kips ShockShockShock at your boss, what a tosser Angry

zoon brilliant news, hope you're being looked after for the next few days!

We've told everyone now, and I'm planning to tell work today (fx my boss reacts better than kips' Hmm). We've seen the scan now, everything looks fine and I'm 12 wks today. Plus my belly is popping out a bit now and people have started to comment on how I've not been to the gym in a while (normal go every lunchtime).

Looking forward to lots of lovely scan news today Smile

Kittenkatzen · 28/02/2013 07:35

Oh and I'm happy to have a bash at organising the stats and starting a stats thread, will do it at work in a bit and post a linky here.

andadietcoke · 28/02/2013 07:43

kitten thank goodness. I was starting to think I'd done something terrible! We haven't done a blanket announcement but everyone important knows. I had been panicking a bit but someone on a post-mc thread shared something they'd seen on another board. It was written by a lady who'd had lots of losses who said that she told people every time she was pregnant because she wanted her baby to feel loved no matter how long she was carrying them for.

BinarySolo · 28/02/2013 07:58

dietcoke that's lovely. There appears to be something in my eye... I remember reading about Amanda Holden's late miscarriage she said she felt privileged to carry her son for the short time he was here.

Off to cuddle my ds now

Kittenkatzen · 28/02/2013 07:59

dietcoke that's a lovely way of putting it, so sad for the lady though Sad. I know I definitely feel like if anything happened now I wouldnt be able or want to hide it. Now I've seen the the baby it's all so much more real and I just couldn't deny my baby's existence at this point.

Kittenkatzen · 28/02/2013 08:02

Oh and we've told literally everyone, including the dreaded Facebook announcement. We have lots of friends living abroad who we keep in touch with on there so it's the easiest way to make sure everyone knows and nobody's forgotten/left out.

andadietcoke · 28/02/2013 08:06

Ha. We haven't done Facebook yet, but if everything is okay next Friday that might follow or I might see what date my 16w scan is

I'm exactly the same though. I'd be so devastated that I'd need people around me to understand, especially at work.

frogchops · 28/02/2013 08:25

Zoon that's brilliant....what were those original stats you were given? Excellent news!

georgie22 · 28/02/2013 09:19

Hi all - haven't been on the thread for quite a while but have been keeping up to date with scan results etc.
Zoon - really pleased about your CVS result. Take good care of yourself and let others fuss around you.
Had my nuchal scan yesterday - had been extremely anxious due to my age and the background risk. Thankfully all was OK - my risk was that of a 15 year old. Went in and out of the scanning room 3 times as baby not wanting to play along with very thorough doctor. Good for us though as we saw lots of baby and definitely got our £175 worth!! Also have loads of great pictures of baby from every possible angle!!
Started to tell more people now we have scan result - only people who knew before this were my parents, a friend, my boss and someone in HR. Love telling people!!
Have a great Thursday everyone!

Zoon · 28/02/2013 09:20

I was given 1:71 for downs, 1: 112 for edwards, 1:226 pataus. Compared to 2 yrs ago when it was 1:150,000, 1:92979, 1:190,789.
I am so much more mobile today but have an intense ache really low dow.
Please keep fingers, knees, legs toes crossed this little guy stays put. MW came to house on tues and we heard heart, she is coming again tomorrow.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 28/02/2013 09:27

zoon all the best. Hope you're getting the chance to just rest up.

JammyTummy · 28/02/2013 09:43

I am really excited a out my latest discovery- Actimel! Have been having one first thing in the morning for about four days now, and omg all my poo (or lack thereof) troubles are over! I highly recommend!

batfuttocks · 28/02/2013 09:47

Woo hooooo zoon! Got it all crossed here that you and bump are fine over the next couple of weeks xx

As for me: am drowning in food this morning. Unstoppable hunger. Hoping a little brisk walk may distract me from any further troughing!

RunningBear78 · 28/02/2013 11:02

Jeez ... go to sleep for a few hours and wake up to two pages of posts! Great to hear all the good news. We've told close family and a couple of my close friends, mainly because I'd need them if something went wrong. Oh and my mangers at work, because I dive as part of my job, usually, so had to let them know I wouldn't be available this summer. I'm struggling to keep things quiet now and can't wait to tell the rest of the friends and family after the scan, assuming everything is ok. Think I'd explode if I waited any longer ...

Eek and Dietcoke hello locals, I'm in Marple, but look peak-wards rather than Stockport/Manchester way as a rule, so I feel close :) So sad about the Buxton unit, I'd read about it on the SHH website and it seemed a bit like a jewel in their crown they were really proud of! Bit of a bugger having to go to Macc ... and thanks for the reassurance at SHH.

Creamtea same with salty things. Usually live off chocolate and tea/hot drinks but haven't really been into them at all. Have been eating a large amount of crisps which is really strange for me!

JammyTummy · 28/02/2013 11:52

Just been reading through the thread as haven't kept track for last few days.

Kips WTAF?!? I am amazed that you didn't throw a pregnant lady raging tantrum at him!!! How effing rude!!! Some people are just so miserable it's absolutely shocking...

Zoon that is such amazing news! What a relief for you! You must be so so happy.

We told everyone on the day of the scan. Did the family first, then called closest friends, then texted everyone who didn't get a call, then did a big Facebook! We had such an overwhelmingly nice response from everyone! I think I ended up more wired up excited than I was when we actually found out! And it's so nice to not have to lie to people anymore too. DH and I are going to do some baby shop trawling over the weekend, so we can actually look at stuff we like as opposed to peer at it from the corner of our eye and constantly look over our shoulder!

Creamtea1 · 28/02/2013 12:05

Great news zoon

Note to self : purchase actimel

Talking of low BP, I fainted this morning. Now I've had this before in non pregnancy as well as preg with ds1 and after the birth. Basically I get really hot, prickly skin, dizzy (can't stand up) then faint. Then when I come round after a min or so am freezing. The wierd thing is they are adament I have high BP? Although I have started taking the aspirin which is supposed to lower it.

Bacon frazzles and cola cubes are the thing :)

andadietcoke · 28/02/2013 12:13

RunningBear I'm in Marple too. I know very few people in Marple so that's quite exciting. Smile

Kittenkatzen · 28/02/2013 12:15

Ok I've created a stats list here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

I think it's the most up to date list, but have a mosey on over and double check/add/update yourself. The list is in order of EDD as usual - if I didn't have your EDD then you're in a separate group at the bottom, just update and slot yourself into the list in the right place!

Make sure you always copy/paste the last list in the thread - not the op - so that everyone's updates are picked up. And try not to cross post :o:o

chocciemousse · 28/02/2013 12:40

Thanks Kitten for organising the stats list. Smile

Zoon that is great news ! Smile

We have told our immediate family and I have told a few close friends. Management at work know also know as I have been off ill for several weeks. I am excited and want to tell the whole world but at the same time I don't want to tell people just in case. Maybe I am just being paranoid?

Has anyone else done any baby shopping yet? Once again I am hesitant too but there is so much I just want to buy! I've been having a look at cot beds where the change table sits on top. Has anyone had any experience with these or is it better to have a separate change table?

frogchops · 28/02/2013 12:40

Thanks kitten, how interesting to look at everyone's stats.
I'm excited that juniper and readytosettle are due with their firsts also around my time!
Two weeks tomorrow for scan. It's going so slow!
I've not had any cravings or aversions as yet, but the one thing I really don't want is bacon. And u all keep posting about bacon frazzles too...urgh. I think I'm more of a see it and need it person, like the fruit pastilles incident and the cheese scone alert! Right now its fruit salad chewits and chocolate digestives. Mmmm

Whyriskit · 28/02/2013 12:45

Thanks for organising the stats kitten. Just had scan, new edd is 07/09. NT was 1.9 and crl was 64.3mm. Very wriggly baby!

Kilkers · 28/02/2013 13:15

Very happy to be able to add my good news to everyone else's. Just got back from my early scan and there's a very snuggly little bean in there measuring 46mm CRL. Saw the tiny heart beating, imagine how tiny it must be?! The consultant put me at 11+2 but I won't bother updating my stat until I have my scan at 12 weeks as it'll probably change again.

The consultant was great, he could see I was worried and flipped the screen round as soon as he put the scanner on my tummy and there it was!

Such a huge relief, feeling very emotional and wishing I didn't have to work this afternoon. I can't see myself getting much work done!

Big hugs to everyone with scans today and everyone still waiting for theirs xx

chocciemousse · 28/02/2013 13:18

Love hearing about your scans ladies. Did any of you find that the sonographer would refer to the baby as a he or she? Mine kept referring to mine in the beginning as he but I'm sure it was nothing as she wouldn't have been able to see anything yet...right??

frogchops · 28/02/2013 13:23

Kilkers that actually just made me cry! A mixture of being so worried about mine and happy about yours I think!

Kilkers · 28/02/2013 13:26

Oh froggy, bless you! I have everything crossed for the 15th March for you. It was very reassuring as I had the old chestnut of worrying because of my lack of symptoms. Am I allowed to be smug yet as I haven't had any morning sickness?! Grin

(Please don't throw things at me pukey ladies!) Thanks
