Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

Mines because I'm (was!) cake mad and could eat scones for 3 meals a day!
Just been told on the school run 'you won't be fitting into that coat for much longer' !! by a close friend ffs! Was the 3rd comment in 24 hours on my size. Wouldn't mind but I'm 13 weeks and have put on 8lbs, wasn't thinking that was too bad - I mean over what it should be, but not like glaringly obvious even when wearing a knee length coat obvious!

Mine is a quote from the Mighty Boosh. I've been many things over the years, but this one has stuck :)

nerual · 01/03/2013 15:59

My username is just my name backwards, very unimaginative.

In case anyone is interested in the Harmony test, I found out something v interesting today. If you are between 10 and 11 weeks (probably too late for many of you now) you can get a harmony test from fetal medicine centre in harley street for just £180 (it's usually between 600 and 800), as they are doing some kind of data gathering excersise. but you have to be between 10 and 11 weeks otherwise it is full price. I just booked one today and just managed to get in before I'm 11 weeks...!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 01/03/2013 16:13

Neural! I'm 11 and 2 days but that's only by a 7 week scan so not at all accurate, so no idea really, could easily be a week either way. Any idea how they judge it?

nerual · 01/03/2013 16:20

Well, they just asked me LMP and all that sort of stuff, I think they give a quick dating scan before doing the test. It is a really nice place (I went there for amnio for my last pg), if you don't fall into the category they won't force to to take the test and pay full price, just because you have booked it. But would suggest to just call them and ask. they are very booked up though, might not be able to get you in in time....

BinarySolo · 01/03/2013 16:30

Crunch love your name. That's possibly one I my favourite quotes from the boosh. Grin

My name comes from a Flight of the Conchords song. I noticed in the stats that we have a preposteroushypothesis. Which is also a Conchords reference. In fact it would have been me but was already taken!

Creamtea1 · 01/03/2013 16:31

Been browsing the preg threads, bad idea - if I read one more post along the lines off 'with my (not first) child I didn't show at all till 35 weeks and put on 2lbs the whole pregnancy which I wee'd out after and wore my size 4 jeans home' I think I might scream.
And breathe!

BinarySolo · 01/03/2013 16:35

Fwiw Creamtea I've put about 6 lbs on so far. My friend was back in her skinny jeans as soon as she'd given birth, but I can guarantee that won't be happening here (I'm too hefty for skinny jeans for a start!)

RunningBear78 · 01/03/2013 16:41

Great to hear all the scan news, and also somewhat reassured that everyone else is terrified until they see a little pipsqueak waving hello.

As for the name, I run and am a bear ... and I was born in 78. Well mostly true. The bear thing is hard to explain :)

Have a good weekend, hugs to those waiting for results. Roll on Tuesday and my scan!!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 01/03/2013 16:56

BinarySolo, love flight of the conchords! I would be Hiphopappotamus if not Crunch :)

Nerual thanks for the info, it probably is too late, and I'm a long way from London. Looks like I'll be forking out the full amount then. Ah well. Well done on grabbing a bargain :)

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 01/03/2013 17:16

I am rosy, and I am going to be a mummy

I had a wonderful dream last night about Matthew McFadden - only a snog, but wonderful

Met with 2 good girly friends today. It was nice to tell them - they didn't have a clue! But also even better, they have loads of hand me downs. Grin

Keeping my fingers crossed for scan results and harmony results etc

Readytosettle · 01/03/2013 17:36

Are u still getting symptoms frog? Everything I've read says that you don't get symptoms with a mmc. I was very paranoid until I saw the heartbeat at 8 weeks & have relaxed a teeny bit since then. I haven't had extreme symptoms at all, but the odd wave of nausea and my tender slightly tender boobs give me a bit of reassurance (I squeeze them about 10 times a day just to check they still hurt!!). Plus I think it's pretty rare- all the positive scans on here are testament to that!

frogchops · 01/03/2013 17:49

Ready, I get odd pains but I never class then as symptoms because I worry about them too! Such as pain when I cough, sneeze etc, just pressure pains. I get the odd stretchy pain still too. I do still have achy boobs altho they've got much better (hurt real bad for a couple of days last week) but as for anything else I'm symptom free! Hmm
Ooh apart from the out if breath thing, I'm sooo short of breath, but again I just put that down to being unfit!!

frogchops · 01/03/2013 17:51

Based on your post too ready, I just gave my boobs a good poke.... They are nothing like they were pain wise and have not grown one bit!! Arghhhh. Someone slap me.

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 01/03/2013 18:01

Frog, I wouldn't worry about symptoms. The most pregnancy symptoms I had were when I had my missed mc. No symptoms with dc1 and problem free, small amount of ms with dc2 and dc3. So no indicator. I would say as long as no heavy bleeding, the odds are all good. Even this time with spotting the very lovely, but mad, doctor in the EPU said it was really nothing to worry about.

Not sure if that helps at all, especially since I'm still full of the fear too, but just wanted to share my experience.

Readytosettle · 01/03/2013 18:05

Mine haven't grown obviously (they were 34G to start with so I doubt it'll be that obvious for some time yet!), and they're not agonisingly sore just a bit tender when I squeeze....symptoms are meant to start disappearing from now on anyways so I think you just have to take even the slightest signs as confirmation that something is still going on in there.

I had really bad boob pain on Sunday. Just came out the blue and was almost stabbing like....had to take paracetamol it was so bad. I had a little light stabbing pain in my abdomen this morn as well, but other than that nothing too major this week. Just need to get this weekend out the way, then we can start the official countdown to the 12wk scan!

Creamtea1 · 01/03/2013 18:05

Slaps frog ! Stop worrying :) how long until your scan?

Thanks binary btw, good to hear the same from a fellow 'normal' lady. I forgot to say that obviously the rant does not apply to the poor ladies who have spent the first trimestre throwing up, obv they would not be putting pounds on! It's the ones you read where they've even lost weight, whilst eating 18,000 calories a day grr...
My maternity over bump leggings arrived today - sooooo attractive ha ha but can see that once the bump bit is filled they will be so comfy!

OP posts:
fl0b0t · 01/03/2013 18:37

creamtea I think it's like anything- if you're being sick you wish you were well cos you feel so shitty. If you're not sick you (secretly) wish you were as it seems like the pregnancy is more "real". If you've lost weight, you're silently worried that it should be putting it on.... if you put lots on, you worry that it's going to be hard to get it back off again..........

The only positive of my sickness is that I feel my pregnancy is following my mum's with me.... and she had an easy birth with me..... so I'm keeping positive about that!!

PurplePoppySeed · 01/03/2013 18:37

Oh I'm getting more and more impatience for my 12 week scan. I'm 12 weeks now goddammit but they put my dates back at 8 weeks. so still a week and a half to go. I hope it won't end up being too late for nuchal tests. On the plus side I got told I have a bump today - I was quite pleased as up until now I've just felt fat!

Interesting too understand name choices mine is my fav colour and poppy seed was the nickname we had for my first bump which sadly didn't get past 8 weeks.

frogchops · 01/03/2013 18:41

Thanks slappers (purely due to the one you've just given meBlush) scan is two weeks today....I think I'm worrying more due to dr saying at first appt 'you can mc without bleeding a all, it really is just a lottery' .... Plays on my mind. Someone has just posted on the stats thread that she needs to be taken off due to mmc at scan...poor lady, she must be so sad.

Eeeknumber3 · 01/03/2013 18:42

Haha cream I am fascinated by one of the mothers at school, who is tiny to start with. Had a lovely football shaped bump for the last few months, popped out a baby and back in her skinny clothes within a week, it was a phenomenon to behold! This has NOT ever happened to me. Put on 3.5 stone with DS1 and about 2.5 with dd1. Managed to get back to a 14 within 10 months of DS, but only as I had to get in a wedding dress! Those women are sub human, an entirely different species...I am just jealous. I remember my mum laughing at my ever hopeful packing of my normal jeans to take to hospital with first baby...she was so right, I had NO idea!

SGJ · 01/03/2013 19:01

It's all relative isn't it? I feel massive this time round so weighed myself and apparently I've only put on 2lb!!! And yet my flabby stomach is protruding so much I think I look the same as I did at 22 weeks before! (I've been looking back at old pics obsessively)
Will be glad to get a few more weeks along and it can be a legitimate baby bump, not just flab.

fl0b0t · 01/03/2013 19:23

Pffft some people don't help when we're in our usual 1st trimester stress-fest. Currently pissed off about the big poster adverts at Reading Station about miscarriage..... totally ruined my friday :( If you're brave enough- blog post here about it:
bumpytimes.wordpress.com/2013/03/01/offended/

If you're bored you can read all of my pregnancy witterings so far.......

Creamtea1 · 01/03/2013 19:37

flo I like your blog :) and agree that the posters have not been well thought out.
