Been busy with work at the min...got to cover for a ill colleague and have to take extra classes and marking to help the poor kids who have been taught nothing all year!
No half term...only five Weeks till end of term and mat leave startings'! ,

JethroTull · 25/05/2013 19:20

We bought a buggy today!! Grin

HadALittleFaithBaby · 25/05/2013 19:24

What did you get jeff?!

Not long to go pink then? Sorry to hear its hard work covering your colleague. Only 5 weeks though! :)

Well safe in the knowledge there's an expressed bottle and family who are going to tag team bottle-bath-bottle I'm having a nap!

JethroTull · 25/05/2013 20:31

The bugaboo chameleon & the be safe izi go car seat. We looked at loads but kept coming back to the bugaboo. We got it from a factory outlet type place & it was way cheaper than anywhere else. And the car seat was half price.

Enjoy your bath Faith

JethroTull · 25/05/2013 20:32

Bath? Nap even!

FriendofDorothy · 25/05/2013 21:12

Ahhh we are home after a week's holiday with my inlaws.

We all survived although I was getting quite pissed off with some fairly passive-aggressive comments about parenting etc from my MIL.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 26/05/2013 19:12

Congratulations on surviving dor! Best it's nice to be home :)

We've been having a luffly weekend with MSB's cousin and wife staying. We all get on really well and they've been very hands on with Faithlet so I feel like its been a break for me too.

My new pump is ruddy marvellous and I'm starting to get great results expressing now. Put it like this, I've got enough today for a bottle tonight and made a start on tomorrow's! :)

HadALittleFaithBaby · 28/05/2013 17:36

My baybee has the reflux Confused GP has prescribed infant gaviscon. I do think/hope it helps. Last night she had gripe water and she fed for 15 mins/snuggled for 15 mins (and repeat) whereas normally she feeds non-stop and screams when off the boob. The snuggles were yummy!

How is everyone?

Over halfway now jeffers! and not long pinky.

ftw how you getting on? I have to say you and your baybee are stunning! :)

MsJupiterJones · 28/05/2013 17:49

Oh no Faith reflux is tough. Hope the meds keep everything on an even keel.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 28/05/2013 18:12

In some ways I'm relieved he agreed with our suspicions. 15mls is a lot to get down! I just hope they help. It's rubbish when she's all jiffly and then pukes all over herself and me! poor mite!

MsJupiterJones · 28/05/2013 18:24

Does she take the ig straight or do you put it in ebm?

HadALittleFaithBaby · 28/05/2013 19:34

Tried it straight before BF - she took 10ml ok. Now giving it on her evening bottle...

JethroTull · 28/05/2013 19:53

I know Faith it's going so quickly. Loads of time left though right?!

Reflux? Puking?

HadALittleFaithBaby · 28/05/2013 21:46

And poo that smells like butterscotch... Hmm

fertilityFTW · 28/05/2013 22:39

Aww, thanks faith!

We're alright - bit sleep deprived and trying to figure out this breastfeeding business. The MW signed us off - apparently we were quite popular on the ward and with the MWs Grin - they said they'll be looking out for us in a couple of years! Made GB shudder!

BabyFTW had a couple of days of just feeding for 5-7mins and then refusing - and then needing to be topped up 30-45mins later, which has made for some rough nights. Then she had a couple of greeny poos which freaked me out. Based on my reading I figured that I was alternating breasts too regularly and she was getting too much foremilk - so digesting it really quickly, getting really windy and also developing a slight nappy rash from the acid content :( So I stuck to the one boob all of last night and switched this morning. Thought I'd ask the HV about it today, but what do you know - she lengthened her feeds and was right as rain today. HV agreed it was probably too much of one and said to stick to emptying the breast and then washing it down with a bit o' the other. She's had some proper feeds today and some big poos - which has thrilled me to bits!

Can't seem to get the hang of winding well thought Hmm - GB is a genius winder. I call him The Gas Man.

The chameleon looks great jeff - we'd put off getting a pushchair in favour of the moby wrap till we figured out what was what - I'm regretting it now. Where would this factory outlet be, if you don't mind my asking?

FriendofDorothy · 28/05/2013 22:51

I am rubbish at winding, but then again The Little Mister isn't a very windy baby - not from that end anyway!

My little baby has gone into his own room tonight sniff.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 29/05/2013 03:47

I'm not good at winding either, MSB is excellent. They reckon blokes are better because they have bigger hands and aren't as delicate with baybee. Faithlet is a very windy baybee but is producing more burps with the gripe water. Seems to be encouraging them up!

Does he sleep through dor or are you getting up to him?

Sounds like you're getting on well ftw! I imagine green poo would be scary!

Yes plenty of time jeff, you'll be grand! :)

fertilityFTW · 29/05/2013 06:11

Aurgh! More green poo!
HV says not to worry unless tis 'frothy' as well.
But still.
It's green poo!

JethroTull · 29/05/2013 12:27

It's in Ilkeston FTW - google Stork Talk - I think they have a few more of them around the country & also do an online business but you get better deals by going to the outlet (it's on an industrial estate & looks like a shed!!) We are definitely going to get some sort of sling / carrier as well as I think I'd be more confident walking the crazy dog with BabyTull in a sling at first rather than having to contend with the buggy.

All this feeding talk blows my mind & makes me panicy so forgive me if I don't comment too much Blush. It's actually my biggest fear - like I've said before along with actually giving birth. My FiL's partner is a yoga teacher though & is really experienced with yoga techniques for birth so she's offered to do some sessions with me over the next few weeks to help me relax - I feel better just thinking that I will have some techniques to use.

FriendofDorothy · 29/05/2013 14:43

The Little Mister still usually wakes about 2-3ish and then 5-76ish.

Last night he went ti bed at 8pm, woke at 3am for a feed and I put him back into the cot and then woke again at 5.30 and he came into bed with us at that point.

pinkr · 29/05/2013 19:05

hey all! Been off grid as work has gone mental due to absence and mat leaves! Still only four Weeks to go thank goodness. Got exam marking for the next few Weeks so i'm looking forward to being off!

HadALittleFaithBaby · 31/05/2013 08:12

You getting on ok with little Mister in his own room dor?

Are you counting down the days pink?

Well I had a moment on the night - excellent news - Faithlet slept from 10-4.30! (My boobs were like rocks). I saw a pregnancy announcement and all I thought was 'How nice'. Wasn't til 6.30 when MSB was getting up I realised there was no bitterness, no I wonder how long they TTC'd for. I think I'm moving forward. Just having some scrummy skin to skin. Suddenly I luff my baybee very intensely! Took a while to kick in.

JethroTull · 31/05/2013 19:55

How long to go Pink?

FriendofDorothy · 31/05/2013 23:00

SO far so good I think. He wakes up a couple of times a night and I try to put him back in his cot, but sometimes he ends up staying in bed with us!

We have had a lovely day. The Little Mister and I got a boat to a small island with some friends and we sat on the beach. It was beautiful and The Little Mister had a lovely time eating sand!

pinkr · 01/06/2013 05:16

I'll be 32 Weeks when I stop! School holidays then start and I officially start mat leave 12th August when we start back. I'm due the 22nd August.
Have had to give up my exercise classes, was hoping to go till I stop work but I had a scare (intense stomach pain that I now think was muscular or stitch) and mr df has put his foot firmly down (very unusually) and told me that's me done. Tbh at the tine I was terrified I'd damaged my baybee or myself really badly and so I should just be grateful we're ok!
