Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

I feel really naughty. I'm drinking Becks Blue. It's lovely it may not be lovely but I don't drink lager that often and it feels like a treat and tastes like beer to me

Readytosettle · 02/03/2013 19:24

I had a cherry brandy last night...now that IS naughty! Why does alcohol taste so much better when it's illicit??

andadietcoke · 02/03/2013 19:53

Ha ready so true! I am literally salivating over the thought of real life actual alcohol next Friday if my scan at 13w is okay. That makes me sound awful. I promise it will be no more than 1-2 units. Promise.

Readytosettle · 02/03/2013 20:22

25 ml of cherry brandy = 0.5 units. I've watched enough Jeremy Kyle to know that babies cling on through far worse abuse than that!

KamikazeeKid · 02/03/2013 21:11

I just want to eat all the cold cured meat I can lay my hands on but confused by NHS guidelines on that one

That and cooked fruit....

jennimoo · 02/03/2013 21:16

I think all the Parma ham type stuff is now ok. I just check on:
www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx
And mostly follow what it says that particular day ;)

Wincher · 02/03/2013 22:18

I had a glass of wine tonight and it was nice. Jt was no more than 150ml though, and not only did t last all evening, I had had enough and still had about a quarter of it left. Weird!

kimjayne · 02/03/2013 22:21

Had a dream last night where it turned out that Kate Middleton was one of the ladies on our mumsnet thread! Haha. Got me thinking ... I wonder how many big celebs use these sites? How funny would it be if we were merrily chatting away to A list stars obliviously. :)

Just a thought. X

fl0b0t · 02/03/2013 22:25

Hi all thanks for the kind blog comments! I haven't been over to the stats thread yet.

I rang the midwife today who told me that around here they don't even send you your scan appointment until 12 weeks and your scan will be at 13. Don't you just love the homogeny of the NHS services? So I'll 11 weeks tomorrow (ish) and I'm still going to have to wait another week until I receive a scan date and then another week (probably) before I get to see my little person! Dammit :-(

Still no weight gain and therefore no maternity clothes buying, but for some ridiculous reason I've managed to convince my lovely husband that maybe we should get a new kitchen! Eeek so stressful!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 02/03/2013 22:36

I am glad about the nut thing. Is red wine on the was banned now ok??

EmmaDee · 02/03/2013 22:46

Kim wouldn't it be funny!! These pregnancy dreams are totally bonkers, I find it hard to tell the difference between them and reality for a few seconds when I wake up!!

Creamtea1 · 02/03/2013 23:22

kim well there is Katie price and also Danielle o'hara who are due in sept - maybe they are amongst us! :)

Nice to know that whether you're famous or not you get bloat/sick/constipation etc IYSWIM!

I know this was raised a wee while ago but does anybody have absolutely set names for baby already? We do now, just wondered if anyone else did, or whether you had no clue, or indeed whether you were waiting to see what LO's personality was like? Just curious! What about you Dietcoke, you've gotta think of four you love! Or more if you don't think the different combos don't work with each other! Ooh exciting!

FYI, toad in the hole with onion and rosemary gravy or dindins tonight, followed by crumble and ice cream. Overboard much?!

frogchops · 03/03/2013 00:04

Have just been for the nicest but biggest tapas meal ever...prob ate a ton of stuff I shouldn't (is ham, chorizo, halloumi, mozzarella ok??) told our friends too and they were really pleased for us (altho she said she was suspicious after my last non alcohol session!) am collapsed in my bed thinking of trifle now. Mmmm

CheeseStrawCraving · 03/03/2013 00:19

Scrummy! Too late to worry re what you can have now frog, so just don't think about it and remember how much you liked eating it tonight :-) Nomnomnom. That's my philosophy anyhow! Had a lovely baked Camembert and glass of white last week, naughty but so so good!

juniper9 · 03/03/2013 01:23

I keep having dreams about fillet o'fish from McDonald's. Havent eaten fish for 8 years but body is not happy with me. Sigh.

Also having dreams about poached eggs. I blatantly need a more exciting life!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 03/03/2013 06:32

juniper I don't know what sort of mid life crisis I am having in my dreams but last night I dreamt I was riding a motorcycle in the mountains!
I have only ever ridden pillion a handful of times, I wouldn't even know how to ride a motorbike!!

kimjayne · 03/03/2013 07:21

Good lord ... I must have been to the bathroom for a wee at least 8 times last night. I'm now lay in bed desperate to go again. Is this baby bouncing on my bladder or what? ...

Manoodledo · 03/03/2013 07:23

Jealous of the boozing Wink! I asked DH to please have a beer last night as I reallly, really fancied a few sips, and he wouldn't oblige! Couldn't justify opening one for myself as I wouldn't have drunk much of it. On the plus side I did have chips and curry sauce, bliss!

The other night I dreamed we had another scan and the baby was definitely a boy (which would be DS3 for us!).

Dorita75 · 03/03/2013 08:00

juniper I've had about 5 fillet o fish meals so far, usually when I can't face the kitchen 'smell!'

I also had half a lager yesterday, was 4% and made it into a pint of shandy, pretending to myself I'd diluted it....it was a sunny day and we're 'on hols' and the pub had no non/low alcohol lager and by then I had to have it as I'd been looking forward to it all day. Can you tell I feel guilty?! Also ate scone and clotted cream, which I think is ok, but anyway, that's it now, good from now on....

Also wondered about Kate M, going on to think about how she'd hide her email address from hackers, would she have some MI5 plot to stop anyone finding out who she was, what if she was found out and her posts were published.....obviously have too much time on my hands!!

kimjayne · 03/03/2013 08:18

Dorita I was looking longingly at scones with jam and cream yesterday. Ended up getting a skinny carrot cake slice which was nice ... But not as nice as a scone would be. I want one now.
I've also been pondering Kate Middleton a lot since my dream. I feel a bit sorry for her in terms of mixing and chatting and interacting with other mums-to-be like we all do. She must feel a bit isolated. I know I'd be driving myself potty if I couldn't hassle you lot with my anxieties every few hours.
...... Although it would be nice to have a chef (which Im sure she does). I'd be ordering some sausage sandwiches right about now I reckon! .. Not sure that's quite Kate's style though. She looks like more of a musli girl.

Readytosettle · 03/03/2013 08:33

I'm v. Jealous of people dreaming... Had pretty much no sleep all weekend so not even a chance of a dream here. Just been so uncomfortable at night - I think it's just wind (maybe baby is starting to push my digestive system up or something??) but nothing I do seems to relieve it.

BinarySolo · 03/03/2013 08:39

I've been having weird dreams too. About being back with my horrid ex and other odd stuff from the past.

andadietcoke · 03/03/2013 08:54

Manoodle try the Becks Blue. I made DH try it and he said he wouldn't necessarily know it was alcohol free and that it was drinkable. He had just got back from the pub though!

Cheesestraw we're not talking about names until we know what we're having. Too many combinations otherwise! Although saying that I have a friend who was told she was having a girl at two different scans and a boy popped out so I know the risks!

jennimoo · 03/03/2013 08:57

We were hoping tonpick both boys and girls names before 20 week scan, in case there was a surprise on the day, but it's proving difficult! We had both ready before even thinking about TTC DD but as a friend has just used our boys name I'm not sure on either now!

I find the responsibility of choosing a name a little scary!
