am all snotted up. have terrible dry mouth all night long, and dh says that my snoring is even worse than usual.

congrats to all those with positive results, makes me feel better, as i am a bit apprehensive as I know a lot of people who have miscarried after 12wks and that's those I know about. fingers crossed anyway.

I have been researching prams and like the look of a jogger mini city gt? any experience of this product anyone, keeping an eye on ebay just in case one pops up.

pleased to meet you all!

chocciemousse · 22/02/2013 22:18

Hello. Well finally had my scan this afternoon. I have been dated 6 days earlier so I am 12+4. My crl was 61.6mm. Everything looked normal and the baby was wriggling around a lot! It was so amazing. I can't wait for my 20 week scan now.

CharlW1 · 22/02/2013 22:27

frogchops it sounds like you might have a urinary tract infection. If it stays the sameI would give the hospital a call. Nothing to worry about but if it hurts when you wee then it could be a UTI which is very painful.

lots of hugs and I hope you feel better soon.

Creamtea1 · 22/02/2013 23:48

Second that vote on UTI frogchops - I had a UTI which developed into a kidney infection when pregnant with ds1 around 14 weeks. Started as backache then the pain got worse and more severe, I was sick with a high temperature. Went to the maternity unit to get it checked and they admitted me for 2 nights. Definetly go to out of hours tomorrow and get it checked - they can tell from wee sample and blood.

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 23/02/2013 00:07

Frogchops - they don't even need bloods for uti diagnosis. Just a dipstick of urine sample. V common in 1 st trimester - my pal had one.
Don't wait tho, get seen by ooh drs or call 111.

frogchops · 23/02/2013 03:54

After a bit if googling, which I no I shouldn't do.... It seems people have had this due to growing uterus affecting the emptying of bladders and poss causing infection. I've already had one uti and I'm only 10 weeks! Grrrr. But thanks, I'll go to the ooh today :-/.

jennimoo · 23/02/2013 06:40

I agree a uti can be that painful and feel like uterus: had terrible pain and couldn't sleep with it when DD was 3 months. Thought it was my periods coming back with a vengeance so didn't get it checked at first.

Go get it checked!

flipflump · 23/02/2013 08:13

There's now a November 2013 thread!!!!!!! We've come such a long way already, even though the weeks are dragging. I'm 11 + 3, does anyone think it will speed up beyond 12, when the secrets out?

flipflump · 23/02/2013 08:14

Thank you for all opinions on home birth, good to look at the bigger picture. Lots to think about!

frogchops · 23/02/2013 08:19

Am going to try drinking LOTS today. I know I don't drink nearly enough (yesterday about 2 glasses all day) so I need to sort that out which might help. I dread going to the toilet, as the 10 minutes after are vile. It doesn't hurt after that just a bit crampy. It's catch 22 if I'm gona drink lots though!! Confused

kimjayne · 23/02/2013 08:21

Okay, is there anyone else out there who's still feeling quite un-pregnant? I have no visible bump and all sickness and soreness has eased. My Dh thinks Im being mental but I just feel like there's nothing there. Thursdays scan feels so far away. Sorry to moan, I hope you are all having a lovely relaxing Saturday! And big congrats to all those with lovely healthy scans. Xxx

frogchops · 23/02/2013 08:26

Oohh this is also wind pain....Christ i can feel that!! BlushBlush

frogchops · 23/02/2013 08:31

Kimi, I have spells like that, where I've felt it's all gone...but then it returns. I've had no sickness at all, not even felt queasy. I can only go by sore boobs!

kimjayne · 23/02/2013 08:39

My boobs are fine, they haven't hurt much to be honest. They were sore at the very start but eased off before I'd even had my private scan at 8.5 weeks. I met a friend last night who's 15 weeks and she looks like she's smuggling a football under her top. I know it's her 2nd though so she will show much sooner than me. But just put me on edge. Felt like a fraud say beside her.

kimjayne · 23/02/2013 08:43

By the way frogchops, definitely try to persevere with drinking lots of water! It really helps. Last time I got a urinary infection I drank so much water that when the doctor asked for a water sample the liquid looked like I'd just poured straight from the tap. Dr said it was literally the best thing to do. Still got some anti biotics but it just helps flush things out I guess.

Toptack · 23/02/2013 10:29

jennymoo the background risk is the average risk for women of your age, the adjusted risk is your personal risk based on scan, bloods etc. So your figures are great Smile

I had my 12 week scan done yesterday at the Fetal Medical Centre in London - if anyone needs to have scans/tests done privately for any reason I would highly recommend it. I was scanned by a specialist Dr who took about 30 minutes, making lots of additional checks, and blood results were available on the spot. All much more reassuring than my local clinic, who failed to notice I was carrying twins on an earlier scan! Definitely only bubba viable now though, but that little one is looking bouncy and healthy.

Lots of luck to everyone having scans next week.

jennimoo · 23/02/2013 10:47

Thanks top tack that was just what I wanted to know. I'm a bit geeky about probabilities and stats so being posted a report with no explanation was driving me a bit mad!

Belvedere · 23/02/2013 10:56

riskit4abiskit - My sister has 'nearly' 4 kids and highly recommends the baby jogger as do lots of her friends. Its far more reasonable than other pushchairs and easy to fold and push. im defo getting one.

My stats were: 13 weeks at scan - crown to rump 68 mm and nuchual was 1.3mm so all good. less than 6 weeks till my 20 week scan now, so exciting and all happening so quickly

Good luck to those still waiting for scans - its worth the wait :)

BinarySolo · 23/02/2013 11:05

Nuchal measurement for me was 2.2. Must admit I feel a bit nervous and can't wait for the blood results.

riskit4abiskit · 23/02/2013 11:28

Kim- I have had hardly any symptoms apart from dry mouth so don't feel pregnant either. Hope there is actually a baby there!

MeanMrsMustard · 23/02/2013 11:34

Binary - my nt was 2.3 too, and I was given an adjusted risk of nearly 1:15000. I'm sure you will be ok.

BinarySolo · 23/02/2013 11:39

Thanks mrsmustard. That's good to know. I think I'm worrying more because I'm 35 this year.

Dh has decided on this basis that this baby should be our last. Sad

EmmaDee · 23/02/2013 12:09

Hello to all the newbies,

I need some help, have to go to a family dinner tonight, I've already played the I'm on the antibiotics card about 2 weeks ago to explain my lack of boozing!! Any other ideas for white lies I could tell them?? Bearing in mind I normally drink my weight in wine at these things (believe me you need to!!)

Belvedere · 23/02/2013 12:22

EmmaDee - I had to go to a wedding a few weeks ago, non of my family even noticed I wasnt drinking. I held a wine glass for most of the night and pretended to drink it (even though nothing passed my lips)
Now ive told them all im pregnant they said they would have never guessed. Sometimes we worry too much and try to think of lies when we dont need too :)
Good luck!
