Last one nearly full so thought I would start a new one - new thread, new trimester!

I've got to wait 2 weeks for the results of my blood test and nuchal scan too kips. The nuchal measurement should be written in your notes. Some sonographers will talk to you more and explain what they're doing but yours sounds like mine, and needed to be quizzed on everything!

kipsonline · 25/02/2013 19:20

Thanks binary, damn it I wish I had asked more now!! I was too busy watching my DH for any signs of emotion/ excitement after the whole 3rd DC shock thing. (He is def coming round now it is all increasingly real) Will dig out my notes once home from airport, what am I hoping for measurement wise at 13 weeks?!?

BinarySolo · 25/02/2013 19:25

I think anything under 3 mm is considered ok. Afaik even over that can be ok if your bloods are fine.

fl0b0t · 25/02/2013 19:35

Anyone else not got a scan date yet? :(

jennimoo · 25/02/2013 19:38

Craving for milk- I have pains like that, really painful at times, but almost certain it's just gas. Was terrible over weekend. I've tried to drink mint tea and stuff but not sure how much it's helped.

Kips online - had to wait about a week for mine by post and low risk so doesn't mean anything.

jennimoo · 25/02/2013 19:39

Fl0b0t I'd chase if I were you. Hadn't heard at 11 weeks last time and rang midwife office and then hospital and got it sorted.

sjclarke86 · 25/02/2013 20:03

got my scan date today, not until March 22nd!! Will be 13+3 by then... arghhh so annoying I thought only a couple more weeks until we can tell but no its now over 3 weeks..on the plus side should get a good scan and means another week done I suppose :-(

Eeeknumber3 · 25/02/2013 20:43

Epic booking in appointment! 5 minutes shy of 2 hours! Midwife (Macclesfield, where had my other two) was delightful. I have to see consultant at 20 weeks because of deep vein thrombosis years ago which was as a result of an injury, but they are cautious. Also, this time (unlike other 2!), my BMI is above the 30 mark, oops 32, so have to see consultant about that...yikes.

Eeeknumber3 · 25/02/2013 20:44

Lovely scan news girls, am jealous! Got mine today...5th march. Noticed for anyone going to Macc it is £5 for two pics.

kipsonline · 25/02/2013 20:49

Just got back from airport to find results letter waiting! 1 in 300 combined result. Previous 2 pregnancies have been 1 in 100 from nloods slone as no NT offered. I was obv younger then, so am thinking this is a good result aged 35???

WaggyBlueElf · 25/02/2013 20:53

Jammy I'm scanning tomorrow too. Not til 3 though. I laughed at my mum when she moaned about having to wait til so late in the afternoon, but now I know what she means! What time's yours?

SJ I'll be 13+3 tomorrow as well. Like you, I was gutted to have to wait so long. I'm pretty sure my midwife forgot about me - had to text her at 11 weeks, had a text back with appointment an hour later and a letter the next day. Hmmm.

Good luck to everyone else having scans. It's so lovely to hear everyone's news.

Eeeknumber3 · 25/02/2013 20:59

Id be very happy with that kip! I'm 36, hope I get some results like yours.
Anyone else been referred to obstetrician because of BMI, am feeling a bit mortified!

Wincher · 25/02/2013 21:01

My scan is indeed tomorrow, at 10am. Eek! Am proper poorly with a cold that seems to be going to my chest which I could do without. Hope I sleep tonight - have been asleep half the day and I 'remember last time round not getting much sleep the night before my scans because of the worry.

Whyriskit · 25/02/2013 21:04

Glad to hear good news from the scans. Can't wait til mine on Thurs!

JammyTummy · 25/02/2013 21:08

I'm 12.20 so practically ( in my head at least) first thing in the morning!

Good luck Waggy and Wincher and all other Tuesday scan girls! Fingers toes and everything else crossed for us!

WhizzsMum · 25/02/2013 21:10

flobot I haven't got a scan date yet either, but I am seeing mw on Wednesday for booking in so hopefully I should find out then or soon after.

Is there anyone else out there who has not had a scan yet but is suspecting they are showing too early to be carrying 1? My 10 week bump is comparable to my 20week bump with DD. Will the mw have her suspicians too if she sees the size of my belly? We were going to take out twin insurance but are too high a risk!! Hmm

Glad everyone had good scan experiences today Smile Envy

sjclarke86 · 25/02/2013 21:22

waggy Good luck tomorrow, hopefully we will get nice clear photos :-) Just need to keep busy in the next few weeks and take my mind off the long wait... x

Creamtea1 · 25/02/2013 21:29

Can you believe this - reply to my email with baby news from a family member!! (a grown adult!)
"ha ha ha! It's a boy"

Wtaf??!!!!

OP posts:
andadietcoke · 25/02/2013 21:34

Eek me too. No idea whether it'll be a different consultant to the twin consultant or when it'll fit in. It wasn't mentioned last week. Have also been prescribed aspirin, apparently for the twins and because it's a first pregnancy. So I start on that when I stop my monster folic acid dose next week.

I was embarrassed too. I'm over it a bit now. My blood pressure has gone down to 120/60 and I'm eating a lot more fruit and veg. Haven't started exercise yet but will start swimming after scan next week when I've got the all clear.

jennimoo · 25/02/2013 21:39

Creamtea - one of my (adult) learners who I told (while I was sitting down so couldn't even have looked at the bump) just said the same: 'it's a boy'. Apparently she guessed right with a friend of hers so obviously must have a super-power in this area ;) She's only about 19 and I thought it was weird but kinda hilarious.

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 25/02/2013 21:42

So exciting to hear all the scan reports coming in

I am now officially preggers as I have washed, in the washing machine, with clothes, an empty ice cream carton. It was meant to go in the dishwasher.

Creamtea1 · 25/02/2013 21:47

It was especially a random comment as I've already got 2 boys, and I thought the ha ha bit was wierd - like he was being mean? Maybe just preg paranoia.
coke I've got to take aspirin too. Got a prescription from the hosp but didn't want to wait the 1 hour for the tablets so will just buy some.

CheeseStrawCraving · 25/02/2013 21:49

Oh Rosy. Never mind, at least the end result is a clean tub eh? Wink

CheeseStrawCraving · 25/02/2013 21:51

Bizarre CreamTea. Totally. Pull him up on it, i'm dying to know wtf he means... One of my friends just sent me a message saying yikes. I thought that was strange, I was just looking for a congrats! Nowt as queer as folk.

Creamtea1 · 25/02/2013 22:02

Totally cheese! People are wierd!
At least I've only had about 25 'hope it's a girl' comments so far Hmm
I had celebratory fish and chips though which were lovely
