Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

Hooray, scan was great, or rather, scans were great - had a right laugh with the sonographer because the baby was curled up trying to sleep (DH is thrilled at the prospect of another good sleeper!), and she couldn't get a good length measurement until it straightened out. I was having to jump around, wiggle about and eat chocolate to get it moving so we got to see it in loads of positions. So cute! At one point it looked like it was doing that thing where dogs run in their sleep! Lots of waving and spinning about too.
Anyway, have been dated at 13+2, rather than 12+3, so new EDD is 28th August.
Good luck Choccie and glad yours went well Kamikazee!

SGJ · 22/02/2013 15:48

Oh and after all that uproar about the cost of photos, we must have been so likeable as she printed them out for free! 4 photos so £20 to spend on baby stuff!!

Creamtea1 · 22/02/2013 17:11

Lovely scan news! :)

SJG did you have an idea your edd by your last period was wrong? I will be so chuffed if they brought mine forward by a week but as I didn't get bfp until cd30 I don't think they will.

I told my boss yesterday. He took it really well, really pleased for me. Not so pleased about the staffing issues it causes (out of a team of 4 he already has 1 on mat leave without having found cover & I'll be off at the same time as her). He offered not to tell hr/his boss until I'm ready (after my 12wk scan at least) & then proceeded to take the piss out of me not drinking for the rest of the day/eve (I have a bit of a rep).

I think he's secretly quite glad to have the advance warning so that he can have a plan ready to present to his boss the minute it's official- if I know him as well as I think he'll start changing the way he talks from now so that when I officially say something it'll look like he was so clued up on his team that he knew this might happen. Lol, such a good politician....but it works in my favour as he's going to keep my secret for me :-)

KamikazeeKid · 22/02/2013 17:49

My crl was 60.0m whats everyone elses, I've been placed at 12+3 (not 4 like I posted earlier)

My nuchal was 1.7mm waiting for bloods

MeanMrsMustard · 22/02/2013 18:06

Thanks Kami.
I was put at 13w exactly (apparently I would have been 13+2 going by lmp). The crown to rump measurement was 6.8cm.

frogchops · 22/02/2013 18:25

Well I have another 3 whole weeks to wait o I'm sooo jealous. Am worrying though as I've developed real tightening in my abdomen, which feels sooo right when I wee, its like real pressure on my bladder or like something's really stretched. Have also got constant cramping. Am quite worried but trying to be calm. Fail.

frogchops · 22/02/2013 18:26

Haha so tight when I wee.... Not right. How odd did that sound!! Anyway, its almost painful. Boooo

jennimoo · 22/02/2013 18:30

I was due 1st sept by my dates, and was charting, opking etc so fairly sure of ovulation. I was moved forward by 6 days to 26th sept at the scan. I guess my bean just got implanted and grew extra fast.

Got my nucheal results a couple of days ago. It says low risk which is great, but I don't quite understand the probabilities, don't know if anyone understands it better: background risk is 1:764, adjusted 1:15275 nucheal translucency 1.5mm. Just wondering why the two risks are so different? Does the background one just take into account the non-scan stuff?

And my crl was 59.2 at 12+3

LittleMrsExpecting · 22/02/2013 18:32

Hi everyone and congratulations! I'm expecting number 1 and had my scan this week, due 3 September. Am still mesmerised about what we saw on the screen! I agree, roll on the second trimester! x

LadyFlumpalot · 22/02/2013 18:45

Hello, may I join you?

I'm currently 10+4, due on the 17th September.

I miscarried rather dramatically (in a carpark!) at 10+5 in November so am feeling rather delicate at the moment, however, I also feel so much more pregnant this time. I also have a dear darling little boy who is 2 and 2 months old.

sjclarke86 · 22/02/2013 18:57

Hi All. I'm new here. Hubby and i are Expecting our first baby sept 24th. I had my first m/w appointment on Tuesday so I am waiting for my scan date to come through. I really do hope it's not too a long await it feels like forever. I'm sure there isn't anything but does anyone have anything that takes your mind of being pregnant and not thinking about it every second. Luckily I'm only sick in the mornings and feel sick if I let myself get hungry, so eating a lot at the moment. Eek. Already gained about 4lbs, what about everyone else?

Thanks all.

X

KamikazeeKid · 22/02/2013 19:01

with ds1.....at 13+3 I was 72.7mm crl and 2.6mm nuchal combined with bloods was low risk

Im so pleased my wriggler was so wriggly.

Fingers crossed for everyone's scans and good nuchal readings,

Anyone know the risk info depending on your ethnic background?

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 19:31

frogchops worry with me. I'm fairly sure it's normal, and after yesterday's agony I'm sure my bump is bigger today. I've had a few sessions like this, they seem to be 3 or 4 days apart, and pre-empt a growth spurt. This is the third set I think. Last a day or two then subside. Also had the abdominal tightening. I find sitting with my legs out or lying down eases it magically. You can always take paracetamol - the first time it happened that really helped as I calmed down when the pain eased. I've tried to avoid it since but I really should have done yesterday rather than suffering.

Try not to worry, for once, google will tell you it's just stretching pains, and is normal. Smile

Readytosettle · 22/02/2013 19:40

Just watching this weeks one born & crying my eyes out at those kids with the twins....awesome reactions to their new siblings :-)

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 19:52

ready it was lovely, wasn't it? They were a lovely family. It was the first OBEM we've watched. DH is still a bit traumatised Wink

frogchops · 22/02/2013 19:59

Thanks dietcoke...altho I just got up (to dish up takeaway curry Blush) and was doubled up with the stretching pain. Was as if there's and elastic band in there which reeeeally hurts when stretched. All I did was stand up. Confused

nerual · 22/02/2013 20:03

welcome LadyFlumpalot! There are a few of us on here I think that are pg after mc, definitely feeling very fragile until 12w scan! Mine is only on 25th March, so ages away. Mc in a parking lot does indeed sound dramatic, sorry for your loss :(
There is also a pg after mc thread that you can join if you need extra support (www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1632378-Pregnant-after-a-miscarriage-as-the-bumps-get-bigger-we-get-braver-1st-2nd-or-3rd-trimester-and-even-graduates-cuddling-there-babies-reasurance-and-hand-holding-aplenty)

Manoodledo · 22/02/2013 20:10

My mum has made me the most beautiful baby blanket! It's in boy colours but she's already started on a girls version. So touched. Perhaps she's trying to make up for her inital reaction (which was a little subdued let's say).

Frogchops I've been having what I'd describe as tightenings too. I think I remember it from previous pregnancies, so I'm not particularly worried. Also, I'm totally feeling this baby moving today. I felt movement from the same time last time and I remember the sonographer at the 12 week scan totally pooh-poohed it, but having experienced it before it's totally unmistakeable. Scan on Monday. Excited but oddly nervous.

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 20:30

frogchops I know... I guess the ligaments are like elastic bands in a way. I've gone all foetal on the sofa, just can't get comfortable. Developed a lovely throbbing fanjo in the last hour. Classy...

frogchops · 22/02/2013 21:03

I'm so worried that the mw said to only be worried when my cramps have me doubled up. And I literally am, all scrunched up on the sofa, scared to straighten out cos it hurts! Having a wee hurts now too.

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 21:06

Do you have the phone number for a maternity triage team at the hospital? Might be worth giving them a call so they can tell you it's all a bit extreme, but probably fine? No spotting or bleeding? Have you tried paracetamol?

SGJ · 22/02/2013 21:12

Welcome new ladies, hooray, more preggy friends! (my phone wanted to correct that to 'pretty friends', which I'm sure is also accurate!
Creamtea, we didn't do ovulation kits so wasn't sure when I usually ovulated, but based on when we tried, I knew it would either stay almost the same or go forward by a good few days - so obviously the first attempt was successful!! (DH is feeling v smug)
