PhieEl06 · 06/03/2013 22:06

Ginger, I'm 18 too, coming up to 19 before baby is born. Grin
Thanks Dinky, I'd be good to see how varied it is if we get bored one day, probably when we're 34 weeks & starting to get frustrated with being preggo. Smile

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 06/03/2013 22:36

Bad Interesting to know that about the hormone levels, I have really red palms and apparently that's a hormone thing too.

Dinky Will have a look on there, thanks. :)

I'm 22 btw, this will be DC2 (DS is 17 months).

BadMissM · 06/03/2013 23:16

Tee hee, Phie and Ginger I'm easily old enough to be your mother...I will be 46 before my LO is born!

Schro Red palms/feet hot/cold hands and feet and tingly nerve endings all neurological stuff (I have neuro problems, and had them before pg), they are all linked..

iclaudius · 06/03/2013 23:44

Phie and Ginger i COULD be your mum as my pfb is 20 and dd 18!

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 07/03/2013 06:55

Good news on all the scans

Ellie I went to physio yesterday re SPD and they gave me a belt which is supposed to lift my bump but didn't feel very lifted! Will have to see, he said it might not help much but anything is better than nothing.

Went for follow up scan yesterday as they thought some ventricles were measuring on the large side, turns out they think the baby may have a hole in its heart so we are being referred to the fetal cardiac centre in Leeds as its the closest specialist heart place to us, will hopefully get an appointment today, hoping its in the next few days so we can find out how severe it is.

21+1

TotallyEggFlipped · 07/03/2013 07:08

Twinkle I hope you get a scan appointment soon and everything is ok.

SundaySunshine · 07/03/2013 07:56

Twinkle fingers crossed for your scan, hoping for the best for you x

TomDaleysTrunks · 07/03/2013 08:13

twinkle good luck for your scan.

DH's manflu and my cold are easing off now - phew! This weekend we are travelling to Edinburgh for the rugby. My wonderful mum is having DD for the weekend so we can have a weekend to ourselves. I can't wait, although hate leaving DD behind. She's back to her chirpy self now - amazing how children bounce back. She keeps looking through my tummy button "to see baby".

Right I'm going to make notes on the thread now so I can do some individual replies!

Abzs · 07/03/2013 08:36

BadMissM good that your midwife is on side re the reports

Twinkle fingers crossed for you

I'm waiting for a builder to arrive, who will hopefully perform miracles on the hole in the wall that used to be a fireplace. Then we can the expensive stove we've set our hearts installed sometime before next winter...

Abzs · 07/03/2013 08:37

Sorry, can't type on a tablet it seems.

MightBeMad · 07/03/2013 08:37

Morning all!
Twinkle hope you get a follow up soon and they are able to reassure you. It's one of those things that is very treatable isn't it? Good news that it's been picked up this early and baby will get all the care it needs. Scans are amazing. I hope you and dh are not feeling too anxious about the news?

I was going to post and say I was suddenly feeling very old on this thread Grin (I'm 33). But missM has made feel reassuringly middle-of-the-road again Wink

I have totally lost track of the last few days' scan news. Congrats to all who had positive ones and phie, enjoy your private one.

Sorry to those suffering spd. It's horrid. Mine is really kicking off now, I suspect thanks to foolishly (in hindsight) lifting/folding double buggies when trying them out on Monday. Oops!

Right. Off to work to face the last day of a really stressful week and what promise to be some very difficult conversations. Wish me luck!

dinkystinky · 07/03/2013 09:07

Twinkle - hope you get your follow up scan soon. Please step away from Dr Google and wait till you see the specialists, hard as it may be - they only think there may be an issue, there may not be (as was the case with OhGood at her 12 week scan).

Mightbe - I'm 36 so exactly twice the age of Phie and Ginger. As I said, I think we've got the whole spread of ages on this thread, which is lovely as we all come at things from different angles and different life experiences.

Good luck for anyone scanning today.

Tom - lucky you! Enjoy your weekend away.

Wowsers we are all a chatty lot!

Well, I am sat in bed, taking it easy after keeling over at the gym yesterday - all highly embarrassing but have to say I was impressed with the gym staff! Been to drs andit just a "virus"with pos wee infection! DH has been dispatched with bottle of wee to take for testing - oh the glamour of marriage eh?

Have been enjoying my lie in and being toast in bed - Im wondering how long I can stretch this out for, as all 3 gremlins have been extr loving and snuggly.

Only down side is I keep ordering stuff on line that I really dont need - heyho!

22+1

VinegarDrinker · 07/03/2013 10:00

TomDaley have a fab weekend away!

Twinkle good that any potential problems have been picked up early and fingers crossed it is something easily manageable when baby arrives.

Sorry to hear about the collapse big. Definitely milk the rest/fuss I say!

I'm a bit glum today, DS started a new nursery 2 weeks ago, he only does 2 days and missed Tuesday this week as he was ill. He's still a little bit under the weather but I couldn't take another day off and I think he needs to keep the routine up so sent him in this morning. It was awful :( Proper sobbing, had to be peeled off me, begging me "Mummy not go to work". It is a truly lovely, tiny, very caring nursery and I know he will settle in very soon but it's heartbreaking :(

I cracked and phoned nursery a while ago (lovely manager was very indulgent of my hormonal neuroitocism, bless her) and as expected he is absolutely fine, just no fun for any of us having all that drama at drop off.

photographerlady · 07/03/2013 10:19

Twinklestarstwinklestars fingers crossed for you!

MightBeMad I will join you in oldville. I will be 31 soon but most the first time mom's to be I meet are a decade younger than me Grin

bigbelly4 nothing more romantic than husbands part timing it as wee couriers.

Vinegar hugs, I hope soon he will love it and dashing in to hang up his coat.

elliejjtiny · 07/03/2013 10:38

Thanks for the online diagnosis of SPD everyone. Got midwife appointment in 2 weeks so will ask for physio referral then.

mightbe I think mine was made worse by lifting buggies too. So many double decker buses on our route yesterday and I had to do a lot of lifting buggy and toddler on the bus.

twinkle hope you can get some reassurance soon.

tom enjoy your weekend away. Your DD sounds lovely. My DS2 keeps saying "the baby lives in your tummy near your bottom" and then laughing hysterically as little boys do. I will not be telling him about how the baby comes out Grin

bigbelly that must have been embarrassing. Hope you are enjoying your rest. It could be worse re the bottle of wee. One mum at baby group said that when she went into labour she had to do a wee sample and her DH had to hold the pot for her while she weed as she couldn't reach!

vinegar poor you and ds. My ds2 is one of those children who will get upset about going in to school if he's had some time off. He is always fine after a few minutes although I ended up worrying all day.

I'm 30 so in the middle of the age range I think. Thankfully not old enough to be anyone else on this thread's mum yet! This is my 4th baby.

dinkystinky · 07/03/2013 10:40

Ah Vinegar, you know it was just a combination of hormones, mummy guilt and DS feeling abit run down after his illness. He'll be fine when picked up and hopefully all fine again next week once he's got back itno the swing of things. DS2 is 4 and does that "mummy, dont go to work - I'll miss you" thing lots - it breaks my heart but I always assure him I'll be back home in the evening and explain I have to go to work to get some money...

BigBelly - glad you're ok. Definitely take it easy and let your gremlins and DH pamper you for a bit.

Abzs - a stove sounds lovely and cosy. V envious.

DS2 has taken to standing behind me and pretending to be the baby talking to DS1/DH/our nanny - its very cute. And both boys have taken to giving both me and the bump a bye bye kiss in the morning.

Ps spd/back pain sufferers, I have ordered a wedge cushion (filled with air) to sit on at work as my hips were getting abit tight. Arrived today and its really good. Helps raise hips higher than knees and also keep core engaged, posture corrected.

How is everyone doing on the hormone front? About every 4 days I have a good cry, like a pixar movie sad moment mixed with a basket of adorable kittens meowing sort of wailing. Its somehow turned into my DH making me dinner every night now I think he's sick of comforting me for no reason. Grin

dinkystinky · 07/03/2013 11:26

My hormones seem to have settled down abit for now Photographer - thank god. On the plus side your hormones are getting you well fed and watered Grin

Twinklestars I was born with a hole in my heart 45 years ago.... lots of them heal spontaneously, and the ones that don't they are fantastic at repairing now xxx

At least they are sending you to the right place xxx

Abzs yes, I was really relieved! I'd love a woodburner, but this house is rented....

Mightbemad Yep, I've made you feel really young!!! It just makes me laugh when they ask my date of birth 53 times!

Dinky Know exactly what you mean about Dr Google. Found out when I finally got the complete notes from the Parisian hospital where I had DD that I had an abrupted placenta (hence why I nearly bled to death), and then googled the figures...and wished I hadn't...frightened myself to death!

Bigbelly4 Be careful!!!

VinegarDrinker Always hard when they go back to childcare after a gap....makes it even harder....

Photograperlady MightbeMad I was 31 when I had DD...

ellie I hadn't even had one at 30!

dinky Hadn't thought of wedge cushion for that...have one I use in bed for bump support...

Still trying desperately to think of ANY boys names!!!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 12:21

Bad Could you possibly tell me more about this? I get hot feet and tingly nerve endings... GP said she thinks I am developing Raynauds but not convinced as I don't have cold or blue hands... Other GP said hormonal.

Twinkle My best friend since childhood was born with 2 holes in her heart. She's perfectly fine and active. :) I hope you get good news, try not to worry too much.

Ellie When you stand up from sitting, try clenching your pelvic floor while doing it, this should help support your pelvis when getting up.

I woke up today with a bump! A tiny pointy one but it's still a bump! :o

BadMissM · 07/03/2013 12:27

schro It can also be Peripheral Neuropathy and linked to nerve problems/damage. I have bad migraines and neuro problems, and get all of this. They think might also be fibromyalgia, but have had to delay hospital admission at Neuro Centre for full diagnosis, because of pregnancy/tribunal. They have this thoery can also be caused by medication overuse, but that's not going to apply in pg.

Best get them to test when you are no longer pg, then they can't blame it on that!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 12:38

They can't blame it on pg as I've had it for a year! They have no idea what it is.

I actually have a dx of fibromyalgia, I had this before the EDS dx so I don't know if they just had mistaken the EDS for the FM. Confused

Medication overuse... I take pregabalin daily and have done for 7 years, was also on tramadol and co codamol and various others but only the pregabalin and setraline now.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 07/03/2013 12:43

OMG... I think you're a genius. I have lots of those symptoms, including weird blood pressure, dizzyness, faintness, numbness, heat insensitivity, feeling full after eating little (I hardly eat because of this).

I was just saying yesterday to my family that I feel like my arms are going to fall off, this may sound weird to some but do you understand what I mean?
