It worked \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=24864&topicid=1700&threadid=170048&redir=24864\here she is }
The dvd is better though - you can see her scratching her nose and yawning - it's so lovely :)

So you are due 1 week before me? :)
Do you know if it is a boy or girl?

AP - gorgeous picture! Must make it feel so real...

This is the buggy I am considering:

any thoughts?

pinkdolly · 04/05/2006 08:58

Morning girls,

Jom- I bought a Maclaren Techno classic for the new baby. I bought it just after christmas as it was on offer, saved over £50 on rrp. Anyway, have been using it with dd2 (3 in August). Also my sister's little girl has been in it several times (she is now 6 months old).

I can understand your concerns about using it for a newborn but it's what I intend to use from day one. I have had allsorts of pushchairs (have needed to with my dodgy back), I find the techno classic very easy to use, lightweight, easy to get around the shops etc. My neice who has been in it since a couple of months old has been fine in it.

In the end tho it's what you feel comfortable with. Having had 2 myself I have done the big bulky pram thing and it's not for me.

Welcome to nixnoo, word of warning you may want tocome on here daily or it will take you for ever to catch up with all the posts. We are a chatty bunch.

Welcome back to aggieP, glad your holiday went well. Am so Envy of your 3d scan, I would love one. Bit of a cheeky question how expensive was it?

Well have a good day girls, I hope the weather is good where you are.

HumphreysCorner · 04/05/2006 09:58

Morning ladies

Firstly-a big warm welcome to nixnoo and congratulations hun. Grin I have added you to our stats list. Do you know what you are having?

I have bought 2 rolls of Baby Jungle border from Ebay yesterday-I went on and it was buy it now and had only just been listed so I grabbed them-2 down and 2 to go. At least we can match the border to some wallpaper in a shop as it doesn't matter when the border goes up.

Aggie-what a gorgeous picture. How lovely having a DVD as well. Glad your hols were brill.

Am still in awe of you all that keep your babies in your room. Will try and beat 2 nights that DD stayed with us this time but doubt it somehow-just can't stand the snuffling and snorting.

dangirl-good news for you. Does still sound like you will have your baby first. We will eagerly watch this space.

Got weighed.......................................................13 stone Blush Shock. Is far too much for a 5ft person so no wonder I am struggling to get about and as for night time-wide awake and can't get comfortable at all.

Watched the Beverley Allitt docu last light-can't believe it was 15 years ago! How distressing for all the parents involved Sad.

It is another lovely day-taking DD to the Wacky Warehouse after nursery-meeting up with my friends and children so she will be worn out by tonight-bless.

Byee for now and hugs to all.

((xx))

AggiePanther · 04/05/2006 10:17

Thanks ladies:)
pinkdolly - it was supposed to be £190 but she only charged £150 in the end because the little madam wouldn't really show her face properly. We were there for an hour and a half and she measured and checked everything first too. It's a bit pricey but we decided it was a once in a lifetime expense as this will probably be DP's only child as I've had so much pain we don't think we'll go through it all again. How's your pelvis btw?

Straightforward · 04/05/2006 10:30

Mornin'!

Welcome nixnoo - did you know that we have a separate thread with our stats on now, which is really helpful for due dates etc? It's \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2290&threadid=167989&stamp=060427101807\here}. Bit late now I guess, but perhaps we should have added whether it's our 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc...? I'll add mine if you will!

Had my 28 week midwife visit yesterday (though was 29 weeks!). All well - she said I measured small for dates (call this small!!??!! Shock) but that's because lo is lying across and the measurement is taken top to bottom. Had a student midwife too who took my blood and then a massive bump appeared where she'd taken it - it was bleeding inside. It did hurt, but I felt more for her as she was absolutely mortified and didn't stop apologising! All flat now, but massive bruise appearing Grin.

Right - going to sit in the garden for a while and give myself the morning off!

oooh and PS - fab pic Aggie! Glad I don't have a DVD of my scan though, as I'd never get anything done for watching it all the time Grin!

AggiePanther · 04/05/2006 10:35

Thanks SF.
I've added my girl to the list - and put that she's my 2nd :)

Straightforward · 04/05/2006 11:02

Just spent 30 mins trying to make stats into a table to make it easier to read but it didn't work!! Still, it's up to date! Reading some of those names made me realised that we haven't heard from a number of people for a while now - hope all's well.

HumphreysCorner · 04/05/2006 11:06

Have added DD to the stats-loo roll sheets optional Grin

Chat2Ali · 04/05/2006 11:28

Hello All!
Welcome Nixnoo, and Welcome Back Aggie.

Just got back from GP for 30 week check-up. All encouraging and baby healthy, so I am happy.
Bumpybel - thanks for the tip about the prescription antacid. Dr gave me one for a vat-ful, so hopefully relief is on its way. Not that I get heartburn every day, just about every second. I find its worse if I eat dinner later than 6.30pm, or if I am very active. Anyone else have the same?

HC - Great news for you about the wallpaper borders. Have been following the saga over the last few weeks. Had to check out the jungle theme when I was last in Mothercare. Its very cute. Now I am seeing giraffes everywhere too! H&M have a cute onesie with a giraffe on it...

I am very excited because one of my best friends is coming from the US for 2 weeks and arrives tommorrow. Shes leaving her 3 + 1 y.o DS's with their Grandma, and we are having a last-chance girly trip. Going to Amsterdam on Tuesday for a mini-break, and am very excited about visiting the best chocolate shop in the world. It is called Puccini if anyone finds themselves in Amsterdam any time soon. Thankfully Dr gave me a certificate/letter to fly, so all is good.

Chat2Ali · 04/05/2006 11:32

Meant to make a comment about annoying DH's. Normally I love to complain about mine given a chance, but he is in the good books at the moment. On the last Monday bank holiday (gosh, its been a few days since I last posted) he hired a Rug Doctor and cleaned all the carpets. The place looks great, and I can't get mad at him for anything for a while Wink

spub · 04/05/2006 14:07

Hi gang and welcome to the newbies.
Haven't been on for AGES so am totally out of the loop.
Saw my consultant on Tuesday and the elective section is now booked in. Ladies, I am having my boy on Friday 30 June (can I please stay in the July antenatal group?Grin).
Must admit I am shi**ing myself and it suddenly all seems very real!
Have chronic backpain and my elastic brace isn't really doing it, plus some protein in the urine but hopefully, no problems of any note. Baby is also lying across me so I have to lie on my left and also try to lean forward with knees below pelvis for a wee bit each day.
I think I mentioned before that I had my heart set on some really expensive fabric (£23m !) for the baby's curtains. I paid just £23odd on EBay for 5 bloomin' metres of the stuff! Bargain of the year. Am well chuffed and now just need to get the curtains made.

Hope you are all fab, well, bumps a blooming and happy!

pinkdolly · 04/05/2006 14:18

AggieP- Missed your pic earlier, she is lovely.

Re pelvis- Had a rough couple of weeks, mainly with my back. But DD2 ran into me the other week, right into my pubic bone (ouch).

Been doing hydrotherapy, it's great to move about but it hurts afterwards and makes me soo tired. They are trying to strengthen my core stability muscles.
Sleeping is getting difficult coz it hurts to turn over in the bed but there we go.
How about you? How have your aches and pains been?, not too bad I hope.

puddytat99 · 04/05/2006 15:01

Hi everyone

Sorry not posted for a while, not been very well. Took a tumble at the beginning of the week. Everything is fine with baby, still kicking the living daylights out of me. Made a bit of a mess of my left foot. I really should add more water to it Grin.

Went to our second antenatal class yesterday and discussed drugs. As only mum who's been there before was asked what I used, any good, etc. Had an epidural with DS and said I wouldn't have one again and they all looked shocked.

Feeling the hot weather, hands and feet swelling up a bit, I'll keep an eye on it just in case. Can't believe I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow.

HC - Good news about the border. Good luck with getting 2 more.

AP - What a lovely picture!!! She's so cute.

My friend does massage and is coming round next week to give me a pregnancy massage. She's recently set herself up in business and vists people's homes. I'll be her first official pregnant massage, can't wait Grin.

Hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather and not feeling too hot. Take care

deblaca · 04/05/2006 18:15
  • thanks dangirl - will do .... and congrats on your boy same EDD and sex!!
  • Aggie your little girl is gorgeous
  • nixnoo the icandy looks very similar to the bugaboo but i'd want to 'road test' it first
  • Spud looks like you may be the first to hold you're lo
  • No stretch marks here either but i have read that they can appear overnight (or at least v suddenly) quite late on so definately keeping my fingers crosssed too

We had our second antenatal class this morning - which was great - we were trying out positions and have totally realised that my DH won't be able to support the new heavier me, i think it shocked him to realised how much heavier i am and that's with another 9-10 weeks to go - the man need to start his weight training, pronto!
What a fabulous day today - hope you all enjoyed it. xx

janeOT · 04/05/2006 18:54

Hello all

Havent messages for a while been busyt with work and sitting in the garden SmileSo bear with my bit of a catch up!

Bumpybel: We've painted our nursery white and really pale green goes quite well I think didnt want yellow which would have been the obvious choice!

Deblanca: hear you on outgrowing mat clothes, such a pain really dont want 2 buy nething elst for 9 weeks!!

Nixnoo: WELCOME!!

Kayzed: I've got to have a re-scan c/o low lying placenta but their leaving it till I'm 37 1/2 weeks!!! Seems REALLY late to me but midwife says its not worth re-scanning any earlier than this!! Anyone else having this problem??

So lovely weather but struggling to enjoy it properly between my fat ankles, HUGE bump, extra sweatyness (Nice!!) headaches and nausea......better be worth it!! LOL Grin

Speak soon TTFN

maewest · 04/05/2006 19:35

Hi ladies, just popping in briefly to say hi before I go out to book group (and before dh chucks me off my laptop as his pc has finally given up the ghost). Just spent a really blissful 5 days in Cornwall, lots of slow ambles on the beach, good food, and my libido reappeared as well - result!

Welcome to all the new mums and hope all are keeping well. And what's all this about wallpaper - our babe is lucky that we repainted at all!

AggiePanther · 04/05/2006 19:53

Evening all,
Thanks for all the nice things you said about my girly :)
Spub - I reckon a few of us will be in June and a few in August, but we'll all still be members of this thread :) - must be weird knowing the date exactly though - at least you can plan - is there a world cup game on the 30th?

Pinkdolly - I'm pretty good during the day, but I know what you mean about turning in bed - it's agony - oh and getting out for a wee which I need to do about 3 times a night ..I think the pain wakes me then I can't go back to sleep cos I half need to wee. Haven't slept through for about a month - still I guess we'd better get used to no sleep eh?
Sorry to hear about your fall puddytat - hope you're ok soon

Straightforward · 04/05/2006 20:41

Oooh spub - that's my DD's birthday, so it's a good one! It was also World Cup Final day (she'll be 4 this year), and I remember someone coming into the birthing room and saying 'if anyone's interested, Brazil just won the world cup'. Think my reply was short and to the point...!Blush

jom · 04/05/2006 21:07

Aggie -How gorgeous! What a lovely thing for your DD to have!

Pinkdolly - I bought my Maclaren in Australia and haven't seen it here, its called Vogue but seems very similar to the Techno. I don't really know what I'm too worried about as your comments about the weightiness of the more trad. type prams did bring back memories of me lugging one in and out of the car. Its just like I said some of them seem sort of sturdier/cosier and more protected for the first couple of months when your LO seems so fragile. (If this makes sense) I might just wait until LO arrives and see how I feel with him/ her in it to make up my mind.

By the way, no stretch marks as yet but am seriously going through the Palmers cocoa butter to try and avoid them and my belly button is officially out! Smile Will have to do the loo roll again as its been a while!

Just read my message and seems a line was deleted! But I think you can still get the idea of what I had to say. Hopefully Wink

jom · 04/05/2006 21:30

Its back! Don't worry about me, its either my computer or more likely myself having a meltdown! I think an early night is in order.

Sweet dreams everyone Smile

nixnoo · 04/05/2006 21:57

Evening,

I did the loo roll test - 9.5 squares......

Gorgeous day today but I feel really puffy now.
Not that I am complaining!
