Congrats Ama! Great news! Girls are fab (dc1 is a girl). I'm a bit thrown about the blue news - I won't know what to do with a baby boy Grin still, there is the excuse that we need new (blue) clothes now - that should keep me occupied until I figure it out Wink

MightBeMad · 04/03/2013 15:14

Ps hope your scan is going well photographer!

Phie we'll all keep our fingers crossed for a pink one then Grin

I like my h&m skinny mat jeans but they're a touch short (I'm 5'8"). I have next under hump ones in bootcut which look great but slip down the whole time!

TomDaleysTrunks · 04/03/2013 15:36

Popping my head in to say Hello. Have been thinking of you Huffpot.

Glad to hear some lovely scan news. Still got 8 days till mine. Things have been chaotic here; I had sinusitis then DD ended up admitted with pneumonia. She's now passed on her bug to both DH and I so we are full of snot again. The joys of toddlers!

Can't reply individually as on my phone but hope everyone is doing ok. Will dig out my iPad tonight and catch up on thread.

photographerlady · 04/03/2013 16:11

Scan was lovely, all looking healthy and we are having a girl!!

Thanks for the well wishes, I am over the moon and was lovely to see her wiggle around all over the place, put my fears of feeling no movement to rest :)

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 16:27

Congrats on the wriggly pink bump photographerlady -looks like the girls are currently outnumbering the boys on this thread...

Tom - so sorry you and DH are ill and DD has been so ill. Hope she's better now and you both get better soon.

Hai1988 · 04/03/2013 16:56

Sorry x post there, also a big congratz to photographer on.the scan :)

shelley72 · 04/03/2013 17:16

aww congrats on all the scans today. and so many girls too. you do all realise that girls are MUCH harder work than boys dont you Wink. i have a sneaking suspicion i may be having a girl too - DH said he will be buying another shed if thats the case!!! i may be completely wrong of course, i was convinced i was having a boy last time!

well my jeans from H&M arrived this afternoon, had completely forgot that i had ordered them ages ago so that was a nice surprise. i'm hoping for great things after the recommendations on here.

finished my painting job with not too much toddler damage though have consumed half a pack of chocolate digestives, that will be why the weight is piling on then and i am a bit tired now. nice early night in order i think as off baby shopping after school run tomorrow Smile and then we have the joy that is ikea Shock.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/03/2013 17:20

Just wondering if anyone thinks we should do a Blue/Pink/Yellow list on the stats thread???

CitizenOscar · 04/03/2013 17:29

Mightbe - sounds like H&M jeans would be perfect for someone who is around 5'6" (I'm 5'4") Grin

Sorry for double-post - am on the train with intermittent receptionBlush

MightBeMad · 04/03/2013 17:38

Congrats photographer! Great news!

And hai too. Glad your appointment went well.

Tom sorry to hear you've all been so poorly. That sounds dreadful. Hope you are all feeling better soon x

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 18:23

Totally - From what I remember of ds2s antenatal thread there was a sudden influx of new posters (almost a third!) about a month before the due dates started rolling in - I guess its an idea to leave updating of dc flavour till that stage or the list will be perpetually updated.

iclaudius · 04/03/2013 18:26

I would be interested in a collation of the baby sex numbers!! I always seem to be on threads where they're all girls and then I weigh in to redress the balance! ;)

iclaudius · 04/03/2013 18:27

Anyone know of any skinny leg jeans for tall 5 foot 7 plus pregnant women ??

Hai1988 · 04/03/2013 18:40

iclaudius I got some nice ones at george asda there not maternity but there a made of a stretchy material.

bigbelly4 · 04/03/2013 18:48

Iclaudius - got mine from boden, I'm 5'11 and they are just the right length- obviously got the lomg length rather than regular. Y
They are over bump but you can roll down the belly panel and it still looks ok.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/03/2013 19:09

I agree that H&M maternity jeans would probably be a bit short if you're much over 5'6".

Thinkingof4 · 04/03/2013 19:11

iclaudius I think there are a few of us on here with 2 or 3 boys and wondering if dc3/4 will be the same. I know you have even more, is it all boys you have? Shock. Boys rock!!
Congrats on the good scans for the 3 of you today, hopefully more good news with tomorrows scans.

Tom sorry to hear you and family have been ill too, sounds awful. There seem to be some terrible bugs going about, roll on warmer weather and hopefully fewer lurgies!!

I agree would be interesting to see gender breakdown once everyone has had 20 week scans and either found out/ not found out (would be interesting to see breakdown of that too actually!)
Team yellow here!!
22+6

AmaDablam · 04/03/2013 19:48

Thanks for the congratulations everyone and many congratulations on your scan and girl news too, photographer. Just curious, were you told you had an anterior placenta? That would account for the lack of movement you've felt. I found out today that I have one, which explains why the movements I have been getting have been very faint. The baby was wriggling around all over the place during the scan and the sonographer asked if I could feel her - couldn't feel a thing, except the scan-device-thingy pressing down on me! It's made me feel a bit better about the days when I don't seem to feel anything or doubt whether it's baby or tummy anyway. There's no doubt from today's scan our daughter is one very active little girl!

We were both a bit thrown by the pink news as we'd both been convinced she was a boy. We're over the moon nonetheless - so much so that I somehow found myself in Boots this lunchtime buying two very pink and girly babygrows (this from the person who said that a. she would never subscribe to gender stereotyped baby clothing and b. that she would make do with second hand and supermarket value, at least in the newborn size! Oops!)

Treated myself to some new bras too. Well I say treated, actually they are rather hideous, but the only thing I could find in my size that is anything approaching comfortable!

photographerlady · 04/03/2013 19:54

Surprisingly Ama my placenta is rear facing, I'm just a chubby girl and still might be mistaking little fast bits and pains for movement. She was really moving about in there so think its my large tummy's fault. Find anything nice at boots?

My DH has been convinced we were having a girl but see I'm a tomboy so having a girl will be exciting and scary (not to mention I'm a first time mom anyway), hope she like karate and playing football :)

Have great scans tomorrow orange bubbles and citizenoscar.

AmaDablam · 04/03/2013 20:13

Hi photographer, well whatever the reasons at least we have both seen our girls moving about on screen so I'm sure more definite kicks are to follow.

I got one long and one short sleeved sleep suit in Boots (they have buy one get one half price on all baby clothes). Although there's no mistaking they're aimed at little girls (or little girls' parents to be more precise), they are quite bold, bright pinks rather than the usual pastels which was why I liked them.

Haha, I'm sure you'll be fine with a girl. DH just said he is hoping ours will be a tomboy - one he can take climbing and mountain biking and who won't be interested in boys until she's at least 30!!

Good luck tomorrow's scanees!

BadMissM · 04/03/2013 20:32

Amadablam I have a definite bump, but my bellybutton is till there!

Grannyapple Have had the lurgy and have finally got some antibiotics today!

BB01 If I lie on my left hand side, the Lo goes a bit mental!

Dinky 23 1/2 weeks!!! Oooh! Book of Mormon...lucky you!

Shelley72 Just wish we had ANY maternity shops around here...have to get everything online...

Abzs I haven't even started my decorating yet...would help if I tidied the spare room first!

Mightbemad Congrats on little boy!

Ama Ooh, a little girlie!!! Congrats!

Phie After a girl then? Me too, in secret!

Photographerlady Another girl!!!

Shelley72 And I'd still like another girl!

As for me... very nervous about the anomaly scan on Wednesday...it's been weeks since last had a scan and am so terrified something will go wrong (previous experience, I guess)...

I'm just a bit worried, my age doesn't help, and I would really like to know the sex of the LO too..

Also stupid Tribunal have demanded medical reports and proof I'm fit to attend/unfit to attend, then want to know 'how long before I will be better after birth' Um, don't even know when or how giving birth yet? Plus I have all the pain issues I had before pg, and now have no meds for...

When do they want this? By Wednesday. Can't even get to see my frigging GP, had a stand up row at surgery this morning...they don't answer phone, so get bus down there...to be told 'phone not working'.... and that I should repeat charade on Tues and Weds on offchance I might see her. Finally see another GP who asks me what the hell I'm doing seeing him? Grrrr!

I'm not sleeping at night, morning when I catch up, and PGP/SPD so bad am now supposed to be on crutches...!!

My consultant obstetrician is on holiday...

Do the Tribunals think you might be an NHS patient and not able to whip up these things on demand? Guess they all have oodles of private Drs on tap at will....

So, a bit stressed out. Ex-employers also pissing aorund with witnesses again....

Rant over.... (you can tell I'm not sleeping....!)
