eek same here - mine said to me last night 'god do you not think about anything else other than food?' err actually no - my day goes like this food/worry/sick/work/food/worry/work/sick/food/sleep !

jm233 · 06/02/2013 11:24

Thank you all so much for all your kind words.
I'm doing fine, and DH and friends and family are all being fantastic, although not many of them know about little bean. I think the thought of this baby is what has kept me going through this and not turning me into a complete wreck.
I am really really looking forward to the 12 week scan at the end of this month though, I think it will (hopefully) be a little ray of sunshine in the middle of a really crappy time!

Thank you all so much again, I love my Mumsnet Thanks

Kittenkatzen · 06/02/2013 11:29

fl0b0t sorry you're feeling so crappy - maybe when you have your bloods done the general rubbish feeling will mask the effect of the blood tests? Maybe?! I really hate having it done too - I said to the nurse when I walked in the I was quite likely to pass out so she flipped the chair back flat and put a cool fan on my face. Didn't stop it happening but I did feel better a little quicker :o

Massive hugs to you jm Thanks

batfuttocks · 06/02/2013 11:45

Fl0b0t - look away now.

I HAVE SUSHI!!!!

So happy. It's taken me three days of craving to find some. Obv the non raw kind.

I'm gonna get me some wasabi soy heaven going on when I have picked up dd from nursery. Hurray for m&s at services on motorways (only a 40 mile round trip. Easy.)

Creamtea1 · 06/02/2013 12:02

bat did you really do 40 mile round trip for sushi?? That is serious craving! Love your sushi dedication :)
(look away flo)
It's a marmite day here

jemimahpuddleduck · 06/02/2013 12:15

bat I love that you drove that far for sushi!

I'm on wheat crunchies (tomato) and freddo's. Making sure I have no otther caffeine as worried about chocolate in take.

Can definately get on board with the cheese and coleslaw jacket.

Sorry Flo I can manage to read about food smelling it is another matter!

Thanks JM glad you have support.

batfuttocks · 06/02/2013 12:33

I did indeed. Cleared m and s of their supplies. ( also of fish cakes and salmon....must be missing something!)

Am eating it now. It. Is. Amazing.

SGJ · 06/02/2013 12:37

Oh dear. Am 80% of the way through a seafood risotto and my stomach has turned. Can manage another bite.... bleurgh.

Kittenkatzen · 06/02/2013 13:13

SGJ that happened to me yesterday with a bowl of homemade chilli - it was amazing until 3/4 through when my stomach just went "no thanks".

bat loving your sushi dedication :o I'm a massive fan of proper sushi, haven't been able tbring myself to go into an itsu and not get raw fish yet though - too disappointing!

I have just snuck a bag of Cadbury mini eggs into my desk drawer at work (share? me? never!) and OH MY GOD they are about 5 times as amazing as they usually are - highly recommend for anyone with a chocolate craving you can't have mine though bugger off and get your own!

Creamtea1 · 06/02/2013 14:25

Whoever mentioned kinder buenos a few pages back has a lot to answer for..mmm

kipsonline · 06/02/2013 14:57

Hello to the new thread! Can't believe you are on to page 8 before I have had chance to mark my place!! Loving catching up on all the news....
Jm I am so so sorry to hear your unexpected news and hope that you can negotiate the minefield of grief and pg hormones, it sounds like you have great support which will make all the difference....
Creamtea, eek, manoodle and batfuttocks I am in the same boat as you expecting DC3. Ours was a v big surprise (but one that i had longed for) and DH is still struggling to come to terms with the impact on our lives... We haven't told anyone yet and I am petrified as I know the reactions will be v similar to the negative ones you have experienced, esp as I am a high risk pg given chronic health issues... I'm hoping DH starts to share my joy at the 12 week scan in just under 2 weeks, at least then we can face the world united..... At least I know my 2 DS will be excited, they will make super brilliant big brothers and are always asking about babies....

Creamtea1 · 06/02/2013 15:17

kips same here - 2 ds already constantly asking about babies, can you buy them in Costco etc!

fl0b0t · 06/02/2013 15:38

haha sorry kips those of us esp off work with severe sickness are so bored all we can do is click refresh (of F5 for those swanky tecchie types!)

Thanks for saying marmite creamtea- I had marmite on toast and a good friend over for a chinwag and actually felt really good. It's amazing how much the pressure of keeping the bloody secret adds to the sickness! I kept down two bits of toast and marmite - smuuuug!

DMAX currently has my attention- "Pregnant and...." Current episode is "Pregnant and I have Cancer". Then Call the Midwife, then One Born Every Minute!

Kittenkatzen · 06/02/2013 16:06

YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNN

Is anyone else struggling this afternoon? I am ridiculously tired...literally just want to put my head on my desk and go to sleep. But theres still 90 minutes left in the office, and then a 90 minute commute home :(

CheeseStrawCraving · 06/02/2013 16:37

Re sushi everyone..... My midwife says I can eat supermarket sushi with no probs, raw fish and all as it's always flash frozen.... Also most English soft cheese like Brie as long as you check it's pasteurised. I'm off to stock up...

Massive hugs jm Thanks

fl0b0t · 06/02/2013 16:52

I'm loosing it a bit on the cheese conversation! I did notice that mozarella is pasturized cheese but parmesan is always unpasturized? either way cheese is pretty much out at the moment anyway!

BinarySolo · 06/02/2013 17:08

Hi everyone, I was on the December bus but totally missed these threads until now!

Expecting dc2 on 7th September and have the first scan on 21st of this month. Been feeling knackered and pukey, far more than with ds. Have told a few close friends and family but waiting until the scan to let everyone know. Can't wait.

hackneybird · 06/02/2013 17:20

Oh JM I am so sorry to hear your news. I lost my Dad very suddenly and I know how shocking it is .xxx

Peabody25 · 06/02/2013 17:25

Ooh loving the sound of the kinder bueno! Smile

Hugs to jm and a hi to everyone else, theres too many of us to name check sorry!

Been off work since mon with fluid in my ears causing room spinning dizziness from Sunday! Not too dissimilar to a hangover from hell Hmm

Docs prescribed some cyclizine which should help dizziness nausea and sickness fingers crossed!

Hope everyone else is doing okay?

Wincher · 06/02/2013 17:32

I have just had to text dh to ask himto pick up some mini eggs on his way home!

fl0b0t · 06/02/2013 17:42

Not quite on a pooh-level, but I just did the most amazing 10 second long sustained tone fart and feel much much better... it didn't even smell.

The cat did not look impressed though!

Kittenkatzen · 06/02/2013 17:54

fl0b0t that just made me actually lol on the train GrinBlush

wincher I ate half the bag! Thought I was quite restrained tbh. Although I have also eaten a pack of s&v chipsticks, a burrito, a cream cheese bagel and a satsuma today. And have told DH that I NEED chinese takeout for dinner tonight. Seriously if I don't end up with a BMI of 153 off the back of this pg I'll be amazed!

juniper904 · 06/02/2013 18:12

I've been off food altogether, but today it has really hit. I desperately want Vietnamese for some reason. Quite specific!

Also have been having cravings for fish, but have been a veggie for about 8 years so not going to break it readily. The prawn cocktail crisps scratched the spot but I really want some oily mackerel.

Kittenkatzen · 06/02/2013 18:15

Isn't it one of the B vits you get from oily fish? Maybe a supplement would quell the craving for you?

batfuttocks · 06/02/2013 18:36

Had more sushi for dinner. Yum. Although cheeky ds ate two packets from my stash, the little bugger!
