Ours is bean/ little bean, even though a while off until he/she reaches bean size.

Soupqueen · 01/03/2013 07:51

Morning! 8 weeks today Smile

Ours is called Genghis. DH has always joked about calling our first born Genghis, so this is the compromise, it's Genghis until it comes out.

I've got a tricky weekend. It's DH's 40th, so house guests and a boozy meal out, pub etc. at the moment I'm more worried about falling asleep in the starter, I'm lucky to make it beyond 8pm at the moment!

Have a lovely Friday everyone.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 01/03/2013 08:38

Genghis is hilarious soupqueen. We call ours Ralph but that is our first choice of boys name anyway. (Probably).

Is everybody else still eating a lot? I haven't been sick but feel hungover all the time. This is this morning...,

An apple
A prune
A slice of melon
A bowl of coco pops
A slice of toast with marmalade
A slice of toast with marmite
2 glasses juice

Soupqueen · 01/03/2013 08:44

Feeling hungover all the time is a brilliant description iheartcrunchiebars, that is exactly how I feel.

Umlauf · 01/03/2013 08:49

Still eating like a horse crunchie or indeed an actual horse and feeling queasy all the time. Seems to be savoury stuff I'm having rather than sweet... Another sign its a boy?!

My bump is called tinyface as DH is ballfacesmallface, stupid nickname that's evolved over years. Tinyface's full name is eggfacetinyface but we tend to use the shortened version! But I think we've agreed on the actual names now so started using those a bit too to test the waters!

Anyone else suffering a bloody sore back and (tmi sorry) diarrhoea?!

34PinkLadyApple · 01/03/2013 08:50

Morning ladies. Pinksky- glad all was well and slightly jealous of hearing the heartbeat!

Had a really busy week with trip away for work where i couldnt sleep at the hotel so have taken today off just for me to chill... So why did i get up at 7 with h2b (hes now gone to work) and planning to get to ikea for breakie to wander around the nursery section taking notes.

We call ours little face or piglet. No reason, just cute.

We have told both sets of parents, future uncle and close friends as h2b announced we were ttc whilst tipsy hammered last aug Blush and have been asked about progress on and off ever since. I didnt mind and dont mind them knowing we are expecting as the ttc pressure has now lifted and it makes for easier get togethers not having to avoid drink on the sly and they will all be there to support us should the unmentionable happen but it wont!.

I am 10 weeks on tuesday and have my booking in appointment then. Daddy cant come as he has to work (must because hes selfemployed and had nothing for weeks!). Does that matter? Letter didnt say he needs to be there but need his family med history which i can give. Got to take some wee so will look for stylish pot at ikea to piss in Grin.

Scan 2 weeks tuesday and sooooo cant wait to check all is well in there as no real symptoms accept weeing alot, achey boobs and now a sort of hard area just above pubes which goes about half way towards belky button, which i guess must be uterus massive bag of piss

Hope all those feeling sick are feeling better soon and those with worries are trying to relax and getting the right advise and care. Im off for my big breakfast! See you all on the next thread soon.

roofio87 · 01/03/2013 08:50

morning all!! yes feeling hungover definitely, except you don't get the joy of knowing you'll feel better tomorrow, just worse!! I threw up for the first time last night at work, came on so suddenly out of nowhere!! I'm 8+3 today so hopefully it won't last too long!!
we're referring to ours as the appropriate fruit for each week so it changes, this week its the little raspberry. me and my friends have a joke that I inform them of the fruit each week and they are then tasked with eating it at least once during the week in the baby's honour! its sweet as I'm the first to get pg so they're all really excited!! its going to get hard though as there are some really obscure fruits on the list!! (and one week is just randomly 'the size of a prawn!)
hope everyone else is well today!!xx

roofio87 · 01/03/2013 08:53

pinklady my dp can't get the day off for booking app either as he's on a course. I don't think t really matters, its more about us than baby,he's just going to make sure he's there for the scan!!

BirdsDoIt · 01/03/2013 09:05

I'm with you iheartcrunchiebars, i am hungry pretty much all the time. As soon as I wake up I am starving!! Had a big work dinner last night and sneaked off to bed 'early' at 11.30pm when the dancing was just getting started (felt quite heroic having made it that far, tbh) but will be able to do a convincing impression of a hungover person alongside the rest of them as that's exactly how I feel!

Sorry not posting much but really enjoying reading this thread every now and again. And I loved the tips on dealing with wind a while back - have come in embarrassingly useful... By the way, ladies who were like me complaining of itchy legs - I asked the midwife about this at my booking in appt and apparently it's hives. Glam hey. Quite common pregnancy symptom and caused by hormones. Drink lots of water!

I've had first appt with midwives and they were lovely. Feel like I've fallen on my feet - I get an assigned midwife within a team of three, all of whom I'll meet and one of them will come out and see me when I go into labour (god, writing that for first time is terrifying!) and then come to hospital with us for the whole time. Amazing. Now I just have to wait two and a half weeks for twelve week scan to make sure there's actually something in there...(when she started talking about breast feeding classes, I did think, whoa there, not sure I'm quite ready for that yet!!)

Happy Friday everyone x (and sorry for mammoth post)

cuillereasoupe · 01/03/2013 09:11

We're calling them the lentils here :-)

roxvox · 01/03/2013 09:50

We're just calling ours 'Baby' (in a baby voice)!

I am glad everyone seems in a good mood today. I am jealous of you 34pinkladyapple! I have been desperate to go to Ikea for ages, but don't really know why I also want a browse around the nursery section.

roofio I am also peculiarly jealous of you. We're on the same time frame but I haven't had any MS yet. Yes, yes, I know I should be thankful for that etc, but I can't help but feel that something is wrong when you don't have MS! Stupid I know.

DH was away last night and I missed him terribly. So I am looking forward to having him home again tonight. He's away quite often and usually I am ok about it, but since I got a BFP I hate it when he goes away!

Also, what's with these food 'cravings' and 'aversions'?! Yesterday all I could think about was flipping pop tarts. So last night after work I popped to Tescos and bought some. No sooner had I left Tescos than my craving changed to McDonalds chips, and I no longer wanted Pop tarts...
For weeks I have wanted fish and chips. Dreaming about them and everything. I found out last night that our local is having a fish and chip night tonight (Friday) - WIN! Then today I wake up and guess what I suddenly don't fancy for dinner...?

Sorry for the long message all!

EuroShaggleton · 01/03/2013 09:58

Morning ladies. When the list is updated could I be removed please (EuroShagmore on list)? I had my early scan yesterday. It wasn't good news. Just waiting for miscarriage to happen now.

After more than two years of waiting, I was happy for two and a half weeks. Back to waiting.

Good luck to all. I'll be thinking of you come October.

Haylebop12 · 01/03/2013 10:03

So sorry euro Flowers look after yourself.

cherrycherry41 · 01/03/2013 10:06

euro such sad news Sad sending lots of love to you Thanks

CelticPromise · 01/03/2013 10:07

Euro I'm so very sorry. Thinking of you.

star87 · 01/03/2013 10:13

Ours is little bean. My h2b is quite tall so his mum always calls him runner bean and my nephew calls him uncle dean beany so I thought it was nice :)

Hangover is the perfect way to describe it!! I'm trying to cure mine with a cuppa and a sausage cob! I will no doubt regret it in about an hours time!

I've gone off food altogether, am just eating because I have to. I'm hoping it comes back soon. x

star87 · 01/03/2013 10:13

I am so sorry to hear your sad news Euro I will be thinking of you xx

cuillereasoupe · 01/03/2013 10:13

Oh so sorry Euro. Look after yourself.

Haylebop12 · 01/03/2013 10:18

We haven't really been calling it anything. Although the other night dh cuddled up to my back, put his hand on my tummy and said "stick in there you little shit!" Shock however he is able to pursuade our unborns to do stuff. He said to my bump (with dd) one Sunday, if you come out tonight ill give you a £1. He was on a 14 hr shift on the Monday and didn't really want to go. Lo and behold I went into labour that night! Maybe my dh is like a baby whisperer. Freaky.

I'm glad I'm back to eating. Hospital food takes quite good when you've not eaten properly for a week! I too am eating what I fancy. Good thing is though I would normally skip breaky, but have been enjoying weetabix.

Ladies, if your sickness gets bad and you feel lethargic etc please go docs. If your dehydrated your kidneys won't be functioning and that's not good Smile now mummy has given her advice, as you were Grin

Umlauf · 01/03/2013 10:18
