Pad Thai is yummy and not too spicy, I'm sure they'll do it without prawns if you are nervous but it's cooked in a wok and will be sizzling hot so I'm sure it's fine of you want to indulge. It does sometimes have peanuts on top though so might be worth asking about that.

Whatever you have, enjoy! Smile

Kilkers · 15/02/2013 18:57

Green or red curry all the way, yummy.

dietcoke, yes always with white wine and celery for dipping too!

Got my 12 week scan date today, 11th March so I'll be 12+4 which isn't too bad. It's seems so far away, I think I might go totally bonkers!

EmmaDee · 15/02/2013 19:27

Just ordered an Indian!! All this talk of curry was making me crave spice!! Enjoy your Thai!

KamikazeeKid · 15/02/2013 20:05

Your food conversation has made me crave spice too ..... So after I are tea I made myself some veg samosa and onion bhajis from the freezer! Nom nom nom. Grin

CheeseStrawCraving · 15/02/2013 21:03

Kilkers - forget the healthy celery, I'd go for warm ciabatta dipped into garlic and rosemary Camembert. With a nice glass of chilled white of course. Want. Now.

In other news, had chip shop cod and chips for dindins, bluddy scrummy. Nom.

batfuttocks · 15/02/2013 21:44

I can't stop eating prawns. I am obsessed and its something that seems to happen to me in every pregnancy!

Had seafood linguine tonight. Prawns, mussels, squid, clams and scallops. Yum.

All cooked, natch.

kimjayne · 15/02/2013 22:07

Im normally all about the prawns, scallops,.smoked salmon, paté, brie, yoghurts, wine and cups of tea ... But I've gone off all of the above over that last month or two. I can't even look at seafood now.
I feel like all im eating these days is chicken, veg and rice with juice (colder the better) and biscuits. Anyone else gone off all their fave food?

batfuttocks · 15/02/2013 22:19

I had, but at twelve weeks am getting my old tastes back. At last!

Wincher · 15/02/2013 22:54

I have had a Indian takeaway and a glass of red wine tonight, yum!

LexyMa · 15/02/2013 23:13

been out to a trendy bar in southwark this evening. had a massive burger and chips, nursed a glass of red for about 2 hrs. then got myself a virgin mojito when I was confident everyone else was mid-round.

on tube home now and really want to curl up and sleeeeeep...

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 15/02/2013 23:41

I have also treated myself to a glass of red tonight. 12 w today.

My mum texted to ask how public she could go. I said no Facebook but face to face and phone calls with family ok.
Fair?

I am normally a sea foodie but all this talk of prawns etc isn't doing anything for me.

I do love Thai though. Anyone had waitrose green Thai chicken soup with ginger and lemongrass? Mmmmmmm

Where do I get green and blacks salty chocolate??????

Also, major question - bras. When do you have to go soft cup?

SGJ · 16/02/2013 02:50

With bras it's just a case of whatever's comfortable to you, and I think the belief that underwriting can interfere with breastfeeding/milk production is only applicable if your bra is ill-fitting. Good reason to treat yourself to lots of lovely new underwear!

batfuttocks · 16/02/2013 08:30

Morning. Anyone else been given cyclogest to sustain the pregnancy for the first twelve weeks? I am meant to have stopped it yesterday but its faintly terrifying to do that. I am twelve plus one today and only have one left so need to be brave! Scared it will start me spotting or something. (Had low progesterone and luteal phase defect so gynae prescribed these when I got my bfp).

kimjayne · 16/02/2013 08:42

Food related question - I really fancy egg on toast for Nellie today which is quite a break through! Have been avoiding eggs so far due to risks but also the thought of them knocked me sick. If im cooking it myself and it's lion stamped do I still need to hard boil it? Really fancied scrambled.

kimjayne · 16/02/2013 08:43

Haha please replace the word Nellie with the word breakfast in my post! .... Mental phone!

batfuttocks · 16/02/2013 08:58

Lion stamped is fine.

badguider · 16/02/2013 09:01

Kimjayne - official advise is yes, should be hard. But official advice explicitly says this is due to salmonella risk and lion stamped eggs are definitely only from chickens vaccinated against salmonella.
So personally I am eating runny yolks. It doesn't make any sense, I guess it's one of those occasions where they think its easier to keep the advice simple.

jennimoo · 16/02/2013 09:02

I had scrambled egg for breakfast, but I add milk and cook it through so that is fine anyway.

jennimoo · 16/02/2013 09:04

The adding milk doesn't make it safe, that reads wrong! Instead of leaving them a bit raw I add plenty of milk which means they still taste soft after being nuked in the microwave. I'm avoiding soft yolks / raw eggs but if I really wanted one I think I'd risk it. Driving the car is far more risky, should just get the bus everywhere too I guess ;)

andadietcoke · 16/02/2013 09:11

I've had poached eggs. I just made sure all the white was properly cooked. I read that as long as they were lion stamped it should be fine.

Blanketsandpillows · 16/02/2013 09:13

Hello lovelies...I've woken up panicking this morn! I'm 11+2 but other than exhaustion have had no symptoms at all. I don't have long to wait for my scan (Tuesday) but I'm convinced there is nothing there. Arghhh this waiting game is no fun!

KamikazeeKid · 16/02/2013 09:22

I caught salmonella from eggs but abroad that ended in a mc for me :-(

OP posts:
Kittenkatzen · 16/02/2013 09:37

Urgh, all this talk of eggs is making me feel quite queasy Envy. On the other hand I now have a massive craving for a Thai jungle curry and sticky rice! Reckon I can send DH out to find me that for breakfast?! Grin

I seem to have completely gone off meat that looks like meat at the moment which is a bit weird. The thought of a chicken breast or beef curry makes me want to gag, but something like crispy shredded beef from the Chinese or a filled tortellini is fine. I think it's a textural thing.

Kittenkatzen · 16/02/2013 09:39

blankets try not to panic I'm sure everything is just fine! It's around 12 weeks that symptoms are supposed to ease up anyway isn't it?
