Hi everyone, just wanted to barge in and introduce myself, I'm due with my first on 1st September Smile Had some pretty good screening results today (1 in 8000+) which cheered me up a bit after being put under consultant care for low BMI and clotting risk Confused Anyhoo, hope everyone has good scan results and happy bowel movements (I skimmed the top of the post!)...

EmmaDee · 01/03/2013 21:54

Hi all, just checking in. That's awful bout the lady on stats thread, hopefully all goes well for her next time.

I told my boss today cause the scheme I'm working on finishes next week, so for forward work planning. Crap though cause my company's policy is to not let preggers ladies work out on site, which is were I'd rather be :(

Hope everyone's weekend is good and this sunshine keeps up!

Readytosettle · 01/03/2013 22:05

Oops, just spent £150 in the mamas & papas sale....got 5 items for the same price as a Karen Millen dress- not sure I'll be looking quite so stylish at work from now on!

frogchops · 01/03/2013 22:07

£150 ready? Feel much better about spending £50 on new look site now Wink( sneaks off to look at mamas and papas too!)

EmmaDee · 01/03/2013 22:16

Ooh clothes, any idea where is get long leg 34'' work trousers, put mine on today for the first time in an age and had difficulties buttoning!!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 01/03/2013 22:49

Thanks lexi and binary solo for sorting me out on stat list.

flipflump · 02/03/2013 06:56

Morning ladies! I'm wide awake in post-scan excitement/relief!! Yesterday we saw our perfect little person bounce around - amazing!! My dates were spot on and despite being a bag of nerves, everything looked great. Now the big countdown to 20 weeks Grin Treating myself to mat clothes shopping today, might just sneak a baby grow or two in too. Hope time passes quickly for all those still waiting.

kimjayne · 02/03/2013 07:46

Hey, does anyone know roughly how long Im likely to wait for the results of my blood tests following the scan? I was given the nf measurement which was 2.7 so Im still a little worried. It seems most peoples measurements were much lower on here! Gosh, this pregnancy has turned me into a bag of nerves I swear.

BinarySolo · 02/03/2013 08:11

Try not to worry Kim. I think others have said that they only start to worry when it's 3 or over. Mine was 2.2 so I worried (don't listen to my own advice!) and my risk came back as 1:495.

I was quoted 2 weeks to get the result but in reality it was under a week. Fingers crossed for you.

kimjayne · 02/03/2013 08:31

Thanks binary, it's just really hard not to worry isn't it. I made the mistake of googling my nf measurements and it's just given me more reason to worry (as always). I've heard that the.measurement should be below 2.5mm. But not sure if that was something I picked up from Dr Google?
fingers crossed my results come back soon so I can get a better idea of our risks.

Zoon · 02/03/2013 09:18

Morning all.
I am trying to step away from the internet- been googling and scaring myself too much. so will be keeping low profile for a while(if i am not too addicted).I told my family yesterday(approaching 15wks-cant hide it anymore) and telling dh family today. Ironically last night i started bleeding- stopped now. i have a lovely independent midwife who came over and listened to heart. All seems ok.

So much easier said than done but please try and remember the NT measurement is dynamic. Ie always changing. You could take the measurement 3 times in one day and get 3 different results. And depending on how many wks you are affects the result also. There is a group online who have measurement between 9-15mm and had perfectly healthy babies at term. Do what ever it takes to keep busy and distracted.
Love and happy healthy thoughts to u all. xxx

TheFalconsmistress · 02/03/2013 09:33

Hope you dont mind me popping in here im on the oct thread but im due 29th september,

I was wondering did anyone heres symtoms fade at the 10 week mark im a bit worried but I have over 3 weeks till my nt scan.

Thanks in advance

Dorita75 · 02/03/2013 09:49

My symptoms reduced at 10wks falcon especially boob aches and I had a perfect scan yesterday so I wouldn't worry.

Congrats flipflump it's amazing isn't it, I'm still astonished after my good scan yesterday!

Whyriskit · 02/03/2013 10:20

For all those worried about the NT measurements (including me!), I did ask the sonographer at my scan and she told me under 3.5 was normal limits. Doesn't stop me worrying though Smile

frogchops · 02/03/2013 10:25

Help! Last minute plan to see friends tonite, (dps bestie and his wife). When we are out with them I usually indulge in jug fulls of cocktails with her Blush. If I don't shell wonder what's up. I used the anti biotics excuse last time and she knows I wouldn't have been out last night as I spoke to her.
Also we are going out tonite as we won't see them until end march at a close friends party. I don't want to announce to them at the party that I'm preg as really it should be about the birthday girl.... Would you tell them tonight?? I'm 11 weeks tomorrow altho we haven't got scan for two weeks. :-/

Wincher · 02/03/2013 10:27

I spent £50 in new look yesterday - got 2 pairs of really comfy jeans, a pair of black trousers and three tops. Bargain! I bought so many clothes last time, it seems silly to buy more now, but the trousers don't fit as I'm bigger to start with, and I'm still waiting to get the tops back from a friend.

TheFalconsmistress · 02/03/2013 10:31

Thanks dorita means a lot to be reassured Smile

Readytosettle · 02/03/2013 10:36

I'd tell them frog, but ask them to keep it quiet. People are more likely to gossip if they're not sure, whereas if you've confided in them they'll probably (hopefully) be a bit more sensitive about it!

WaggyBlueElf · 02/03/2013 11:15

I'd tell them Frog. I had to tell all DP's mates at 40 weeks as we'd spent new year with them, and then a weekend at the start of Feb for a birthday. There was no way they'd believe the antibiotics excuse twice (didn't actually believe it first time to be honest!) And as Ready says, they'll keep quiet if you ask them too.

Is anyone else developing an unhealthy obsession with crunchy nut cornflakes? I can't get enough of them!

WaggyBlueElf · 02/03/2013 11:16

Sorry - that should have read 10 weeks! It was a 40th birthday. Stupid baby brain.

LexyMa · 02/03/2013 11:38

Just had my nuchal test letter - age risk 1:470, individual risk 1:18,000 so what a relief. I wasn't even told the basic nuchal measurement at the scan, but the letter says it was 1.5mm. If I had known that I wouldn't even have been looking out for the letter!

frog I would tell, but stress it's early days (and not be specific how early) so they aren't to get excited.

flipflump · 02/03/2013 12:04

Thank you Dorita and congratulations to you too. Most amazing feeling isn't it!! I didn't realise I had a scan date buddy.
