Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

water - loads and loads and loads.... i think i managed about 4litres in a day when i was having issues and have tried to do at least 2l a day since then as well as other drinks and am mostly ok so far (fingers crossed).

scan in an hour here... very nervous!!!

jennimoo · 04/03/2013 12:06

I couldn't manage the prune juice either. I've been ok since having norovirus though ;)

HettySunshine · 04/03/2013 12:37

Good luck badguider. Can't wait to compare notes this afty. Xx

frogchops · 04/03/2013 12:41

I knew my lack of drinking wouldn't have helped issues. Am still drinking my smoothies and an abundance of coconut butter cake made yesterday

frogchops · 04/03/2013 12:43

Oh yes....good luck with the scans girls.....can't believe mine is still 11 days away and not only 11 days, but at 3pm Confused

andadietcoke · 04/03/2013 12:46

frogchops I think fruit and barley squash has sorted me out. I can't stomach water at the moment; it just comes back up, so have been drinking squash instead Smile

Creamtea1 · 04/03/2013 13:13

Coconut butter cake sounds immense...mmm
I had improved poo patterns since a bit of a tummy bug, but now that's tailed off it's been a few days again. I need to try the actimel tip as just can't do the prune juice without heaving, yuck.
Have been having lemon boiled sweets when that sick/hungry feeling hits - figured it is better than my previous 8 meals a day and have managed to stick at 3 meals plus the sweets thru our the day. I still have acquired a total roll of fat round my middle - and side saddle bag effect - though. Nice! It's hard to tell yourself that's baby bump etc when it's all soft and squishy fat!
Good luck for all the scan ladies and look forward to hearing lots of news :) maybe even more twinnies?

Spoke too soon, normal service has resumed!! Maybe fruit smoothies are they way forward! Either that or coconut butter cake, better have some more!

fl0b0t · 04/03/2013 13:26

Catchup time!
GOOD NEWS- scan date came through and it's next week! 9:am on Tues 12th March! Hoo-F*CKING-RAH! So excited! Also makes it easy for DH to get to (except crappy traffic at that time!)

Had a man come to measure the kitchen, just hoping the shock of the cost doesn't affect baby when we get the plans next weekend (though I would say that if you want a new kitchen, Wickes are honouring their sale prices from Feb!)

Cheesestrawcraving -We have been ttc for 18months so that's a long time to decide names! We have first names (girl or boy) and we're working on middle names. I doubt that we'll look at baby and go "oh no name X is so wrong for this baby!" :-)

kimjayne I don't think I'd like everyone speculating over my life like poor Kate Middleton, though I'd quite like a babymoon to Musquite (or wherever!). Having said that, even in the poor love did want a sausage sarnie, chances are she wouldn't fit in her sample size designer clothes... so muesli it is :( (~I just had a bacon and egg sarnie)

binarysolo - I have also had some really mental dreams- including two dreams about people telling my secret pregnancy news to people. One was an old school friend I haven't thought about for years and one is a current acquaintance that I really don't like so much and will totally be speculating right now about my life as she's weird and controlling about other people's lives! I also had a dream about my neice turning into a salad when I put her to bed......

Lexyma- speaking of sausages, we had one "hide the sausage" episode a few weeks ago which ended amusingly. I got horny and couldnt sleep at 1am, and so woke up husband. Who was so excited having not had any contact since the start of the 2ww (December!) he finished in about 3 seconds flat and then fell asleep- with me unsatisfied! Luckily I laughed it off...... :-)
I don't know about any of you, but I found that ttc improved our waning sex life no end and it felt amazing having more of a "purpose" for sex!

readytosettle- Cool news about your SIL! We do similar things (skype etc) with SIL as they live abroad. They're a year ahead of us (well 11 months) (we started ttc at the same time) but it's still nice to have someone who has been through it recently. Although the only thing I find quite stressful is that although she experienced some sickness, she's not had serious nausea and vomiting like I've been having and keeps making glib comments about "next time" and how you forget about it...... I understand that hormones kick in and you do forget a part of it, but having spoken to other women with HG and severe sickness, we really don't forget.......

Other things:
I enjoyed one alcohol-free Koppaberg pear a few weeks ago (but I think I sicked that up too so not so keen any more!). I've had a few sips of reral drinks but not been that fussed about them, until a friends birthday this weekend where I panic-bought a bottle of wine which turned out to be aahhhmazing (Barolo from Morissons, £11.99 if you're interested!!). I just could have drowned mysself in it!

Essay complete.

frogchops · 04/03/2013 13:43

Yay fl0... At last! You've waited all this time and still have it before mine! Hehe. Wish I hadn't known about mine for so long, the wait has killed me!

purplebynature · 04/03/2013 14:33

RunningBear78 that happened to me with the weight gain then the next day I checked again and was back down by 3kg (crazy!). I did a lot of googling and found a whole group of people this happened to. They had a fast weight gain in the first trimester- and then it slowed down.
I have a theory why- I've no idea if it's true- but I was doing a lot of sport and had tiny boobs and lots of muscle, and I think it was just a big shock to my body to be suddenly full of oestrogen. My boobs went huge very quickly. I had that whole if I don't eat I will be sick thing, but I feel better now, so I'm hoping I can take control a bit!
It's not just you don't worry!

purplebynature · 04/03/2013 14:40

Hi leeloo1 I was late onto here too. Congrats! We have the same due date- though I haven't had my scan yet (it's on friday) so I might change.
Roll on Sept 13th!
x

badguider · 04/03/2013 15:30

All scanned and all is well :)
Was really pretty strange to see an actual baby in there!!!

NT measurements all were between 1.7 and about 2.1 (she took them all along the length of the pocket of fluid, i don't know which is the "official" measurement) and she said 'within normal' - we'll get a phonecall if bloods come back with a high risk combined.
Baby was asleep the whole time despite me going to the toilet, jumping around wiggling it etc... was hard to get CTR measurement but she went with something that put us at 13+4 (due 5 Sept). I still think I'm 13+1 today (as felt ov pain and it couldn't have fertilised before I ov'd) so won't really expect to see the wee one till at least 8th September.

Bloods were a drama and a half.. the mw, not me. Apparently the blood blister I had last time was a haematoma and NOT GOOD so the nurse was paranoid this time, she gave both arms a good pin cushioning and missed the 'good' vein in the left arm which gives lots of blood but is a weird angle, having to go for the right arm where the vein is deep instead. Both arms now bloody sore but no haematoma appearing yet on either.

DH has texted his stepfather as he and DHs mum are in california and asked them to call us. We're giving them about 24hrs then going ahead with telling my parents, his sister etc. anyway... we only discovered last week that they were going away till 20th and we just can't wait any longer to tell people.

Yikes!!! I guess this is real Shock

fl0b0t · 04/03/2013 15:35

badguider yay for scan and dates (boo for bloods!)

Thanks frog- seems unfair huh? At least only a week to wait for me.......

Readytosettle · 04/03/2013 16:00

Yay flo we're scan buddies! Mines at 10am :-)

RunningBear78 · 04/03/2013 16:24

purple thanks for all that, feeling slightly reassured. i was also quite a reasonable exerciser so i like your theory Smile i feel like i've totally changed shape, and definately lost a lot of muscle tone. i suspect the fluctuations in weight day to day could be in part due to successfullness or otherwise of fibogel/actimel/smoothies. one friend did suggest i bin the scales .... fingers crossed weight gain slows down from here, my new Next maternity trousers have just turned up and I want to stay in them!

badguider great scan news, not so much the bloods. am quite terrified about the bloods, my midwife's poor needle action has left me with quite a phobia Sad

fl0b0t · 04/03/2013 16:24

Hurrah ready! Which hosp are you at? Mine's Frimley Park in Farnborough area.

Readytosettle · 04/03/2013 16:46

I'm at St Peters Chertsey.....where I was born! Which is more random than it sounds as I've lived in about 20 different places in the last 10 years and my family left Surrey when I was 4.

HettySunshine · 04/03/2013 16:50

Just got home. One littley in there all present and correct. I've moved from 14th to 13th and got 6 lovely photos for £5.

I'm going to be a mummy! Grin

badguider · 04/03/2013 17:00

oh, should have said - three photos for free here :)

Eeeknumber3 · 04/03/2013 17:25

badguider and hetty yay! Great scan news.
I have discovered tesco single cinnamon buns, one word, epic!
Am also scan next Monday flo so will be a scan buddy.
I had a sad day, funeral of a friend. Normally manage to hold it together a bit at such things, but really uncontrollable sobbing today, blaming hormones for major emotional outburst...and in the middle of it all I asked my mum for a tissue and she handed me from her coat pocket...a dishcloth, with blue checked pattern...sure my friend would have laughed at me bawling into a jay cloth!

Girraferama · 04/03/2013 17:29

Hi all, had my scan and all ok! Have moved forwards 2 days, so now due 13 th Sept! Baby was upside down and facing the back so we didn't get a great view but it was leaping around and we got an ok photo.

Decided not to have the Down's test in the end and really glad we didn't.

Bit confused as the nurse booked us in for 20 week scan and said I need to be seen by a consultant. I asked why and she said 'its quite common, your midwife should have discussed it with you' She didn't and I was classed as low risk when I had my booking in appt. I can only assume my BMI has gone up as I was just under the threshold at 6 weeks ( thought I was 8 at the time) but was re- measured and weighed today so reckon my weeks of eating sweets, cake and bread may have caught up me! Should I be worried?

Eeeknumber3 · 04/03/2013 17:44

Hi giraff, great news on scan. I also have been blacklisted for the BMI! I was just over the limit at booking in. Also had some history of suspected deep vein thrombosis. I shouldn't worry about it. I was referred to the consultant last week, who seemed rather bemused as to why I was there. He said and I quote, 'he is sick of the BMI thing with pregnant ladies, as he ends up seeing ladies who are really only slightly overweight for their build and he feels that is a waste of everyone's time!' I suppose they have to have a cut off somewhere, but I really wouldn't fret about it too much, as he seemed to be of the opinion it was really only an issue when extremely overweight...makes you feel a bit crap though!

Girraferama · 04/03/2013 18:04

Thanks Eek that makes me feel much better - wasn't what I needed when I'm already feeling fat and frumpy and too scared to weigh myself! I assumed they would take it from what I was before I pigged out due to nausea!!! Ah we'll, hopefully consultant will also tell me it's nonsense!

KamikazeeKid · 04/03/2013 19:05

Whats everyone's BMI then? Mine was 29 so more than should be but never really sorted weight out post dc1
