Great news about everyone's scans! I had mine today - baby was in perfect position and looked very laid back! I have had date moved forward by a day so due on the 6th September now. Also reassured that they only found a small trace of anti cw so baby shouldn't be at any risk.

Must get back to 'working' from home and catch up with hopefully more lovely news later Smile

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 28/02/2013 13:37

Great news zoom and everyone who has had scans today.

I haven't told anyone yet. Well except 5 close friends, my boss and two random colleagues! I'd like to tell everyone but DH is cautious. My parents are on holiday so that's a bit easier as I'm sure my mum suspects.

frogchops · 28/02/2013 13:38

No sickness here either, DP thought I was throwing up the other morning and waited outside the bathroom excitedly....bless! Am off work until 6th.... So at least when I go back it will be closer.... Maybe daytime tv, looking through cake books, eating scones, playing candy crush and reading about scans is the problem!! Blush

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/02/2013 13:42

Thanks kitten, have updated.

Wincher · 28/02/2013 14:53

Have updated my new EDD on the stats list. Interesting to see how heavily the list is weighted towards the first half of September - I don't know whether that's because people getting later BFPs haven't found us yet, or whether when they did find us they got scared off by finding such a long list already? Or is it just Christmas shagging?!

LCR77 · 28/02/2013 14:59

I have some very happy news to share on this sunny Thursday. Dating scan and NT screening were amazing this morning. Baby is doing really well and I'm a little further ahead than I thought so now 12+3, due date 9th Sept. NT measurement was 1.4mm which after a little research is normal.

Was just so wonderful to see the little thing wriggling around. Cannot stop grinning today!

Hoping this gives you a little hope if TTC

Do you ladies think that an NT measurement of 1.7 at 13 weeks is ok? The sonographer said it is thin, and I know that it sounds thin, but then I keep thinking that its meant to shrink? Surely it should be less by 13 weeks?

kimjayne · 28/02/2013 16:28

Had my 12 week scan today too! Was fab to see our little wriggler. He/she was jumping up and down like it had hiccups. The sonographer was a right royal bitch though. Kept turning the screen so I couldnt see it and then saying "oh can you see it's features ... oh look at that' then when I tried to turn my head towards the screen she would moan that I was moving around and complaining she had lost the right angle/position. My DH walked out the room and whispered ".... god what a d*ck!" which is quite out of character for him. Glad it wasn't just me that disliked her. I then went for my bloods to be taken and ended up with a training midwife. She jabbed at my arm 3 times before giving up and passing me over to the senior midwife ... who gave my other arm a good stabbing without any success. In the end I got sent to the phlabotomist who was on lunch for 30 mins. It was a right saga! But I came away with some fab little piccies of our little munchkin who behaved beautifully for measurements etc.
They are now dating me at 4th Sept as due date but I'm not 100% convinced. So might keep it as 7th for the time being.
Ooops, sorry for the essay!

kipsonline · 28/02/2013 16:37

Wonderful scan news everybody and hurrah zoon phew!
jammy my nt was 1.9 at 13 weeks and came back at 1 in 300 risk overall (which letter said was low) so I'd think 1.7 was really good?
My boss today came out with the chestnut that I clearly can't be that bothered (about the pg) as I'm still cycling into work ?!?!!!!
In his defence he is a professor who has had team management duties forced on him and is clearly uncomfortable dealing with anything non academic... But, still.....he is always pretty off the scale non PC wise.
Well done for the stats list kitten very cool to see us all there in lights, what a journey so far hey???

JammyTummy · 28/02/2013 16:38

Kim that's almost the same as my dates! Mine was due 7th but now they're saying 3rd. I don't know which way to count (and I wanna know for my baby app Hmm )

JammyTummy · 28/02/2013 16:40

Ps thanks kip. I'm not really worried but it was just niggling under the surface and I knew it would bug me if I didn't ask!

monniemae · 28/02/2013 16:43

Creamtea1 might you have white coat hypertension? I've always had low blood pressure but in last couple of years it measured high, I mentioned this to my midwife at booking in as I've a history of blackouts. She suggested measuring it at the end of teh appointment - it was very low, so she said I probably have whitecoat hypertension.

And hello everyone... I'm lurking really till scan next friday.. x

LCR77 · 28/02/2013 16:51

oops didn't mean to put the bit about TTCers copied from another thread. Obviously all you ladies are up the duff already otherwise wouldn't be on this thread.

Have a little pointer so you don't make same mistake as I did night before your scan or indeed at any other point in your PG. Last night I watched Prometheus the Alien prequel. Big mistake. There is a scene where the main character gives herself a caesarean to remove alien-type creature. Don't say you weren't warned!! Lucky I didn't have nightmares!

jennimoo · 28/02/2013 17:10

Jammy and Kim Jayne - I think the midwife / consultants dealing with you tend to go for the 12 weeks scan EDD for their purposes, so that's what I've put into my app now!

TripleRock · 28/02/2013 17:45

Evening all!

Had scan today and measuring at 11weeks, so spot on my dates. We get to go back for another scan in 2 weeks for nuchal screening, as although it was borderline to have been able to do it today, she said it would be better to wait a little longer, plus they will be able to give bean a much more thorough check over after 12 weeks. Which felt sensible and that they're taking good care.

The only snag is that we had planned to tell DD today and thereafter the rest of the family, but as things stand we've decided to wait until after the 13 week scan just to be on the safe side. We're busting to tell DH's folks, but to wait a little longer is the right thing by DD I think. Ho hum!

LexyMa · 28/02/2013 18:05

jenni is right about the scan being the official EDD - the knock on effect particularly for first timers who want a non-interfered-with birth is that the 41 week point when they start itching to do induction is also sooner. And the 42 week point when they really start frowning comes sooner too!

I don't understand the logic that all babies of 68mm CRL are exactly 12 weeks gestation, regardless of the parents' physique, ethnicity, or previous siblings' birth size/weight... but I am 'merely' an expectant mother and no non-medical qualifications ever entitle us civilians to question infallible medical statistics...!!!

Have had confirmation that my booking bloods were all normal (I called my GP reception) but still nothing on combined nuchal risk - scan was last Tues - she said I could phone hospital but not to worry.

Creamtea1 · 28/02/2013 18:15

Thanks monnie I will mention the fainting at my next appt and ask them to do BP at the end instead. Maybe I should get a home BP machine so I can check myself?

Warning major rant

Come up the city for late night shopping with a specific purpose to buy mat jeans. Marks and Spenser, next, new look, dotty ps - ALL OF THEM - NO MATERNITY CLOTHES!!!!!!!! None. Nil. Nada.
Click and collect!
I'm not happy. How am I meant to know what size I am?!
Ffs

eBay gamble it is.

Belvedere · 28/02/2013 18:19

Lexyma - i dont get that 68mm thing either. i was 68mm crm and they dated me 13 weeks... makes no sense to me!

Readytosettle · 28/02/2013 18:30

Thanks for all the positive scan news ladies...very reassuring for those Of us who have a long wait on our hands! I've been on my feet at a conference all day & am absolutely knackered....boss seems to have forgotten I'm pg already so kept nicking the seat whenever I got up & didn't send me off for a break or give show any signs of the concern about the amount of lifting & packing I was doing. Now got to try and muster the energy for a black tie do & all I want to do is sleep!!! Grump.

Readytosettle · 28/02/2013 18:31

Just read that back & it's a bit of a rant! Think I'm a little delirious...

LexyMa · 28/02/2013 18:40

oh I nearly forgot... I got offered a job on promotion today! an internal move so should be full mat leave/pay rights - but I'm just checking with HR before I accept. Will feel pretty odd once I am able to tell the people who've recruited me though, going to have to practice that conversation!!! I'll also feel the pressure to do a super amazing job before leaving them in the lurch and probably will be less likely to take more than 6 months off...

TripleRock · 28/02/2013 18:41

Forgot to mention we got a nice pic of bean giving us a little wave :)

LexyMa · 28/02/2013 18:43

ps belvedere - yes I meant 13 wks too, just a random example. Grin if you have a tiny Japanese lady scanned at 13 weeks and a big-boned bulgarian, are their babies really likely to be growing exactly the same?
