Guava I feel for you! They aren't always so lovely... I teach year 4/5 and have some particularly tricky year 4 boys. I was away this week with 5/6 so had some of mine and some of the class above- was a nice break.

I told my class the week before last that the baby can hear noise outside and that they all had to be much quiter- I find I am loosing my temper more quickly... At least I have a chair that I can sit down on every now and then although this doesn't happen often. Counting down the weeks until Easter...

Guavasforbreakfast · 09/03/2013 20:53

Thanks cheese - I'm year 4 too and it's about 8 troublesome boys with a core of 3 with significant issues which have persisted since Reception. I tried the 'baby can hear' one earlier in the week but no empathy at all from the worst ones! My class from last year were absolute angels, I keep looking longingly over at Year 5 thinking how much easier she has it!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 09/03/2013 20:54

Guava Sorry! I'm sure you wont regret the tights though. :)

Dinky Are you a Buffy fan by any chance?

Guavasforbreakfast · 09/03/2013 21:00

Oh and on movement with an anterior placenta cheese - I'm only really sure about it this week, think I'd been feeling it for the last 3 but didn't know what it was. I've been describing it as pre-fart bubbles Blush, but thinking about it it does feel a bit like a fish flipping over too! It's become more obvious this week and I can pick out where it is - currently he appears to be kicking my bladder as that's where all the feeling is, plus he was breech at 20 week scan so that would make sense. I never feel it at the front, just at the sides and now at the bottom - I think any movement towards the front is muffled by the placenta, so that could explain why you're not sure.

Guavasforbreakfast · 09/03/2013 21:01

Oh and it would help if I said I'm 21+4!

dinkystinky · 09/03/2013 21:01

Schro - funny, never thought of that. Yep like Buffy - but wasn't the inspiration for name choices...

Guava - your class sound like hard work. I would never be able to have the patience to try to teach so take my hat off to all the teachers on the thread. Doing homework with ds1 at the weekends is bad enough for my blood pressure...

Dinky re the dc's dancing, kept at it, I have been since age 3 went through phases of not wanting too, glad my mom kept me at it, it's great to have grown up doing it & now okay only 18 but can see myself sticking at it for a very long time with hopefully my little girl following in my ballet shoe clad footsteps. Grin

Guavasforbreakfast · 09/03/2013 21:08

Vinegar I'm in awe of how little you've spent on nappies. I don't even have a baby yet and I'm embarrassed to say how much I've spent. I got the bug a while ago when i discovered them, and don't seem to be able to stop. Think I have enough now so I had better get on with reusables otherwise DP will kill me!
But in my defence they are all super cute. Got some washed but not used Teenyfits from ebay and they are SO tiny! Wanted to have sized ones for when baby's little, I think that's why I've spent so much!

elliejjtiny · 09/03/2013 21:17

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. My new maternity jeans stay up better than my other ones but still not great. Only one leg length too so I need to find time to take them up before I trip over them.

I'm finding the spd is worse when I've been lifting things. Finding it really hard to avoid lifting though, I'm always lifting DS2, DS3, the buggy, hoover etc.

I'm still team yellow but I'm so tempted to find out at the next scan. I'm pretty sure it's a boy though as I have 3 already and cleft lips are more common in boys. We've chosen our 2 names. Don't want to say first names as they are really unusual and I like to be a bit anonymous on mumsnet but middle names are Matthew and Emily.

elliejjtiny · 09/03/2013 21:20

Guavas I have loads of nappies too! I prefer the sized ones as the one size nappies can be quite bulky on a little baby. My favourites are the itti bitti d'lish ones as they come in bright colours and are fluffy.

23+1

VinegarDrinker · 09/03/2013 21:23

Yes the one bundle of nappies I did buy (second hand) was size 1 TotsBots. But actually, this time I think we'll use prefolds for the newborn stage as they are even less bulky.

Cheeseandbread · 09/03/2013 21:40

Thanks for kicking info Guava. I just can't wait until next Tuesday when if I see bean move and feel it then I will know what I'm feeling is real Smile

Guavasforbreakfast · 09/03/2013 21:45

Ellie I got 3 of those ittis too, half price as they were closing online shop - so fluffy and soft! My fave one is a giraffe print Smile

Cheeseandbread · 09/03/2013 23:25

Vinegar I just noticed your post Smile looking forward to getting bean out before my birthday... Not sure I'll be up for doing too much for my big 3-0- though!

TotallyEggFlipped · 10/03/2013 06:45

I got some reusable nappies off freecycle. We used disposables with DD but we're going to give the reusables a go this time.

Cutandstick · 10/03/2013 07:24

Guava I feel your pain with your class. Mine were hard to start with (much younger than yours and very boy heavy) but have excelled themselves the last week or so. I think bump will know what mum shouting sounds like far too early (and I'm not usually a shouter!)Confused

Been to a musical for part of my b'day present this weekend. My stomach actually hurt by the end after 2-3 hours of constant kicking - it definitely responds to music! Worryingly 'I will was 500 miles' and the muppet song on radio 2 seem to be firm wake up and kick to favourites! Lol!

Haven't bought anything for baby yet - we're now 24+1 and suddenly thinking it doesn't seem that far away and we are mega disorganised! No shed built, no shopping list made - just a messy house I can't seem to keep tidy anymore! Enjoy mothers day - weird us first timers will have little ones next year Smile

Cheeseandbread · 10/03/2013 07:47

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mummies! [Thanks] Us first timers next year Grin

Cut I haven't bought much- we are waiting until after the scan this week and will hopefully get our buggie at Easter when I'll be 24/25 weeks.

dinkystinky · 10/03/2013 08:02

Cut - you don't need too much day 1. Just get the essentials and add to them when your little one is here. Hope you are having a lovely birthday weekend. Bean also moshed away through book of Mormon when I went to see it. Off to see the opera next week so will be interesting to see if Bean will be a fan of classical and warbling too. Went to loads of gigs when pregnant with ds2 - he is a huge music fan now (but doesn't like girls music whoever that is :-) ).

Cheese I had Ds1 when I was 29 - my 30th birthday spent with just him and DH was a very special day. Even better than DH's which we spent hiking up a mountain in Spain. You'll have a great one, whatever you do - or don't do.

Happy mothers day and mothers to be day all. Dh and the boys have treated me to breakfast in bed - ds1 and 2 ate most of it but its the thought that counts :-)

Hello all, happy mother's day!
Just back from a week in Egypt. Couldnt go scuba diving but me & Ribena went snorkeling and have a nice brown bump.
Being in a bikini was really nice and freeing rather than horrid maternity bras and I could let it all hang out (within reason) without feeling fat or guilty.
Couldn't take advantage of the all inclusive though! Made hubby and I realise just how much life is changing.

josine32 · 10/03/2013 11:28

Hello! Just thought I'd join this group as am due on the 25th July with a little girl! She's going to be called Sophia as that name is easy to pronounce both in Dutch and English (I'm Dutch as you may have guessed from my name and my partner is English) and can't wait to give birth. Congrats to all of you - not too long left to go now! I start my mat leave in 3 weeks time and will be busy am sure!

I have a problem though as I'm really baffled about what maternity knickers to buy. Any advice would be much appreciated Grin

Guavasforbreakfast · 10/03/2013 12:19

Welcome josine - very jealous of your upcoming maternity leave, I still have 3 months to go! As for knickers, I find low rise shorts-style ones in a size larger than before seem to work for me - it hadn't actually occurred to me to buy maternity ones.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 10/03/2013 12:36

Welcome Josine. :) Don't bother with maternity knickers, there's really no point, the short style pants are really comfy or the womans Y front looking things you can get in pretty styles from lots of places.

You are due the day before me!

Ellie I got a pair of new look maternity jeans from a charity shop the other day and they are really comfy and stay up, I got the overbump ones, underbump ones drive me nuts. They are doing a sale on maternity clothes just now, go on the website and you will be shocked how much they have and for how cheap! They are also selling Hot Milk nursing bras very cheaply.

Scan tomorrow! Can't wait!

20+2

Guavasforbreakfast · 10/03/2013 12:44

Good luck for your scan schro! What's this website with the hotmilk bras on - woud love one but need to stop spending so much money!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 10/03/2013 12:56

The New Look website in the maternity section! They have a sale on and lots of lovely clothes really cheap. Including the Hot milk bras. :)

And thank you. Can't wait to possibly find out what team I will be on this time!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 10/03/2013 12:58

here

They have lots of other lovely ones too.
