I've had Stilton and pâté a-plenty - don't worry about it ladies :)
Even my legs feel fat today, I am the Michelin tyre woman!

badguider · 15/02/2013 15:07

Melted brie is absolutely fine if it's really hot through. All the cheeses that are not allowed are fine cooked. Grin

Be careful with how much meat paté you eat though creamtea - it's generally liver based and you shouldn't eat much liver as it's too high in vitamin A (aside from the normal listeria danger which i'm a bit more relaxed about).

EmmaDee · 15/02/2013 15:15

Ooh I didnt realise you could have the cheese cooked! Hmm.. need to find some deep fried brie for dinner!

fl0b0t · 15/02/2013 15:27

We baked a camembert last night :) I ate more than I have at any meal for over 3 weeks and regretting it today :(

badguider · 15/02/2013 15:28

Yes, I'm holding off till i'm REALLY desperate then going to find a restraunt that sells deep fried brie :)

badguider · 15/02/2013 15:35

How long do you need to bake the camembert for to get it really hot through? (I'm planning to do this on the ski holiday if the others go to the cheese shop).

andadietcoke · 15/02/2013 15:36

When I bake it I bake it in the box, pierced with a fork with garlic smeared over and covered with foil and do it for 15 mins covered and then 15 mins uncovered. Is normally completely melted by then.

Kilkers · 15/02/2013 15:38

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, quite nice with the odd bit of rosemary shoved in the top as well as the garlic. Drool!

Creamtea1 · 15/02/2013 15:48

badg yes have just had the odd bit of toast with thin spread of pâté, always stop at 1 slice even though would like more!

amiready · 15/02/2013 16:02

Is everyone eating prawns? My midwife said not to but the NHS choices website says shellfish is fine if cooked. But who eats raw shellfish?? The only raw shellfish I can think of is oysters! So presumably this means mussels, prawns, shrimps etc. all fine?? As long as cooked??

amiready · 15/02/2013 16:08

I'm so bored today - I am supposed to be revising for my exam but felt soooooo tired and just had to go back to bed for an hour or two.....noooooooooo energy.......

Really want takeaway fried prawn balls this evening.....

jm233 · 15/02/2013 16:15

Yuuuuuummmmm... Baked camambert with onion marmalade... It's been too long!!! I love chicken liver pâté too... The really basic non fancy stuff is the best!

I'm definitely getting a tummy, although like everyone else I suspect that it could just be poo and gas and crumpets. But- has anybody noticed their belly button looking different? I think mine looks like its stretching.

badguider · 15/02/2013 16:19

I'm eating hot cooked prawns and will also have scallops and mussels (though dont' fancy mussels right now).

I am avoiding cold prawn and other seafood cocktails.. just because they can often give people food poisoning.

JammyTummy · 15/02/2013 16:22

jm233 with name change here- got bored of looking at those numbers, thought I'd change to incorporate my jm's though.

EmmaDee · 15/02/2013 16:34

In relation to the prawn thing, my mw said that prawns are fine as long as they're cooked properly. She said shed prefer you to buy raw prawns and cook them yourself rather than the precooked ones!

Thank goodness don't think I could go 9 months without prawns!!

jennimoo · 15/02/2013 16:35

Until recently the nhs guidelines said to avoid cold seafood but that changed last year I think during my SILs pregnancu, and she was gutted she'd avoided them all the way through when I mentioned it.

badguider · 15/02/2013 16:48

My book from NHS Scotland given to me at booking in says 'Avoid raw shelfish when you are pregnant because it can contain harmful bacteria and viruses that can cause food poisoning. It's ok to eat shellfish, including prawns, if they have been properly cooked."

amiready · 15/02/2013 16:50

Thanks guys, fried prawn balls it is! What a helpful bunch you all are!

andadietcoke · 15/02/2013 16:53

kilkers and white wine (normally).

jennimoo · 15/02/2013 17:04

I really want baked Camembert now!

Have eaten about half as much as usual today as (hoping I'm not speaking too soon...) feeling less sick the last few days. And at the scan yesterday they weighed me which have me a shock, tried not to look at the conversion but think it was a stone over what I was before Xmas! I was wearing lots of clothes, and my boots, and had full bladder. I also stopped BF DD at about 7 weeks so that probably doesn't help... Aeadt if sickness is reducing I can at least eat a little healthier rather than just feeling guilty...

astroming · 15/02/2013 17:16

The early scan was fab, there is a little spartacus bean in there.8 weeks today! Please can someone add me to the list my edd is the 26th Sept.

Sorry to hear all of you who are suffering with sickness, in my first pregnancy i found eating sherbert lemons every ten minutes or so staved off the nausea....so did smelling the tin although that must have made me look like a crazy lady....

Dorita75 · 15/02/2013 17:52

10wks today too, edd 16th Sept, I have short cycles so think that's why it's different to some others who are also 10wks.

Last 2 nights I've gone to bed at 10pm not the usual 8pm and feel exhausted today! I'm amazed at how much sleep I'm getting, 11hrs normally.

I've got a little belly, feels hard under the inch of fat, and by evening it definately sticks out a bit.

Great news on your scan A-sorry on phone and can't scroll, baby brain means I can't remember your name properly! So sorry!

KamikazeeKid · 15/02/2013 17:56

Stop talking food I'm starving lol!! I'm off out for a Thai tonight and lots of seafood dishes suppose you have to trust the restaurant?!! I've never eaten Thai before so not sure if I'm going to encounter a menu of prohibited foods!!!!

Anyone a Thai food connoisseur? ?

I was violently sick this morning I removed all bile from my insides I'm sure ewwww

JammyTummy · 15/02/2013 18:14

Kamikazee- Thai food is super scrummy! They have quite a lot of spicy stuff too (I loooooove the Tom Yum soup you get at the Thai... Nom nom nom). I'm pretty sure the only thing there that can give you concern is the seafood though, depending on which way you're inclined!

andadietcoke · 15/02/2013 18:23

Ooh. Jealous. I love Thai. My favourite is yellow curry with chicken. I'm a bit of a spice wimp though!

I'm not normally bothered by chocolate but I've just discovered Green and Blacks with sea salt. Really really wrong, but completely amazing.
