Evening all.

Congrats to all my fellow scan partners today. Mine was also great. One healthy and very wriggly baby. We didn't find the sex out so
Yellow here.
Forgot to say that DH felt kicks at the weekend. Hooray! They are getting strong now.

Brrr it's bloody chilling. Roll on spring.

TomDaleysTrunks · 12/03/2013 22:31

Oh and hooray for those at 24 weeks!

cheekbyjowl · 12/03/2013 23:37

Abz ooo Northumberland is my favourite place. We stayed in a place called Bellingham. It's a good hub for going out to the surrounding areas but you need a car. We went to Seahouses and Bamburgh castle (sp) and took a boat to the Farne Islands to see the seal pups, walked Hadrian's wall twice (we missed the wall the first time) , Cycled round keilder lake which is a great 26 mile loop, we tried to do it on a tandem but gave up on the first corner :) I've also been to vindalanda (sp) the home of minimus the latin mouse and Lindesfarne and loved it all. In Bellingham we stayed in a studio flat called 'Lock up Mews'. It cost us around £160 for a week in October. It was compact but perfect for the two of us as it was warm, we could wash muddy walking clothes, pop round the corner to a pub and cook food from the butcher next door - a nice escape from London life - though if you're looking for space, it wouldn't be the best choice - it really is just a studio flat.

cheekbyjowl · 12/03/2013 23:42

Forgot to add 'Happy Birthday' . The other place i've heard is good is a bed and breakfast in Alnwick. I don't know the name but it has a Gold Star rating from VisitEngland - so would be easy to look up. It might give you more comfort than the Lock Up Mews place but would be quite a bit more expensive. Oh and i think there was a nice hotel near Wark/Hexham with spa we were tempted by . You can't go wrong in Northumberland, i really love it and i'm a southerner!

photographerlady · 13/03/2013 05:13

Good morning all. I am lazily sitting in bed not wanting to get ready for work. This weekends my lazy weekend and I am so looking forward to it. Finally weekend off with nothing to do... Well maybe figure out how the pram works.

Happy belated bday Abz

Congrats to Vinegar and Thinking on week 24 :)

lizincornwall welcome to team pink

TomD I second your request for spring, can't come soon enough.

Supershiv1 · 13/03/2013 06:13

Just a quickie.
Had scan yesterday and I am team blue!
Have to repeat the scan (again) as apart from flashing his tallywacker a lot baby would not turn around and show his face........a sign of things to come I'm sure! X

Supershiv1 · 13/03/2013 06:18

ama lols at Saga holidays - that'll be me too!

photographerlady · 13/03/2013 06:46

Your holidays are sounding so nice I am quite jealous. I am hoping for a night getaway to studland bay come June when I'm on leave. I just hope we have beautiful weather then so I can enjoy my month off.

I think I am going to be a grumpy third trimester wife. We joked last night about my cankles. After my 1.5 hour commute home my ankles are a bit swollen, like clockwork at dinner I always look down trying to see how big they are. And to top it off I come downstairs after changing in to pjs and my DH is like "whoa you belly is huge all of a sudden". This pregnancy is so glamorous but yes my belly/bump is pretty massive the last week.

AmaDablam · 13/03/2013 07:22

Morning ladies and congratulations on great scan news and pink/blue/yellow bumps. I hope for those that have to go back it's absolutely nothing to worry about and just an extra bonus peek at little one Smile

Vinegar no it was Leicester - I think they are all just as bad. H&M is the same and that's about all there is in terms of maternity wear on the high street here. Grrr.

Woke up with achy hips today so going to get off my backside and try and fit in a quick pilates DVD session before work....

Have a good day everyone.

21+3

esme80 · 13/03/2013 09:03

Happy belated birthday abzs!

24 weeks today, hadnt even thought of viability, but now also having small dance!

We have a wedding end of june im bournemouth area, and are going to make a weekend away out of itas my mother is having ds. Will be massive by then though... Already massive, dont think I was this big till 34 weeks last time!

dinkystinky · 13/03/2013 09:05

Vinegar - big H&M on Regent Street is the best laid out one I've seen - maternity (and kids stuff) on lower ground floor and changing room on same floor and nice big roomy cubicles. All the others are really badly laid out.

Congrats on good scans Shiv, Tom and Liz - and on pink bump Liz and blue bump Shiv.

Photographer - swollen ankles are hugely common in pregnancy. Lying back on ground with your legs up the wall (part your legs abit) is a great way to reduce the swelling. Probably not what you feel like after a 1.5 hr commute home though... I'm also ginormous - look about 7 months gone! People are v v shocked when I say I'm not due till July.

Also in the viability club from this week (though keep forgetting how pregnant I am). Hurrah.

Wedding is end of may i mean, that would be a little too close!

esme80 · 13/03/2013 09:10

dinky the other day a woman in the gym asked when I was due, and I said june just to not get that oh wow, really look at my belly!

dinkystinky · 13/03/2013 09:11

x-posts Esme - there are some really lovely maxi dresses on Seraphine website (price between £45 and £60 I think) at the moment - may be perfect for a late May wedding...

Grin esme funny about lying about your dates, I did that the other day too!
I second dinky advice on cankles! The glamour of pregnancy indeed. I can add piles to my list this week.

Sleepless night sue to DD coughing and baby kicking constantly. Might have some zzzz's on the sofa this morning.

Any advice on holiday wardrobes? We are going to Kos in May for a week. Can't wait. Need a tankini and a couple of dresses. We are also supposed to be going to Spain to see the in laws but I'm currently refusing due to MIL being a total cah on DDs birthday. Poor DH doesn't know what to do, feel a bit mean.

Right, day off today so it's time for washing, ironing and a trip into town to get some ideas for DD bedroom. She's getting an upgrade so baby can have her Cot etc.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 13/03/2013 09:57

Tom New look has loads of lovely maternity dresses, really cheap and tankinis too. I like Red Herring as well and Debenhams have a sale on!

Congrats to everyone who had a good scan! :)

dinkystinky · 13/03/2013 09:59

Tom - my holiday wardrobe for our holiday in Lanzarote in April is going to be a few tops and skirts, cardi for cool evenings, a tankini and some maxi dresses. Topshop and H&M have a few cheap maxi dresses and sun dresses in stock now. I got a couple which are good for bfing also which are a bit more expensive - one from Seraphine (gorgeous green colour) and black and white one from Jojomamanbebe (with the MN discount). Also nice tankinis on sale via JJMB.

Sorry MIL is being a pain in the bum - hope things settle down soon. Never been to Kos but DH is keen to go - let me know how it goes.

We need a new thread soon - how about

July 2013, thread 6: cankles, bumps, strangely placed lumps, the glamours of pregnancy go on and on

esme80 · 13/03/2013 10:40
