Erm-wallpaper???????????????????????????????????????????????? DH hasn't even collected it from the shop. Infact, he has done no more to the room since sometime in April. I would like to have a photo of me standing in the 'finished' room next to the cot with bump standing out proudly. Hmmmmmmm-watch this space.

Nighty night

kayzed-Baby Jungle is all in stock now but as DH said he was ready for wallpaper 2 weeks ago????????????????????????????????????????? we had to order some plain yellow from a shop to match the colours in the border. But he is not ready for it and never will be at this rate and I am so annoyed about it now being in stock and wish I had stuck to my guns and waited. Didn't want to hold him up though-huh-he's held himself up-gggggrrrrrrhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! At least we have the borders now courtesy of Ebay.

Deffo off to bed now.

Morning ladies!!

Just thought I would share this:
My DH was given a book by his brother called "The baby's owner munual" which is in the style of a computer programme manual. I flipped through it a few times, but didn't really get into it, but DH has been reading a bit every day and has become super-educated! Has been telling me things I didn't know Blush. It has really good content, but in a fun, non-scary way (dare I say : suitable for men who get freaked out easily?).
Anyway, it was a great gift, might be good for yourother halves?

Here is the link on amazon:
www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1931686238/qid=1148455718/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl/202-2466811-2290255

Also feeling large and SLOW at the moment.

I like to change the lyrics to "my lump" to "my bump, my bump, my lovely baby bump"...
I think we should make a list of songs our babies respond to! Mine likes "Fever"

Morning

HC why do men seem to take for ever to do anything? Can totally sympathise with you. Also at the wallpaper, I bet if you had waited it wouldn't have turned up.

Does anyone know how to put pictures on here and I will put on a scan pic from yesterday.

Wasn't someone else having a scan yesterday as well???????

Hope the SPD is better all those suffering. Sciatica was bad enough, can't imagine what SPD must be like.

Not long to go now. We will all have to start trying the getting you going methods at 37 weeks.

We could start a list:

sex
curry
raspberry tea
walking (if we can by then!!!!)
fresh pineapple
bouncing on a birthing ball

Not sure how well these might work, add any you know of.

HumphreysCorner · 24/05/2006 09:22

Morning ladies

TMI-I seem to want to poo all the time-perhaps I will lose weight Grin

jersey-let's look at the list:

sex-fat chance
curry-hate curry and so does DH
raspberry tea-detest any tea you can't put milk in
walking-yes but a struggle with current predicament
fresh pineapple-yummy
birthing ball-there was one in the room last Wednesday which is about as big as me so would need a step ladder to climb up

hmmm-pineapple it is then-does it work or will it mean more poos?

Hope you all have a good day despite the horrendous rain.

jersey · 24/05/2006 10:46

HC don't know I tried last time but didn't seem to get any where. I also hate curry!

Tried raspberry tea when in hospital and although it didn't start anything then, when induced they where surprised how quickly everything started, so might be something there.

The rest no idea but worth I try if possible Grin.

puddytat99 · 24/05/2006 11:02

Hi Everyone

Hope you and your bumps are all well today.

Loved the 'My Lump' song, think I'll be singing that today. Mine likes the Kaiser Chiefs, very loud Grin

Only 2 days to go at work but have to go back for one or two training sessions mid June. Tomorrow I'll be 34 weeks Smile

Also had a clumsy moment last night as I got out the bath. Thought I could put my foot on the side of the bath while I dried it. Caught it on the towel and ended up putting it across the bath to the opposite side Blush Shouted DH because I couldn't pull it back on my own. Not usually that flexable when not pg. Must have looked a right sight when he walked.

As for the list

sex Physically impossible
curry Only like Kormas, so not hot enough
raspberry tea Hate all tea
walking (if we can by then!!!!) Might manage to get to the freezer and back for the choc ice cream, probably not much further
fresh pineapple Prefer juice, than fresh
bouncing on a birthing ball I'm already using my gym ball for my back ache which has really helped. So can't wait to start bouncing, though not when we have company due to the size of my boobs (might injure someone Grin)

Well I'd better go and get wet again as I've got a dentist appt.

Annie29 · 24/05/2006 11:33

Morning ladies and bumps,

Hope you are all feeling ok today. HC hope you're not in too much pain. Regarding MIL, she was even worse at the start when Ds was only a few weeks old, but I threw a post-natal strop, so now she's more careful, but still just does whatever she wants really. She's like a selfish little girl really. Anyway I won't go on about it anymore, sorry folks! FIL drives me mad by explaining carefully to me everything that DS does and why, (even though I can see and hear perfectly well...) Ok I'll shut up now.

Skived off yesterday from work, but there wasn't much wrong with me really, apart from tiredness. I'm lucky really when I hear about all of you who have so much pain.

IamBlossom I go numb as well, so when I wake in the night, whichever side of me I'm lying on is numb, so it takes about ten minutes to roll over... Ah the joys...

Jersey so good to hear about your scan and all being well. Would love to see that picture.

So then, have a good day everyone, rest up if you can... Seven weeks to go, seven weeks to go.........

Annie 32+6

IamBlossom · 24/05/2006 11:47

Well last time we tried:

sex (farcical)
I walked lots (very amusing as i got tooted by a white van as they saw me from behind which raised my spirits immoderately, until I saw their look of horror and shock when they drove past and saw my ENORMOUS bump)
raspberry tea (fairly gross unless you put 3 sweeteners in it)
but what I think really did work is fresh pineapple. No hardship to eat, and i ate 2 whole ones in a week and DS was 5 days early.....

LOL Puddytat - I've got a lovely image of you on a Birthing Ball Knocking out the MW ... Just when you need her the most.Grin

As for the list:-
Sex - I'm far too big!
Raspberry Tea - Does it HAVE to be RASPBERRY!
Walking - Get puffed out just doing the school run.
Bouncing on a birthing ball - Puddytat's just put me off!
Curry - If my diet is anything to go by, I should have had it by now.
That leaves pineapple...... I may just have to try that. 2,3 or more? Advice Anyone.

Twirl · 24/05/2006 12:20

Hi everyone
Have had a terrible week - have had lots of uterine tightening (v. painful) and contraction like things on and off over the weekend. I put it down to the fact that I had been overdoing it, and when I rested everything stopped. Yesterday morning my bump was so tight and contraction like things started up again so was sent to hospital by midwife and had to spend the afternoon there being monitored in case it was pre-term labour!!! I never really thought I was in labour but got worried because they were worried. Anyway, everything is ok, I'm back home with orders of 48 hours bed rest (with a toddler! ha ha...). They don't know what it was but suspect it was a warm up for the real thing. So, 1 false alarm for me. Just to make you all laugh, when I got told to get to hospital I realised that DH had taken the last tenner from my wallet and I couldn't find any taxi numbers so had to hobble round to next door neighbours for a lift to hospital - totally freaked her out to see me having contractions even though she has 2 kids of her own. Moral of the story is put a tenner in an envelope by the front door with a taxi number next to it! I felt like such an unprepared fool!!! Blush
Very envious of Wallace and Kbaby feeling so great Envy!
HC & Spub - I have 2 different belts for my SPD. 1 is like a giant elastic tubi-grip which covers bump and bum (great support if you are walking around but uncomfortable if you are sitting down as it rolls up on you), the other is a normal belt with padding which you wear at the very top of your thighs to pull your pelvis together (v. uncomfortable so don't use it much).
Great news about your scan Jersey - I'm really pleased for you.
And to finish off this huge post - I ate a whole fresh pineapple when I was 2 days overdue and went into labour 6 hours later! Still can't face pineapple now.....

Shazeroo · 24/05/2006 13:51

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for all your welcomes- never been on a chat site before so it was nice!! Glad to know that Annie and Kayzed live close... I've been reading back over some of the messages on the list and it's reassuring to know that some of you have had the same problems as me! Swollen ankles (got a shock the first time I saw them as I'd been wearing trousers til then) - i now have no ankles....my legs just go straight down! And the nightmare midwives -was getting a bit worried when I saw most of you had loevly friendly midwives who visit you....mine are horrible and act like it's a chore to see you when you're the one that's been waiting over an hour to see them! And they said that they had to monitor me closely due to very low iron so they gave me an appointment in 7 weeks time! (Closely??)
By the way does anyone else have low iron? I think mine is about 8.5Hb....i've been taking iron tablets that are doing nothing and they've been threatening me with iron injections if it doesn't go up which I've heard are very painful. Has anyone ever had any?

And does a normal gym ball work the same as a birthing ball for bouncing on?

Chat2Ali · 24/05/2006 14:03

Love the latest list Jersey! Since my mum is booked on a flight back to Aus 2 weeks after LO's due date I will try anything to deliver on time (or early).

sex - difficult anyway but worse with parents staying in the next room. Makes me feel like a teenager sneaking 'round behind parents back
curry - love it. Haven't eaten much lately hoping the impact will have the desired effect eaten in last 2 weeks. A friend pointed out that am likely to have extra gas at that point Blush
raspberry tea - skeptical, but will try
walking (if we can by then!!!!) - will try
fresh pineapple - yum. Will try. Glad to hear some have had success with this.
bouncing on a birthing ball - will try. Off to buy one this afternoon. Did have a pilates ball, but had to deflate it, and can't find it.

Am very tired today. Probably like everyone else. Haven't slept properly in AGES.

agalch · 24/05/2006 14:08

afternoon ladies

Twirl, sorry to hear your news, hope things are fine for you from now on in x

Assuming baby turns and isn't breech at term i will have my homebirth so i defo don't want to go into labour before 38 weeks or i'm considered pre term and may not get my hb.

So from 38 weeks i will try

sex-yup could do that(i'm v horny atmBlush)
curry-yup love curry
Raspberry tea-yuck but i could force it down i suppose
walking-childminder so always walking
pineapple-yummy
ball-doing that already to encourage babe to turn
So really this baby cannot be late can itWink?

I feel so sorry for you girls who are unwell or in pain.I am v lucky to have had good pregnancies for all of mine.I am really savouring this one as i know it is deffo my last(no4).

Off to mothercare to get cot for baby and toddler bed for dd for her bedroom when it's finished. And thats the shopping all but finished until i hit the shops after i know what ive had lol.

Twirl - Sorry to hear re your bad experience over the last couple of days!! Do try to relax if and when you can!

Nothing exiting to report from my camp. Still suffering from back acheSadtrying to lie down when I can.

Shazeroo - I also have mildly low Hb level but nothing as low as yours. That really is rather low. You must be quite tired maybe even a bit dizzy and breathless at times? Try and take your iron tablets with a glass of orange juice as that helps the absoorbtion of the iron. At the same time also drink loads of water and if you can eat dried fruits as you can become very constipated with all that ironWink

Hi everyone
i was supposed to go to my antenatal class last night, but i found my lovely little cat dead in my garden so i had to go to the vets.
i dont really have any family (just mum and nan and dp)so they are like my babies!

Hopefully the antenatal people will understand, the class completely slipped my mind (it was due to start at 7, and was drving to vets at 10 to 7)

Anyway, would have rather done that for her than left her there all night.

Hope everyone else is ok. My Hb is 11.8 i think but bp is 130/88! its usually too low so better relax! hehe, bye everyone x x

spub · 25/05/2006 07:21

Twirl - Shouldn't laugh but did find the hobbling to the neighbours for a tenner very funny. So glad you had a false alarm and hope you perk up a bit.
I had a computer training session on Monday at work and was sitting next to a colleague who's 15 weeks pg with first baby. This one was very active and you could really see the movements. Think she was pretty freaked out!
I finish work on Weds which is great; Monday is a Bank Holiday and Weds is a half day (antenatal appt). I'm really reay to stop work now. Section is 5 weeks tomorrow!
Shazeroo- I swear by Spatone iron sachets from Boots. They are liquid that you add to fruit juice. Tastes ok, pg safe and doesn't constipate!! To your other q re gym balls - yes, those are fine.
Kayzed- LOL at perinneal massage. It was my dh's fave job last time (NOT). Anyway, it obviously didn't do it for me! (3rd degree tear but dd did come out with her hand at her face...)[ouch emoticon]
Agalch - bubba here has finally turned. I was pretty good about lying on my left each day, doing all fours poses with bum up and head down and keeping my knees lower than my pelvis (though not all at the same timeGrin). Hope it works for you, too. Much more comfy now he's not lying right across me!
I won't be trying Jersey's list as I don't want to go into labour before my elective on June 30th! I can vouch for raspberry leaf tea's efficacy though. I'll eat pineapple til the cows come home at the best of time.Curry - heartburn city. Sex - the mind is willing but the flesh....well, there's too much of it for a start!

Have a good day. Hope all of you feel well and that the sun is shining.

spub · 25/05/2006 07:22

Koshka - so sorry. Meant to say sorry about your cat. Am sure the antenatal people will understand.

maewest · 25/05/2006 07:42

koshka :( about your cat, hope you feel better soon.

Went to NCT last night, we talked about parenting styles, PND and caesarians, so quite a varied session. Have found the classes quite useful, and not madly obsessed with one way of birth, which I have heard that they can be.

Getting a bit achy sleeping at night, especially lying on side on hips, but pain goes off once I move around - takes a while to warm up tho, cue hobbling to the bathroom like an old woman :)

S'pose I'd better slope off to work now - take care of yourselves and your lovely bumps

nixnoo · 25/05/2006 07:54

koshka, really sorry about your cat :(

Does anyone know when is a good time to start on the raspberry leaf tea etc?

Visited a friend last night who had a good labour and now has a 1 week old girl, so good to not only hear the horror stories!

Have found yoga brilliant for the back pain - all the stretches really help, I go on Saturdays and usually my back pain has only crept back the following Friday.

Have great days!
n

jersey · 25/05/2006 08:15

Morning, sorry about your cat kosha, I am sure they will understand Sad.

I have started with the achey pelvis/hips as well since bump turn head down, very uncomfortable last night. Guess I have done well with 4 weeks without pain.

One essay nearly done, one left to do and 3 weeks left at college, 5 weeks plus a couple of days left at work, not that I am counting or anything! Wink.

Nice and sunny here today at work in Nottingham, hope you all have a good day, speak later.
