Photographerlady I was told to drink 500ml and I have to go for a repeat scan on weds and she said make sure I do again, better to be able to send you to the toilet than struggle.

trustissues75 · 04/03/2013 09:48

Probably best then to go in with a full bladder...isn't it funny how there's so much conflicting advice/instructions out there form the health professionals?

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 09:52

Shelley - am having a surprise (found out first 2 times though). I like Seraphine jeans - my bump is humungous but can still fit in the under the bump ones I had from when I had ds1. Am surprised your gloss painting with the spd - please be careful that you dont cause yourself pain. Good luck deglossing the toddler.

Photographer - I just drank a cup of herbal tea before my 20 week scan (was first thing in the morning) and was all fine.

Off to see The Book of Mormon tonight - cant wait!

Photographer instructions for both 12 and 20 for me were have a 'comfortably full' bladder. Was told off for it being too full at 12 so didnt bother for 20 and was no problem. In fact she still sent me to the loo halfway through to get better view...

So many scans coming up Im almost as excited as I was for mine a couple of weeks ago! Good luck everyone!

shelley72 · 04/03/2013 10:41

trustissues75 yes things always look good on the model, sadly i am not model like! i took the jeans back to new look last week, as they didn't stay up. i am off to gap tomorrow so will look in there, though i notice they have one of their 30% off events at the end of hte week.

dinky - its only going over the second coat of a door frame i have to do today, DH spent most of weekend sanding, priming etc and then we ran out of paint on the last bit! i am sure that dulux make paint pots just that little bit too small so you need to break into another (which then stays in the shed for the next ten years). i like to help, but do admit i am suffering a bit for it today. can i be really nosy and ask why you found out at the scan with the first two but not this time? will check out seraphine, probably on ebay as i dont want to spend a fortune for a few weeks. can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone. and i wont ever be pregnant again Sad

photographerlady good luck for later, have always been in and out really quickly with my appointments.

Abzs · 04/03/2013 11:05

Spent the weekend decorating here, too. Small bedroom for a small person with paper stripped and relined (DH has learned a new skill), just waiting for it to dry out before painting and keeping fingers crossed that the myriad cracks in the ceiling never start moving again.

Got my first taste of DH being offshore while I'm pg, just for 4 days this time; he's going on to a 2 on 2 off rota for a while and buggering off ski mountaineering twice in his weeks off (I only mind because I'm Envy, I'd be going on the second trip if I could) so I'm going to have to be a bit more self reliant.

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 11:12

No problem at all Shelley - found out with DS1 as couldnt wait (too excited and actually glad I found out as gave me time to wrap my head around having a little boy), found out with DS2 as DH and I were again too keen to find out (and DS wanted to know what sex it was). This baby is most definitely our last so figured may as well wait to find out what sex it is when it comes out.

Just had the weirdest sensation sort of like a sharp squeeze round bump but not sure if it's a braxton hick or if it's too early for them, any ideas?

Sashabella0 · 04/03/2013 11:28

Dinky. I went to see The Book of Mormon on Saturday. It is so funny I want to go back!

I'm having an op on my little finger on Saturday following my dog walking accident. Il have to be brave as its under local!

I think I'm last to have my scan in the group. 25h March Hmm it'll be here soon enough though.

Gingerpanther27 · 04/03/2013 11:28

22+1

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 11:34

Sounds like a braxton hicks Ginger.

Good to hear you enjoyed it Sasha. Hope the op goes well - just take headphones and some music and close your eyes and imagine yourself far, far away.

Congratulations on the good scans. Welcome back Shro, good to have another EDS/hypermobile mum to be on this thread.

DS3 has been moved from the cot to a bed this week so I am currently propping up my eyes with matchsticks. We were planning on dismantling the cot but I thought we'd probably lose the screws so I just took all the bedding out and it's waiting for the next occupant now.

I'm struggling with my trousers falling down so just bought some over the bump jeans online and hoping they will stay up. If not I will have to try and find some dungarees.

AmaDablam · 04/03/2013 12:41

Just having a sneaky check in at work to say all was fine this morning and it looks like Bob (our nickname for bump) is actually more of a Bobbie! So happy relieved and excited and can't wait to meet our little girl now Grin

Congratulations mightbe and looking forward to your news photographer - hope you don't have long to wait...

PS I was told I didn't need to have a full bladder as long as I didn't pee in the 15 mins before scan. I think it just depends on the hospital and their particular equipment.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/03/2013 12:56

shelley I got H&M maternity jeans. I was sceptical about them staying up, but they've been great.

CitizenOscar · 04/03/2013 13:04

I'm really liking my H&M skinny maternity jeans. Still need to wear a belt with them but they're over the bump & v comfy (a bit long as I'm a bit short Smile).

Scan tomorrow - excited & nervous! 22 weeks now so feel like I've waited ages. Going to find out the sex if s/he cooperates. Whole family is convinced it's a girl (based purely on the fact we already have a boy - erm, not sure that's how it works!) but I think it might be a boy. Just have to wait and see!

Congrats to everyone else having scans etc. Feels like another milestone passed. Over half-way now!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 04/03/2013 13:37

Ellie Thanks. :) What have you planned for the birth? Anything in particular?

Still no bump at all but have now felt a couple of movements if I press down that feel like somersaults!

esme80 · 04/03/2013 14:03

Congrats Ama and mightbe fab news!

dinkystinky · 04/03/2013 14:09

Congrats on the girl Ama - one of each so far today. Wonder what Photographer is going to have...

OP posts:
PhieEl06 · 04/03/2013 14:12

Congratulations Ama, this is getting me extremely excited now! Need to have more faith that my little one is a girl seen as me & DH have a bet running on it, seemed like a great idea at 12 weeks now I am convinced its a boy & I do not want to loose the bet where I've said girl. The silly things we do to pass the time! Smile

PhieEl06 · 04/03/2013 14:14

I mean OH in my other post oops, if my boyfriend found me referring to him as my husband just yet he'd probably have a heart attack!
