I was expecting the free prescription form at my booking apt earlier this week. The MW said that they don't issue the form until 16 weeks. I tried to encourage her to sign it as I'm asthmatic and need a few prescriptions a month but she was having none of it - she advised that I take my notes to the pharmacy and sometimes they'll issue free scripts or I could try telling them that my card was on its way. If she advising pulling a fast one I don't understand why she wouldn't just give me the form?

My symptoms seem to be improving, not sure if thats good or bad? Confused

amiready · 07/02/2013 18:59

Hi craving. My midwife gave it to me at my booking appt. I have never heard of the 16 week rule and there is nothing on the form about it. You can also get it from your GP though. I think there is lots of confusion about the different forms and she probably thought she was telling you the right thing but had got it mixed up.

jennimoo · 07/02/2013 19:08

I got my form done at GP appointment at 5 weeks!

Dorita75 · 07/02/2013 19:10

This thread moves so quickly I have real trouble keeping up with it!! So sorry I'm not name checking...

Manoo I'm glad you're trying to relax for now. We haven't discussed it much ourselves, mainly because we're not discussing much until after the 12 week scan...

amiready I told my pregnant with no2 friend I really wanted a poached egg and she was surprised I didn?t just have one. Thanks for asking the question! I?ll be looking for lion stamped eggs this weekend!

badguider well done on getting through the week, hopefully you?ll start feeling better soon.

hetty I?m 8+6 and have a belly, more pronounced in the evening which makes me realise it must be mainly food going slowly through my tubes! Though surely the growing uterus must be taking up some room too?

I have a strange aversion to our kitchen. It doesn?t smell but to me, it has a strong smell that sent me dry retching up to the toilet before. I can?t go in there in evenings without sticking my nose and mouth inside my jumper. My mum was sick when she saw net curtains, and my grandma, when she looked in the garden so looks like I?m just carrying on a strange tradition. Anyone else having massive reactions to ?smells? that aren?t smells to anyone else?

frogchops · 07/02/2013 19:12

Evening everyone....have just spent a whir catching up.
We haven't officially named bump but someone at work called it beano which I quite like.
And speaking of bumps, I'm stressed out as mine is actually a bump. At 7+5. Midwife at work says its just bloating and due to my water infection.
DP and I are kind of together on most things apart from he says we are definitely finding out the sex. I say we are definitely not!! Who's had this discussion yet and not agreed!?

BinarySolo · 07/02/2013 19:14

I got my form at 5 weeks too.

Manoo we moved when ds was 2 weeks old. It was ace as I got out of the carrying! We did the reverse tho and moved to a village!

Whyriskit · 07/02/2013 19:31

Manoo - I do kind of understand where you're coming from. DH & I have an appt with the genetics team tomorrow to discuss testing. Both boys have random and unconnected genetic conditions, so we feel we should probably have testing. It's the part after the testing I really don't want to think about.

BinarySolo · 07/02/2013 19:48

Dh wants to find out the sex but I don't. I've argued that we found out last time so it's my turn to make the decision! I had a friend that used the bump names moriarty and boris. Was so tempted to nick moriarty!

SGJ · 07/02/2013 19:48

Regarding naming the bump, my sister has always called hers Olive since her 'what to expect' book told her that it was the size of an olive! I thought that was quite a nice idea.
When I was pg with DD, however, we were slightly less cutesy and one day when discussing ridiculous names my DH suggested Rotund Bitchface and unfortunately from that point on the poor bump was called Rotunda!!

SGJ · 07/02/2013 19:50

Ps I am so bloated at the moment that if I don't hold my stomach muscles in I could quite easily pass for 6 months pg! I'm only 10+2!

PurplePoppySeed · 07/02/2013 19:56

I'm confused about forms too. I already have the free prescriptions form (also got it at the booking appointment) but I didn't think you got the MATB1 until 20 weeks? If you can get it earlier then that's great news as you can use it in my area to get a train upgrade to 1st class on your season ticket, so I'd love to get mine earlier!

Creamtea - did you say you have yours to fill in?

cravingformilk · 07/02/2013 20:00

Haha that made me smile SGJ I think I'll wait for a bump before we start thinking of names - naming my many rolls of fat just isn't quite the same Grin

My guess is they are holding back because she could issue the form and I could technically MC, maybe? Bloody GP surgery! I'm awaiting the results of a urine test, she dipsticked it at the booking apt and it showed signs of a urine infection - if it come back positive then I might make a fuss with the GP about it. I don't like to miss out on a freebie Wink

Babyboo79 · 07/02/2013 20:20

I'm the same SGJ, soooo bloated at the moment. I think it could have something to do with the pizza I insisted on eating for dinner last and cold for lunch today...

Having strange cravings for sour food tonight. I really want cola bottles but I managed to find a packet of love hearts at the back of the cupboard that have just about hit the spot...

Babyboo79 · 07/02/2013 20:25

OMG, so happy. DH has reminded me that we have some cola bottles! He worked for a sweet company for a while and I forgot he has a big stash Grin

frogchops · 07/02/2013 20:26

I had my exemption form at 5 ish weeks, I've already had some stuff on free script so I duno why some of u can't have it yet?

I'm not really craving anything although I did just think, hmmm McDonald's chips would be ace.
I have horrible heartburn though, which due to the absence of any other symptom whatsoever, I'm really quite chuffed about it!

frogchops · 07/02/2013 20:27

Nice find babyboo! We have cake, mini eggs, kitkats, crisps. I'm just mehh about them which is very unlike me.

Creamtea1 · 07/02/2013 20:41

poppy I had my free prescription form thing already, sorry got confused earlier - don't get the matb1 until 20 weeks.

Another jacket potatoe for dinner, with Heinz beans and sausage! Mmm and I also have sour cola bottles in the cupboard, and kinder buenos, and creme eggs! Fully stocked :)

Manoodledo · 07/02/2013 20:54

whyriskit good luck with your apointment tomorrow.

KamikazeeKid · 07/02/2013 20:55

I got my prescription form when I saw my Dr at 5-6 weeks you are entitled for the whole of preg im sure! I didn't have my card thru and my dentist didn't charge and sainsburys chemist also allowed me free prescriptions?? The lady said they can check and the form I signed at dentist actually gave a legal warning about lying!

Less constant nausea here but still sickly on and off but my life....am I tired!!! Hit 9 weeks yesterday.
I named my DS as a bump as bean my hubby calls this baby bean but I can't as that was my DS! If everything's ok at the scan im sure ill name bump again!

Me and DH agreed last time and this time we don't want to know the sex. Its a great surprise. Whilst yes I would love a girl so I have one of each I would be just as happy with another boy, just want bubs to be healthy! if we had differing opinions he would let me decide though I'm sure....as after all.....we ladies do all the hard work ha ha!

I have to rant,....

On the way to work today I saw a mum driving along texting with one hand, fag in the other, toddler loose jumping inbetween seats AND on a busy school road. ...what is up with people??!!

KamikazeeKid · 07/02/2013 20:57

Dorita, I have the same problem with kitchens, toilets and peoples breath!!!

Rosyisgonnabeamummy · 07/02/2013 21:23

kamakazi have you seen that fb video of a teen girl texting. It's fairly graphic and quite realistic regarding the emergency response - except I don't think they had to wait 40 min for a ambulance! But that's another story .......

I am amazed that me and dh were on the same page about nucal scan. The midwife asked at booking and I said 'its nit something we have discussed yet but I want all the tests'

We went for dinner after and I said this is what I think but I will discuss if you disagree. He said exactly the same as me which was such a relief.

I was undecided about finding out sex of babe, but actually my mum said it helps dads bond with the bump. And at the moment the bump is being referred to as 'he'. He is called ned. Dh choice of bump name.

My midwife said to me to take preg notes to all apts even dentist - that way they will usually waver the fee. Luckily my drugs are dispensed at surgery so they know I'm excempt.

badguider · 07/02/2013 21:38

kitten I'm in Edinburgh and there's tons of preg yoga here. Literally tens of google results. I'm starting 'fit and healthy preg yoga' on Tuesday which is about me and staying fit. From about 15-20 weeks ill also do 'preg and birth' yoga at a different place which is more about birth preparation.
The first is at my yoga studio, the second is at the local 'pregnancy and parenting' centre.

KamikazeeKid · 07/02/2013 21:57

This one? Reduced me to tears about the unresponsive parents :-(

andadietcoke · 07/02/2013 22:05

Definitely finding out the sex(es). I dreamt that it was two girls and that DH was traumatised, so think he needs time to get used to the idea if it is.

At the moment they're very occasionally called Luke and Leia. DH likes the idea of being able to say 'Luke, I am your father'. He's a geek. I've definitely come round to the twin thing now and the thought of something happening to one of them occupies my worried mind constantly, so trying not to jinx anything by counting my chickens!

Creamtea1 · 07/02/2013 22:57

I know people will say I'm mad, but I would love twins! Don't ask me why, I don't really know why-perhaps I am just mad as would then have 4 kids..
