Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

Cheese, I asked the sonographer who said 14 weeks is the start of the 2nd trimester. I'm going to claim that as 3 months pregnant as well as I will be 6 months away from due date. I think when working out months we need to subtract the first 2 weeks, but other than that it's roughly 4 weeks = 1 month. I could be wrong though!

Dorita75 · 22/02/2013 07:14

Good luck today's scan ladies!!

Horrible isn't it Charl I've actually taken last 3 days off work as can't face being in office feeling and being so sick. Felt guilty but then, I've had no time off sick over this pregnancy so far and am taking it as leave.

Is there any one else who has to scroll quickly past any mention of food? I only eat to stop myself feeling sick these days and really want a lolly ice at this moment, maybe an ice cube would do?

11wks today....scan next Fri at 9.20...

frogchops · 22/02/2013 07:53

Yes cheese, together. I no it's wrong in normal circs, but was so nice!!

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 07:59

I've admitted defeat and am going to buy maternity trousers and jeans this weekend. Am employing an elastic band on my jeans today to make them comfortable.

Have had awful stretching pains for the last day. I know they're normal, especially with twins, but they properly freak me out because they feel so much like period/miscarriage pains. Keep nipping to the loo to check!!

KamikazeeKid · 22/02/2013 08:30

Good luck fellow scan buddies today! 50 mins to go.

Anyone want to come and change DS nappy!??

Hubby not back for another half hour but can't leave it!!!

Vom time

BinarySolo · 22/02/2013 09:38

You're in your own there, kamikazee. Have already changed my ds's pooey nappy AND picked up dog crap off the kitchen floor, which really made me heave.

Creamtea1 · 22/02/2013 09:40

Good luck all today's scan ladies - hoping to hear some more twin news! :)

Oooo, I go AWOL for a few days and there's a new thread and all sorts. Hope everyone ok, good luck with scans today. I have first appointment with anyone on Monday, I'll be 10 weeks. Then they'll give me a date for first scan. I've booked a private nuchal at ultrasound now in Stockport for 11th march. They take the bloods the week before, so they can give you the combined result when you go in for your scan.
In other news, green Tabasco on everything!

KamikazeeKid · 22/02/2013 09:55

BEST SCAN EVER!!!! Gone from 11+3 to 12+4 tho....I must have ov very early!!!
I had a trainee so had a proper scan tutoring took10 mins then another 10mins with trainee
A real wriggler
Now just wait for results

badguider · 22/02/2013 10:15

Last day of keeping schtum for me Smile - we're off skiing in the morning and will tell the people we're staying with.. then scan the Monday we're back.

Can't wait to see if everything's ok and either a) tell everybody if it is, or b) throw myself into drinking wine and doing lots of extreme sports again to block it out if it's bad news.

MeanMrsMustard · 22/02/2013 10:39

Aw, congrats kami! How big was the wriggler? (am curious to what dates others are given to go with crown rump length)

BinarySolo · 22/02/2013 11:18

When I said to the songrapher that I was only 1 day out with EDD last time and 2 days this time so I must be pretty good with my dates, she said my dates were probably more accurate than mine!!

chocciemousse · 22/02/2013 11:24

Kami that is great news about the scan! Fingers and toes crossed whilst you wait for the results.

Good luck to the rest of today's scan buddies! I can;t believe I have to wait until 4pm. So soon yet so long to wait.

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 13:07

badguider have an amazing time!

kami brilliant news Smile

JammyTummy · 22/02/2013 13:18

Has anyone looked at buggies yet? I know it's early days but I've been doing some research into travel systems, and really had my eye on the SilverCross Surf. I was so shocked when it dawned on me this morning that its £150 cheaper in mothercare than in Jojo Bebe!
I hastily got back on the Jojo website to confirm that I wasn't making things up, and they've reduced the price from £599 to £509! Which is still £60 more expensive! Pah!

So so pleased with everyone's baby scan news! Amazing !

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 22/02/2013 13:40

kilkers can't promise anything like that at this point GrinGrin

Kittenkatzen · 22/02/2013 13:45

Congrats/good luck (delete as appropriate!) to all today's scan ladies!

jammy we've actually already bought our buggy and foot muff and moses basket and car seat and bouncy chair Blush....got a bit carried away in the January sales. Got a brilliant deal though! We went for the Mamas & Papas Mylo, and everything i just mentioned for basically the list price of the buggy (around £650). I have a friend with a silver cross (not sure which model) will ask her for an opinion if you like, once I've told her I'm upduffed obv! :)

JammyTummy · 22/02/2013 13:56

Yeah that would be good kitten! I've heard people complain about it having a very small basket but its something I'm willing to accept. I gave one a very, very sneaky push in mothercare a few weeks back (all the while looking over my shoulder to check no one I knew had magically appeared behind me) and it felt like a dream! So smooth and glidey!
I'm really looking forward to being able to go to baby shops without looking like I've just nicked something! Three more days!

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 22/02/2013 14:25

More spotting today, and had to do a 4 hour journey on public transport alone with two kids, who were both feeling travel sick. I feel extremely sorry for myself! Would hot-foot it to the hospital and camp at EPU until they scan me, but am alone with the kids who don't know yet. Woe is me!

andadietcoke · 22/02/2013 14:30

mynameis is there anyone that could take care of them? My local EPU opens very briefly on a Saturday morning - could that be an option? Saying that though, it is very common, and if there's no pain I'm sure everything's okay. It's just nice to have that reassurance though isn't it? Sounds like you've got lots to distract you though!!

Girraferama · 22/02/2013 14:33

mynameis - sorry to hear you've got more spotting. Mine has stopped but even though I keep telling myself its nothing to worry about, I had a sleepless night last night. Can you phone your midwife to see what she thinks?

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 22/02/2013 14:42

anda - I could probably ask a friend, but we've just got back to Derby from London, and all they want to do is flop in their onesies, so would feel very cruel uprooting them. Also, being sensible I know I've had spotting both times before, I know I've no pain of any sort, belly is nice and soft, and that nothing I can actually do will make any difference either way. I think I'm probably just better off resting up over the weekend, and if it carries on I'll phone my mw on Monday and try to get seen then.

Girrafe - hope you manage some sleep tonight, and really glad yours has stopped.

Eeeknumber3 · 22/02/2013 14:47

mynameis so empathise with you. I had a teeny bit of spotting earlier in week, but couldn't do anything about it as my two off on half term and I've still not told them. Nightmare. Anyway, it did stop. Been also feeling sorry for myself, as this week seems to have been non stop activities for half term and I've felt exhausted and very, very sick!

SGJ · 22/02/2013 15:05

1 baby, curled up fast alseep! Have been told to go for a walk and have some chocolate to wake it up, love this sonographer!

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 22/02/2013 15:07

Eeeek, I would recommend a stiff gin for both of us in normal circs, but perhaps not eh? Don't think I could face one anyway bleurgh. In some ways it's much easier having older kids than when I was pg with a toddler, but the whole having to act normal around them is really, really hard. Still, at least they are a distraction from the constant worry!

We normally go to London in school hols as MIL has a flat there. Normally I absolutely love it, and we have a whale of a time, but this time I just wanted to curl up in a ball and stay there all week, not go to the festival I'd booked tickets for and trail around the Tate Modern! At least there is plenty of food that I don't have to cook available 24-7 in London!
