meg just ask your supervising partner that they get you a birthing pool in the office, you can give birth there!

photographerlady · 27/02/2013 11:01

Morning all! I am addicted to peanutbutter and jam sandwiches at the moment. Poor fellow commuters smelling my morning breakfast everyday on the way in. The new commute is an 1hr 30 each way but I've discovered a documentary series on the I player so bit zoned out. Poor little omelette inside me must love or really hate the bumpy sway of the train everyday. Maybe that's why I'm not feeling movement cause all I feel is train vibration for three hours a day.

Hai congrats on the girl!

Cut I was going to go on 29 heehe but going to move it back to 33 weeks and enjoy some sunshine.

Iclaud I hear you about the starving thing and my husband keeps buying junk food! He must of put on a stone or more since I became pregnant.

VinegarDrinker · 27/02/2013 12:35

I thought you lot had all gone quiet but weirdly this thread just dropped off my TOI list. Random. Off to read and catch up!

Thinkingof4 · 27/02/2013 13:11

ellie sounds like you are taking the news really well, you are obviously a strong person and you will be just what your dbaby needs when they arrive. I do think forewarned is forearmed with stuff like this so it's good you are getting support at this stage.
badmissm how on earth do you remember what everyone has posted about? My mind goes pretty blank when I start typing

I hope everyone else who is ill is a bit better. I think I am on mend now but really struggling to find anything I can tolerate eating as I still feel sick. Paranoid about starving the baby ( I know baby is fine really) and feeling quite emotional really. Poor ds2 is still flat out, he has spent 2 days just lying on couch, crying for juice every so often Sad
I hate my kids being ill and will make every effort to be thankful for their return to full health when it comes!!

PhieEl06 · 27/02/2013 13:16

Afternoon all, been so busy the last few days I haven't even had time to check MN, will have to have a read through & a catch up in a little while. Brought my first item of baby clothing yesterday, wasn't going to yet but I saw it in passing & just impulse brought, it was too cute not too! It has "mummy's & daddy's new alarm clock" on the front of it hehe! Grin
Hope you're all well anyway. Smile

Hope everyone is enjoying ths sunshine?

Been for scan this morning, all ok apart from couldn't check all of heart as my stomach is too soft (fat) from previous pregnancies and one of the bits of the brain was measuring right on the top end of normal for fluid so I have to go back next week. Has anyone else had this?

MightBeMad · 27/02/2013 15:40

Twinkle I haven't had my scan yet but I hope they manage to get some clearer measurements next week that put your mind at rest. And don't forget 'top end of normal' is still 'normal' and hopefully nothing to worry about.

Glad you are feeling a bit better thinking. Poor ds2 Sad

Have managed to coax the boiler back into life which at least means the house is a bit warmer. It will be sods law though that it will be behaving itself when the engineer comes tomorrow and he won't be able to work out what's wrong (again!).

MightBeMad · 27/02/2013 15:48

Ps for any other toast addicts - I've just discovered Burgen Sunflower and Chia seed bread - heaven!! (usually go for their soya and linseed one but this is even nicer!). And it's apparently 40% rda of omega 3 in two slices which makes me feel less unhealthy loading on the carbs! Grin

shelley72 · 27/02/2013 15:58

somehow this thread has disappeared from my list so have just found you on active convos!

sorry that lots of you are poorly with various bugs and ellie you sound as though you are coping with your news very well. its good that they are keeping you so well informed of what will happen and when. i think uncertainty is far worse than knowing what you can prepare for.

as for me, still no visible bump - met old colleagues for lunch on monday and after an hour i decided to tell them the news as they hadnt realised. and got asked by the dentist why i was exempt from paying for treatment this time. i must just look fat Smile.

am having my first pregnant hormonal teary day today - nothing has gone right and have officially given up on today, i'm now in my PJs having done the school run! i am suddenly really anxious about my children - about them getting seriously ill, terrible things happening, not being able to keep them safe etc. god knows where all that has come from. i am feeling very out of sorts today. still having PGP / back pain which is driving me mad (as is the untidy house as all but essential housework has been put on hold) but back to the osteopath on friday so hopefully that will ease things a bit.

and at least the suns out now Smile

elliejjtiny · 27/02/2013 16:18

iclaudius I am indeed the authority on hypermobility Grin. How old is your DS? It's often hard to tell with children under 5 because they are all quite bendy at that age. When DS2 was 1 he used to sit with his legs out in front of him and then bring his legs right round (doing the splits half way!) so they were behind him when he wanted to crawl. Are you or his dad hypermobile? It's caused by a dominant gene so one of his parents will have to have it too but a lot of people have it really mildly and don't realise until someone in their family develops it more severely.

Thanks for all your comments. I think it really helps that DH is being so calm about it all. He's also been phoning and updating the relatives which has been good so I don't have to deal with MIL saying that dr's make mistakes all the time or DH's Grandad's "information" that he has discovered via google. DH likes to have something useful to do so it works out quite well. Also I have 3 boys who are just desperate for a baby brother or sister and they don't care if he/she has a cleft lip or 3 heads! I do panic though, mostly about feeding problems and whether I'll love him/her when he/she is born, although I know the 2nd worry is daft. We are seeing the cleft team on friday so hopefully we will know more then. I'm hoping that my baby's face will look "normal" after the first surgery although all the vague references to jaw rewiring and bone grafts are making me nervous as they won't happen until later when he/she will be much more aware of what's happening.

21+5

Huffpot · 27/02/2013 16:20

Just wanted to let you all know that no heart beat was found at my scan this afternoon so will be being induced next week.

I wish you all the best of luck and beautiful, bouncing July babies

Hai1988 · 27/02/2013 16:21

Afternoon all, hope you are all well :)

Everyone who has had scans hope all went well and to those who have them.coming up good luck :)

Couldnt really say much yesterday as was so overwelmed by all the txts and fb messages i had to reply to from well wishers.

But yeah scan was good, all is healthy, i have been told she is a very leggy girl, leg lenght is off the chart Shock

Also have an high anterior placenter which explain the movements being so gental and light.

She said the heart vessels are brill dont quite no how but a strong heart is always good.

Felt quite guilty tho as when they looked at her stomach she said it was empty and it made me realise i had forgot to eat anything that day before hand Blush Sad so needless to say will be making sure im always well fed now!

Really want a 4d scan to see our lil girl again but dh is refusing to pay for one :(

Is anyone else gonna be having one?

elliejjtiny · 27/02/2013 16:44

So very sorry huffpot. As I said before to flying, if you feel up to letting us know whether you have a boy or a girl, weight etc it will be lovely to hear from you.

elliejjtiny · 27/02/2013 16:48

hai1988 I've got a 4d scan booked on 12th April. We get it free because they are trying to get a better look at baby's lip but I'm quite excited about it. Never had one before. We wouldn't be having one if it wasn't free though as there are other things that are higher priority [boring emoticon]

photographerlady · 27/02/2013 16:58

huffpot so sorry to hear you and yours will be in my thoughts ((hug)).

Hai1988 · 27/02/2013 16:59

Just wanna meet DD now :) July seems so far away :(

TomDaleysTrunks · 27/02/2013 16:59

Oh huffpot, you know where I am if you want to chat. Was a bit worried as you hadn't been in Facebook for a while. Thinking of you and your family .

MightBeMad · 27/02/2013 17:45

Oh huffpot. There are no words. I'm so so sorry.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 27/02/2013 18:17

So sorry to hear your news huffpot

MrsMillions · 27/02/2013 18:38

Huffpot - so very sorry to hear about your scan, please look after yourself and don't rush anything.

Seems so petty in comparison but I really need spring to arrive soon. Not much room left in my winter coat and I don't want to have to buy a new one for such a short period of time. Sadly I hear rumours of a white Easter, so my request may not be met...
