loving reading everyone's news today.

Rosy you made me laugh so much with your baby brain Grin at least it's definitely clean!

Good luck for those who have scans tomorrow.

JammyTummy · 25/02/2013 22:09

Is anyone else watching that 'food shockers' programme on channel 5?
Oh it is SO sick! Do not watch if you are even vaguely nauseous Envy

batfuttocks · 25/02/2013 22:11

Whizz I definitely only have one in there ( made them check again at twelve week scan!) and have huge bump. Really, quite embarrassed by it at only 13+6 or (+3 depending on which scan I go with!). Easily fill over bump jeans which didn't happen til twenty weeks with my last two.

I'm eating lots though. Feel v greedy, usually someone who exercises a lot and watched my weight so feeling like a lump right now. I did do an exercise DVD for the first time in weeks last week though so hopefully i will get back to being active as I get further into this trimester?

kipsonline · 25/02/2013 22:14

Creamtea I'm with you on the 'bet you're hoping for a girl THIS time' comments. We've had a few thoughtless 'what will you do if it's a 3rd boy?' Err, love it as much as our 2 gorgeous DS????????? Grrrrrrrrrr

andadietcoke · 25/02/2013 22:38

kips and cream I keep getting 'oh wouldn't it be lovely if you had one of each?' Almost to the point that they'll be disappointed if I have two boys or two girls! Angry

WhizzsMum · 25/02/2013 22:58

Ah, bat thanks that is reasurring. My scan cannot come quick enough just so I know for sure.

My SIL who is a twin thinks my panic is hilarious and tried to reassure me that I'm probably having one massive baby instead. Hmmm, think I'd rather push out two small ones than one massive one?!?!

Good night all, good luck with scans tomorrow x

Whyriskit · 26/02/2013 08:21

I have two gorgeous boys and I'm planning to keep a running total of people who ask if I'd prefer a girl! It might be nice to have one but I'm used to boys now!

frogchops · 26/02/2013 09:04

Ohhh don't get me started on boys/girls. You might have seen me mention my whiny bitch, spoilt, 'I won't use second hand items', kisses my dps ass at every opportunity, has had two dcs and knows everything SIL? Well she has two boys and desperately wanted the second to be a girl. It wasn't. I was a little bit smug now she keeps harping on that this one 'better be a boy' cos I can have all of her unwanted/outgrown stuff and they're used to boys and don't want a niece.
I know the real reason is that she doesn't want me to have what she didnt get, and hates the thought of me having new things in case I have something better. She's a nasty piece of work like that and DP just thinks she's ever so kind at saying we can have her pram, carseat, cot, clothes (boy permitting), bouncer, high chair. Etc.
as much as I'm not a snob like she was, and I'm grateful for any help, something makes me not want it from her. Is that silly?

JammyTummy · 26/02/2013 09:11

Chops she sounds like a total cow! Good for you for even making the effort to keep in touch with her! Grrrr for you!
I can completely understand why you wouldn't want her stuff too- it's not about her stuff, it's about her! What a dick, you should tell her you can feel its definitely a girl Grin

JammyTummy · 26/02/2013 09:13

Oh yes... I've not slept since half past two this morning (and I don't even have a dc1 to show for it)! Woke up to go for a pee but then the excitement/ nerves of today's scan took over and I ended up rolling about, contemplating useful things, like how to baby proof our windows... Eek!

Eeeknumber3 · 26/02/2013 09:25

Ha ha cream I, on the other hand, keep getting, why would you have a thirrrrrrrd child when you already have one of each! They make me smile...morons! I am now devising an exercise program (not) due to my excessive BMI. Honestly, I'm not bothered about being told I'm a bit overweight, jus thin it's a bit of a waste of time, when I'm not much bigger than I was (5 foot 6 and clothing size 16 or 18 sometimes) when I produced two perfectly healthy 8lb something babies, both on their due dates, with no intervention!?

Zoon · 26/02/2013 09:44

Good luck with scans everyone! Its nice too hear so many nice stories.
I had my cvs last night. We paid privately and had to travel because i needed it done. Couldnt wait for my nhs appt. It wasnt so bad. Just got to rest for a few days and wait for that call!
The man who did it was fab. He told me 3mm NT used to be the cut off between what was considered normal or not. Now they no it can be less. Also it shrinks with time for everyone. So in my case 2.7 mm@13+2 would have measured more if i was scanned at 11wks. last night at 13+4 it was 2.6mmThis is why the cut off with this test is 14 wks
Hope that makes sense to people.

frogchops · 26/02/2013 09:50

Yes jammy I'd love to say that but I def don't want her to get the smug feeling I did if it turns out blue! I'm completely not bothered one bit what flavour it turns out, but grrrr she gets my goat!!
Also my grandparents (I'm lucky I have all 4 Smile) have all said they'd like to buy things such as prams etc being as its their first great grandchild and altho usually id say no, I think its nice for them if they'd like to do it.
Coming round my house pointing out all the things that 'will have to go' when baby's here.... I'll shove my feather cowing duster up her looks 8 months gone with quads jacksy!!
Rant over. No more moans of bitchy mcbitch.

Creamtea1 · 26/02/2013 09:52

So glad you're all sharing in the 3rd child/boy-girl rants! Makes me so mad! frog your SIL sounds a complete nightmare, must have patience of a saint to put up with that...and totally agree - I wouldn't want her bloody stuff either! Grrr
My mum phoned this morning and asked 'so did they weigh you?' re the scan - wtf again?! Whole world is wierd.
bat totally agree, what's the issue when you've fired out 2 eight pounders with lovely healthy pregnancy, why would it be different this time?
At the hosp yesterday i swear I was the oldest there. Couple of around 17 year olds - with boyfriend, mum, auntie?, and small child - even though was a big sign up saying only one accompanying person allowed in!

Everyone wanted my ds to be a girl. My brother had a son already, so it was better if I could produce a daughter. Hmm

My mom has already stated her preference for a girl again this time round. I'd be perfectly happy with another boy. I honestly don't get he one of each to be perfect mentality.

I have a mw who seems to delight in telling me that my bmi is 30 every time I see her and then get lectured about having the test for diabetes. Same woman that wrote down test refused for the nuchal measurement. Hmm She also booked me for a consultant as my son was 3 1/2 weeks early, but didn't tell me so I looked a right gormless prat when hey asked me at the scan why I needed to see a consultant next time.

Sorry, but ranty there!

frogchops · 26/02/2013 10:38

Binary she sounds vile. At my booking in I had two mw's and when she checked my bmi I said I thought it might give concern and be 30+, the mw said not to worry.... It turned out at 28 which I was shocked at but both mw's said 'be careful what you say, it's the same as mine!' They didn't seem to be alarmed if it was higher though... Maybe its luck of the draw in who you get.

Belvedere · 26/02/2013 10:51

Anyone else really bored of getting up ALL night to pee. Im averaging 4 times a night! Its making me a very tired lady indeed!

BinarySolo · 26/02/2013 10:51

Unfortunately she the team leader in the area and the only mw at my local surgery. If it continues though I can ring the hospital and see a matron for appointments instead. Tbh I feel she's treating me like a wet behind the ears 17 year old rather than a grown woman. Not that there's any excuse no matter what age to disregard what tests I want and write down what she thinks is best.

I'm going to try and be firm with her, but I just don't feel I should have to fight to have my opinion considered as it's bloody exhausting!

Wincher · 26/02/2013 11:25

Back from the scan! All well, only one baby. Dates pushed forward by 3 days so am 12 weeks tomorrow, yay! Nuchal fold 1.4mm wwhich sounds good to me. Hooray!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 26/02/2013 11:33

Binary - why don't you ask her if she is going to assume all your decisions right the way along, and if so perhaps shed like to sort out your birth plan and feeding regime too. Add at the end 'there's nothing like a good bit of "patient choice" and "individualism".

Then ask her who her supervisor of midwives is, and her contact number so you can suggest an advanced communication course for her pdr.

The last medical professional to make a decision for me got something similar, with a rant about holistic assessment and walking a mile in my shoes.

I think I have "awkward cow" on the front of my notes as everyone else has been nice as pie.

It's hereditary

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 26/02/2013 11:36

And AND there is no, i say NO reason why you can not go and see a diff midwife at a diff surgery just because you are reg with a particular gp.

I refused to see the male mental health nurse, and they gave me a diff surgery to attend. It's actually got nothing to do with the surgery. It's the team who are looking after you

Rant over.

Back to washing dishes by washing machine

frogchops · 26/02/2013 11:40

Yes.... What Rosy said!

Kilkers · 26/02/2013 11:52

Lovely reading everyone's scan news, and yes I am very bored of getting up all night to pee. Worried by the fact it's only going to get worse!

Can I ask everyone's opnion on something please? I'd been having the standard period pain-like cramps and they started getting quite sharp over the weekend and taking my breath away a bit. When I walked to the bus stop after work yesterday (I have a desk job so don't move around much in the day) I had a very sharp pain in my uterus which shot down right through my fanjo. I haven't had an bleeding etc as I'd be straight to A&E.

I called the doctor when I got home (who was pretty useless) but have an appointment for tomorrow morning with a lady GP. She is going to have a feel of my tummy and apparently might also do an internal exam to see if everything's ok. My question is would you allow an internal in early pregnancy? I had a MC last July so am obviously paranoid about things that might contribute to another MC.

frogchops · 26/02/2013 11:58

Kilkers, I've had these very pains....sharp, right in the middle, shooty, make u jump... My mw was not worried at all, said it was just everything moving to make way for uterus getting bigger and to stop stressing. I duno if its your first baby but she explained to me that the muscles in there haven't had to do this before and so don't know what to do! I'd be interested to know what they say though, and I don't think an internal should be an issue many people have internal scans this early I'm sure.

Eeeknumber3 · 26/02/2013 12:13

Any scan news yet?! Can highly recommend (back on them again) the jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw for lunch, just had one, most satisfactory! With butter, so there!
