TotallyEggFlipped · 07/03/2013 12:45

bigbelly I think I can beat you on the glamour front - I had to ask DH to pick me up something for piles when he went to the shops Blush. Hope you're feeling better soon.

TomDaley enjoy your weekend away. I'm more that a little jealous of your trip to the rugby. I hope you have an amazing time.

I'm starting to feel really old at 34! I often wish I'd been able to start a family at 18, but that would've been a completely different life.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 12:45

And I am on a anti epileptic! It says on this that can be a cause!

I freaking love you.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 12:52

Totally You're not old. :) I started my family at 20 (I am 22 now and DP is 26)... I wish things had been different.

And yes, getting DP to go for pile cream isn't the most dignified but it actually does get worse as time goes on...

BadMissM · 07/03/2013 13:23

Schro My neuro claims that lots of this can be medication overuse. I think that's crap, as I have come off of everything, and the pain is worse than ever. He also blamed a lot on caffeine, and have evidently stopped that too...

I was on things like dihydrocodeine, co-codamol, and tramadol before, and certain anti-epileptics used for migraine..

Think it's part of blaming the symptoms on the patient and cutting down on prescription of expensive meds.... I'm just waiting to tell him that all his theories were a bit rubbish! I do think that longterm medication use may have damaged nerves though...

Have lots of friends with damaged nervous systems one way and another...you need to get it looked into!

Don't know where you are, but you need to be referred to specialist Neuro Centre really, only a few in the UK.... (you can PM me if you like!)

Glad to be of help Smile

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 13:37

I think you might be right about the medication as one of my GPs has tried to get me off it a few times as I am on a high dose and it's very expensive.

I drink a lot of caffeine. In pregnancy I limit to the 300mg a day as I wouldn't function without it. :(

Interesting that we were on the exact same medication though!

I am seeing my very lovely GP on Monday before my scan, I will say to her then as she is always interested in getting to the bottom of things and not just treating the symptoms.

I will PM you. Thank you so much. x

Oh, I booked driving lessons! I start on Wednesday! :o

Thinkingof4 · 07/03/2013 13:50

Blimey what a lot of posts to catch up on!
twinkle hope you get your appt through soon

vinegar it's horrible leaving wee ones when they are upset and saying not to go to work but they always settle quickly once you leave

totally I'm the same age as you, 34. I don't feel too old yet!

tom enjoy your weekend away, sounds great

Congrats to everyone who's had good scans this week and good luck to those still waiting

Brain melt I can't remember who was talking about giving their dh a urine sample to get checked. I had to do this last week when we were not well plus a stool sample from ds3 to post. He was quite delighted when I asked him to go and post a jobby!!

I'm feeling almost back to normal and delighted to be back at work after all that time off. One of my colleagues got sent home sick yesterday with a similar bug to what I had so I feel a bit less guilty about having to take time off now!! I love being at work esp after a week of sick children at home its like a holiday Grin

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 13:57

Thinking Glad you are feeling better. :) There does seem to be a bug going around, DP was unwell yesterday and MIL has been sick for days.

I would love to be in work, I am so bored.

trustissues75 · 07/03/2013 15:37

Wow, lots has been going on this past week. I must come on here every day instead so it's easier to catch up.

Photographerlady - congrats!!! ANother girl.

Phie - sorry you didn't get to find out if you were having a pink or a blue - and it's not very nice when you have a sonographer who isn't very communicative.

Badmiss - sorry you're having a lot of trouble with official stuff - I'm still in the middle of things conerning my divorce and it's so stressful.

I decided which pram to go with: for those of you who gave me links etc...I happened, just by chance on a little known company called Mee-Go and I love their product. It's made the short list for the pregnancy and parenting magazine awards this year for travel systems at under 500 pounds - and I'm managing ot get it for much less than my mother was originally goign to pay out for the mothercare Orb - so I'm stoked. Anyone who's interested you can find the company with their Mee-Go prematte at www.mee-go.co.uk/. Thanks to all who gave me their suggestions on where to look!

So, 22 weeks today and I finally have an obvious bump and she's kicking like mad. I'd forgotten what it felt like!

Sending out lots of immunity/healing dust to those who are ill or have family members who are ill.

Twinkle - hope you get your referral and additional scans and consultant appointments quickly - there's nothing worse I think than just waiting around wondering.

Anyone on here planning a homebirth?

Having a girl, Rachael Louiesa, 22+0

Abzs · 07/03/2013 15:46

Thinking and Totally are not allowed to be old, because I am 34 next week and cannot possibly be old.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 16:24

Trust I'm having a homebirth, MW phoned last night and I am booking in with her at the end of March and she is the only MW I will see for the rest of the pg. :)

Congrats on the little girl!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 16:28

I've just returned from a job interview, I feel naughty as I didn't tell them that I am pg...

VinegarDrinker · 07/03/2013 16:32

Ugh, ultimate mummy guilt, phone call from nursery saying DS' temperature is high....

photographerlady · 07/03/2013 16:45

trustissues75 congrats on the girl too!

SchroSawMargeryDaw hope the interview went well and good luck on the driving lessons, I keep staring blankly at my theory book, havent opened it yet. :) would you be taking leave on the job if you got it? I think you have to tell them before 18 weeks left. Don't quote me on that still getting my head around the whole mat leave thing.

photographerlady · 07/03/2013 16:46

poor mini VinegarDrinker I think you both need a snuggle and a nap :)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 16:48

Thank you!

I just asked for a temporary position, hopefully I get it! I don't have a theory book yet, tried the practice test and got 30/50. Hmm Open the book and get started! Being a paren is so much harder when you can't drive!

:)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 16:50

Vinegar Your poor DS. :(

princessllama · 07/03/2013 17:32

phew have caught up again. i second photographer, hope mini vinegar recuperates quickly.
twinkle hope you have a date or have had the next scan now.
phie how did the next scan go?
dinky i'm 36 too, resolutely reminding myself i am still young.
schro, ama and totally i am struggling horrendously with constipation. i agree with schro, wish i`'d tackled it with first baby asap. i think i may have to ask dr re op post baby(horror). i am going to look for all those products you recommended, does the anusol actually improve it or just stop the pain?. am also making whole family eat really high fibre diet Smile. don't think they've noticed so far but have minestrone coming out my ears. am suddenly massively tired and hungry too and the bump has expanded alot. had to stop for emergancy second breakfast between school run and patients this am. and have had second lunch and could do with 3rd one now. going out to dinner and don't know how i'll manage, can't let my little cousin down though. was so tired in supermarket earlier i nearly burst into tears and had to fight urge to sit on floor for a rest-probably the hormones.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 07/03/2013 18:15

Got appointment through for tues for the fetal cardiac centre, this weekend is going to drag.

PhieEl06 · 07/03/2013 18:27

Evening ladies, such a busy day I haven't checked since last night, had a much more positive scan today, was convinced, along with everyone else that Spock (mine & OH's name for baby atm) was a boy, well surprise surprise we're having a little girl! I am so excited, I'm off out shopping in a little while to buy all things pink!! But a bit sad as we can't use the name Henry now & we cannot decide on a name for a girl! (Henrietta is out of the question)

Bad & iclaudius hehe! We really do have a variety of age ranges.

Twinkle fingers crossed that you get a scan soon, hoping everything is okay, thinking of you! Xx

Totally if it was down to planning I wouldn't be starting at family at 18, OH is 22, but my unplanned bundle of joy has made me so happy! Smile My sister is 36 & her DH 42 & she's still trying to start a family.

Trust congratulations on the girl! Grin

I think I've caught up.

PhieEl06 · 07/03/2013 18:29

Twinkle oops didn't see your post before I sent that, at least they have got you a very speedy appointment, I hope time doesn't drag too much & sending hugs & best wishes your way!! Xxx

dinkystinky · 07/03/2013 19:20

Ah Vinegar - hugs to you and mini vinegar. Hope you both feel better soon x

Thinking - glad you're feeling better. Schro - hope the bugs in your house pass soon - and good luck re job.

Twinkle - really pleased you have an appointment so soon, make sure you plan lots for the weekend to keep you busy.

Princess - repeat to yourself this stage will pass, as it definitely will. Make sure you make some down time for yourself in your schedule. I find I have to snack every few hours to make my energy levels constant - mix of protein and carbs is best.

Trust - glad you found a pram and congrats on little girl. I think there a few on thread considering a home birth. Dh has vetoed it in our case and as I don't want him freaking out during the birth I a, going for a birth centre birth (where had ds2).

Congrats on scans and girl Phie - the girls seem to be outnumbering boys so far...

Got told in gym again today that my bump is huge and the baby is going to be a big one. Ho hum.

VinegarDrinker · 07/03/2013 20:00

Thanks all, he is fine, just hormones getting the better of me I think, I very rarely gave working parent guilt but hey ho. He is now in bed and his little sister is dancing a jig in there! Sorry to not do personals.

VinegarDrinker · 07/03/2013 20:01

have not gave

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 20:32

Phie Congrats on the girl. :)

Dinky Thanks.

Princess The anusol suppositories will help bring them down, buy either lactulose or movicol for the constipation (both are safe during pg) don't ever let yourself get to the point you are straining because if they are bad now they will be horrendous later if you have a vaginal birth. I don't think I will get rid of mines now. :(

Twinkle It's good you got the appointment so quickly. We'll all be here if you need some hand holding. :)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 20:32

Vinegar Don't feel guilty.
