Excuse my rudeness! Welcome to all the newies Smile

Shazaroo, I'm in North East London, Walthamstow, but moving to Winchmore Hill soon (fingers crossed if it all goes through) which is just down the road from Southgate?

Skiving off work early now, cos "i don't feel too good, woozy". All lies, but who cares, I've nothing to do!!! Bye for a while. Take it easy everyone.

Hello to all the newbies.

Im feeling quite well at the moments also(sorry everyone else)
Ive finally been told that I can have the baby at the local midwife led unit instead of the main hospital. So good news unless of course I decide the pain is too much and I need an epidural because then im buggered.

Im also hardly getting any kicks but mostly hands moving about near my thigh and also feet streching and sticking out. I can actually push them back in. Oh and hiccups each night

janeOT · 22/05/2006 18:28

Hello!!

Welcome Debs and Shazeroo SmileSmile

Last but one week at work with a long weekend off in between and counting.........

Pinkdolly: I had that spots in front of my eyes over the weekend but only got it once and it went quickly (thought i got up to fast?!?!)

Guys....about SPD are you in pain all the time or does it come and go?!? IT sound horrible Sad

Anyhow speak soon

dangirl · 22/05/2006 21:06

Evening ladiesSmile

Welcome to newbies.!! This is such a nice group and the more the merrier.

33+3 today. Feeling pretty knackered to be honest. My bag is really aching. Looking forward to that being overSmile

Went to antenatal refresher course on Friday. OK but not great to be absolutely honest. Does make it all seem more real though.
I am not a great believer in writing birth plans as I find that they are hardly looked at and pracically never followed anyway. I am more of a "go with the flow" kind of person.

Back to lying on the sofaWink
Sleep well all!

Hugs and xxx

maewest · 22/05/2006 21:24

Welcome newbies, we're getting to be a huge group! I'm 30+3 today and still feeling pretty good (apart from a bit of a cold) I'm keeping active and counting down the 6 wks left at work. We've recruited my replacement now and I feel better leaving my projects in safe hands.

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2006 21:47

Evening girls

Welcome to debs1980 and Shazeroo-have added you to our ever growing stats list Grin.

Went to work today but in loads of pain now-only tomorrow and next Tuesday to go now-phew!

What is this belt everyone keeps lecturing me about to help SPD? If one more person tells me I will end up on crutches without one I will scream and you will all hear me!

pinkdolly-I hope you get the all clear from the midwife and start to feel better. Difficult with 2 DD's running you ragged though. Hugs.

dangirl-my 'bag' (lol) is aching as well today-hope I'm not getting DH's man flu.

kayzed-hope you feel better soon as well. Awful not being able to take strong medecines. Hoping your placenta has moved by Friday.

Annie-you really do describe my MIL perfectly. Mine just ignores everything I say regarding DD-just switches off and plays deaf. At least FIL does say that we had better ask mummy first-too right!!! You brave person actually staying over.

Nice to see some of you back to join the party Grin

Really need to go to bed now so I'll love you and leave you.

Hugs to all

xxx

Hi gals,
More later but briefly to HC; what they are talking about is a Fembrace. It's like a giant elastic stocking/belt that supports your back and pelvis and fastens with velcro. Your GP should be able to sort one out for you through the physios at the hospital. They need to measure your bump to getthe right size. I have one and find it to be pretty good though my pelvic pain was at the back and not the front - it's also improved now that the baby is head doen instead of transverse!

SusieR · 23/05/2006 09:02

Hi girls,
I'm new here. Expecting 2nd baby 12th July. We know its a boy which is great as our first is a girl.
I'm getting really fed up of being pregnant now as i feel really heavy and slow, can't sleep properly etc. So its great I've found this club. Wish I found it sooner.

Chat2Ali · 23/05/2006 10:53

Hello July Mummies and welcome to the newbies - Debs1980, Shazeroo and SusieR.

My DH was priviledged with a comedy slap-stick act this morning when I woke from a sound asleep with leg-cramp. First I started yelling "Ouch, Ouch Ouch" repeatedly, and he thought I had gone into labour. Next he suggested I try to stand on it, which I did. I jumped up as quick as I could, but almost fell over. I would love to have seen my big round body move as fast (as I thought) it did, and the falling over would have just topped it off! Grin I know I have a sick sense of humour, but there is not much funnier than someone falling over - especially if they are big and round.

Thankfully I managed to catch myself on the chest of drawers before I fell to the ground, or I am sure I wouldn't be laughing now. I seem to remember some previous discussion of leg-cramps in this thread, so will have to read back as see what all your advice was.

This windy weather has been playing havoc with my hayfever. I don't normally suffer badly from it (pre-preg), but would occasionally take one of DHs clarityne or benedryl tabs. Wish I could do that now. For the past few days have had sore throat, tingly/itchy/runny nose, runny eyes, and have felt that flu-like tiredness added to normal pg fatigue. I noticed a couple of others on this thread have had colds/flu - wonder if its all the pollen in the air? it can feel very 'flu like, especially with the tired feeling that comes with it.

Chat2Ali · 23/05/2006 10:59

HC and Spub - I wonder who came up with (or gave a name to) the Fembrace? It sounds like a lesbian hug. LOL!
Actually HC I hope your midwife or doctor can help you get one if it helps.
Once again, must apologize for my weird sense of humour this morning Blush, its just such a nice change from feeling hormonal, miserable and big and uncomfortable over the past few days.

jersey · 23/05/2006 11:41

Morning, back from hospital. Had growth scan and everything is spot on! Baby has gone head down, at last. He was yawning, sucking his thumb and waving at us!!! First time we have seen movement on a scan which was great.

Everything ok with me go back in 4 weeks to be checked again, but have to see midwife in between so seeing her week after next.

speak soon

sunita123 · 23/05/2006 11:51

Morning girls,

Hello to all the newcomers, SuzieR - Totally with you on being fed up of being pg! Feeling really heavy and slow, can't sleep properly, aches and pains etc. But hey 32 weeks already gone, and counting down!!!! (little singsong - 8 weeks to go, 8 weeks to go...)

IamBlossom · 23/05/2006 12:58

Morning Pregheads, ooh actually afternoon already, welcome Susie R!

I've actually done some WORK today, dun dun DAAAAAARRRR! Not very impressed that it has suddenly become very busy in my last week, oh well at least I am still at home and not being dragged to customer meetings, fingers crossed I will get away with out any before next Wednesday!

LOL Ali at your rude awakening. Had a similarly atrocious start yesterday when I rolled over onto my other side AGAIN as I go completely numb if too long on one side, and dragging my pillow with me managed to knock over my whole pint glass of water over the bedside table, drenching alarm clock, glasses, remote control, phone etc. Sat there blind holding the phone in the air, and DH puts his head up and says "mind the electricals". Helpful! Get me a towel you daft twonk!

5 days to go at work 5 days to go, that's my little song Sunita.

Jersey, fab everything was good at your scan! really pleased.

Right off to gym to walk purposefuly on the treadmill and then come home again and eat cake and sleep. :-)

Roll on July !!!
(Sorry to put a dampener on things, but your comment did make me Smile).

jersey · 23/05/2006 13:40

I'll add to that 6 weeks to go, 6 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

kbaby · 23/05/2006 15:42

Its not fair ive still got 6 weeks left in work.

Spent today painting the living room and dining room and glossing the new skirting boards. The wood floor looks fab and weve only got the outside light to get wired and then I can paint it and we have to touch up the kitchen walls where the builders put their grubby fingers everywhere oh and DD's new bedroom needs painting and furniture bought for her. Shes 2 this weekend and the mean parents that we are were buying her a bed etc. Shes got loads of toys and I cant think what to buy anyway

Right im off to stuff my face with an easter egg I just found.
bye

IamBlossom · 23/05/2006 16:34

Hmm you have a point Sunita. However, when i weigh up sitting on an office chair that makes my bum go numb in my home office, getting bothered by annoying people on the phone and constant email asking me for things and telling me to do things, with sitting on my comfy sofa downstairs eating tobelrone and watching Sex in the City, I know which scenario comes first.

Have to say though, at 31 weeks tomorrow, I am moving into the "jeez I'm fat/heavy/clumsy/uncomfortable" phase, and looking forward to getting this little blighter OUT!!

Evening girls!

Kayzed.. hope you're on the mend and feeling a bit more human.

Blossom, I laughed at your water throwing account. Your DH sounds like mine... offering useful comments about the electrics, but not actually leaping straight into action!!! ... Although mine will actually carry the hoover up and down stairs for me now, which is nice!!!

Glad to hear I'm relatively normal in terms of feelings of panic... it varies on a day to day basis. I went through a phase of playing soothing music, thinking that the baby would like it, but I've now resorted back to 'whatever I fancy', which today was the black eyes peas, blasting out 'my humps' on the way home!!! It should really be called 'my hump' in our cases... and not lovely lady lumps, but 'big heavy round brick!'

Off to eat pizza now!

HumphreysCorner · 23/05/2006 18:27

Evening ladies

Welcome to SusieR-have added you to our stats list hun Smile

Pain bad today only cos I did too much lifting then sat down at lunchtime and madam did the biggest headbut ever-nearly knocked me off the chair with the pain. Am seeing my midwife on Thursday so will ask about the 'lesbian hug' lol. Don't want to have to see a Dr as they will only say it is because I am too fat. Every time I go with an illness (not often if I can help it) they put me on the scales and blame my weight Angry.

jersey-good news on the growth and head down is good. Madam has been head down for ages.

One more day at work next Tuesday and it can't come soon enough! Fed up of miserable customers who have you running about after them and couldn't care less that you are PG and in pain-gggrrrhhh!!!Oh and heartburn at it's v. worst today.

Enough of my moaning. Hugs to all and bye for now.

pinkdolly · 23/05/2006 18:56

Hi girls,

Hello to susie and congrats on your little boy.

Ali- Had to have a little laugh at your leg cramps and DH response. I had a nap on sunday afternoon and woke up with a bad one, and am still suffering with it now. Cant put too much weight on that leg and feel like it could re-cramp at any moment.

Kayzed- Is it possible to catch flu over the net. I feel so bad today. Razor blades in my throat and having trouble breathing. Got very out of breath just sweeping the kitchen floor (and it's only small).
A friend of mine rang today and asked me if I had run to answer the phone as I was so out of breath! Does feel like every breath is a bit of a struggle. I am sure preggie flu is worse than normal flu.

Had an indepth conversation with DD1 today about how she can help when DD3 comes along.

"mummy! When the baby gets here can I take her up and give her a bath while you stay down here and talk to nanny?"

Hmm..what do you think?

I did try to explain to her that a wet baby was like a bar of soap, and that I would probably need her help to wash the baby.

She wants to do everything for the baby, dear of her.

HC- sorry to hear about your pain, you must be feeling pretty fed up by now, I know I am.

Jersey- congrats on your scan, I'm glad everything well with the baby.

Right am off to sniff some more albas oil. c u later.

Chat2Ali · 23/05/2006 19:03

I have to say you ladies are making me laugh today. Its really kept me in such a good mood. Smile

Blossom - I laughed at your DH's response to spilling the water - exactly what mine would do. And we are SO on the same wavelength with the exercise too. I went for a lovely swim today, then came home, ate chocolate and slept on the sofa.

Bumpybel - LOL at "My Hump". I had some lovely classical music playing just for LO the other week. Hoping "the Mozart Effect" will make her smarter, although it hasn't been proven. I also went last week to see "We will Rock You" and LO couldn't keep still. She loved it. Perhaps she's already showing her intelligence Wink

Jersey - Great news about the scan. So reassuring to have such positive news. I wish I could have a growth scan. I would love another peek at LO now. Especially interested in (scared of) the size of the head.

HC - sorry you are in pain. Hope everything goes well on Thursday. BTW, How is your other half getting on with putting up the wallpaper? Its going to look fab.

maewest · 23/05/2006 19:22

Evening all - I've also got 6 weeks to go at work(although I'm trying to wangle finishing a bit earlier). I have the small matter of a festival to organise before I go, which means lots of phoning and persuading. Getting fed up of sitting on an office chair all the time, esp as bub is keeping up a samba rhythm all the time on my ribs :)

One of my friends is organising a baby shower for me in June, which will involve lots of cake I think. Not sure what else goes on at these things, a chance to sit and gas I think!

koshka1984 · 23/05/2006 21:47

Hey everyone
Hope everyone is ok today.
I've got my first antenatal class tomorrow and i hope i don't have to go on my own cos im quite shy! My mum said she'll go with me, but i suppose if she isnt going to be there to help me push, then it is just wasting her time!
Feeling so restless at the moment, my legs are itchy andf restless and when i am sleeping or trying to sleep my hips hurt!
Argh! Anyway, so i'm 31+5 today (i think)

Just a quick question, what are percentiles? I'm going to look in my book, but my midwife never tells me anything but she hears the heartbeat, and so on.

Anyway, night ladies hope you and your bumps are good. x
