Hello everyone and welcome sunita123! You lot all seem so organised in comparison to me that I have just spent the day sorting out and washing DD's baby clothes to be used for baby DS. I have now drawn up a list of what we need to get (thanks for the infacol reminder!) and have convinced DH that we should do a big shop at the weekend and get everything we need in one go, that way I won't be worried about it Wink. I'm not planning on getting the carseatpushchair/crib etc down from the attic for a few weeks yet as it will just clutter up the house! I'm assuming that as they are summer babies they won't really need much in the way of clothes (DD was spring so still needed coats etc)... What is everyone buying clotheswise? I need some guidance....

jom · 17/05/2006 16:21

Hope everyone's well. Have a midwife check tomorrow (31 + 3)! Must start stocking up on a few essentials and get around to organising the hospital bag. Especially now my boots vouchers have arrived!

Kayzed- I'd love to have my parents staying here - I guess they could sleep in the Lounge Room but we are living with the PILs at the moment and my MIL is terminally ill so don't want to cause anymore chaos in the house than necessary. (Apart from having a newborn, a lively DS and two cats that is ! Smile)

Parents will be within walking distance and so will spend as much time with them as possible. Next time they make it over we should definitley be in our own place so I'm sure we'll make up for it then.

pinkdolly · 17/05/2006 16:26

Hi Girls,

Sunita- Glad you could make it, R u feeling better now hon?

I am feeling rubbish today, keep going hot and dizzy and feeling icky. Been lying on the sofa most of the day.

Jersey- Am currently sitting here with something squashing into my ribs. Not a nice feeling. I wouldn't mind at this moment not feeling anything above my belly button. This little one seems to take up a lot of room. I dont think she knows what the feotal position is! Still plenty of time for your little one to sticka foot in your ribs so I wouldn't worry too much.

Everyone else have a good day, take it easy!

HumphreysCorner · 17/05/2006 17:02

Hello ladies

Welcome to sunita123-I have added you to the list hun. 19th is an excellent day as my DD was born on the 19th July.

Well girls, am in terrible pain today everytime I try and walk. Have rung the midwife and she is supposed to be ringing back????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Thinks it is ligament pain???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I had a gush of liquid about an hour ago which has soaked my pants-don't know if it is my bladder playing up or the placenta problem. Didn't feel like wee and it is not that strong smelling. Think I should have phoned the hospital first. At least I have my scan on Tuesday if the midwife fobs me off.

I will keep you updated.

Hope all of you under the weather feel on tip top form again soon. Grin

Oh, and to top it all off we have no water-blah!

Bye for now.

xxx

deblaca · 17/05/2006 18:38

any news from the m/w HC - hope everything is ok - keep us posted

Twirl · 17/05/2006 19:35

HC - I think you should call the hospital and speak to a midwife on the labour ward just in case the gush was your waters or a small water leakage....hope you are ok, keep us up to date!

That sounds rather scary HC. Keeping my fingers x-ed that all is well and hope to hear some good news from you very soon!

Had further growth scan today. Growth has thankfully slowed down a bit and LO is now on ca 75th percentile (not quite as scary as 97th a month agoShock)

Aching every where - nothing worrying though.

Sleep well ladiesSmile

sunita123 · 17/05/2006 22:26

Hi ladies,

HC - Hope that you're O.K. Let us know what's happening.

Pinkdolly - thanks for your kind message. I'm feeling a lot better today. Must have been because I hadn't eaten properly. I'm so lax with this pg.
Feeling so out of control this time round. Is it just me or do some women get like that in 2nd and subsequent pg's?
Blossom - Are you going to deliver at Basingstoke Hospital? I'm booked to be delivered there, out of choice, even though I don't live in Hampshire. (Used to, but that was Sth Hants)

IamBlossom · 18/05/2006 08:46

Morning. HC, what news?

Sunita, no I am booked into Frimley where I had DS. Basingstoke is where all the midwifery care I have is based though, and it was an option alongside Guildford or Southampton - but distance wise Frimley is nearest and as I had DS there they relented. I am looked after by either Ria or Carol Verrier do you know them? Whereabouts do you live?

Bit headachey this morning - DS decided 5.30am was a reasonable hour to get up today. Weird as yesterday was 7.45am, wonder if it's his teeth. Who knows with these strange creatures called children we keep on insisting having! Grin

Hi everyone

HC - Hope everything is ok with you hun. Let us know how you are. Thinking of you Smile

Had a bad day yesterday myself. I fainted at work, how embarrassing Blush. Scared the living daylights out of a few members of staff. Went really hot, then over I went. Ended up lying in the head's office with a fan being wafted over me, getting hotter and hotter. Really weird feeling. Couldn't really strip off, that would terrify the children too much GrinRang the mw who sorted out an emergency appt with doc. Turns out I've got low blood pressure, so there's nothing they can do as it's just low not really low. So just got to be aware and not over heat!!!

The children were wonderful this morning, checking that I'd had some breakfast and what I'd had. To make sure I'd had enough. Then they wouldn't let me do anything, fussing around me. They can be lovely sometimes Grin

Feeling a bit tired but that's because we had a powercut in the middle of the night and was kept awake with loads of burgular alarms going off. So going to take things a bit easy today.

Hope everyone is coping well and I'd love one of those badges that says 'I'm pregnant, not fat!!!' too. Take care of yourselves and your bumps.

Any news HC? We're all thinking of you.

Welcome Sunita123 - you're due the same day as me.

jersey · 18/05/2006 11:39

Morning, How are you HC?

Puddy hope you are feeling a bit better, rest when you can.

jersey · 18/05/2006 11:39

sorry memory like a sieve, welcome Sunita

pinkdolly · 18/05/2006 13:27

Afternoon gals?

Gosh HC, what's going on. I hope everything is ok. I know you thought you were gonna have the baby early but this is a bit soon. Are you in that much of a hurry to be the first to deliver?
Honestly hon, sending you lots of hugs and hoping you are doing better today.

Puddy- Hope you are resting up a bit after yesterday. I have never blacked out in any of my pg's but felt like I might and that is scary enough. Still nice to have everyone fussing over you for a bit Grin.

Kayzed- Poor you on having to fork out that much money this late on. I'd be pretty peeved too, am always complaining about the cost of maternity clothes and stuff that you only need whilst you are pg.

Sunita- Glad you are feeling better. Am totally with you on being all over the place this pg.
This one is my third and I am just one big ball of stupid. I cant think straight, cant concentrate on anything. And am totally not ready for baby. Just cant seem to get my head around it at the moment. Hoping it will get better very soon.

Hope evryone else is having a good day. Will catch up with you later.

Wallace · 18/05/2006 15:25

Hope you are ok HC xxxxx

And welcome to Sunita123 :)

HumphreysCorner · 18/05/2006 17:23

Evening ladies

Back home now and all is fine thank goodness-they think it is SPD which is all new to me so just got to be careful what I lift.

Went in last night after the midwife finally phoned back and told me to ring the labour ward. No staff at all so kept being left. Baby's heartbeat was monitered then swabs taken from me by a v. dishy junior doctor then was told I would have to see the Registrar-this was at 9.30pm. At 2am they decided he wasn't coming as he had to go into theatre for an eptopic (this saddened me greatly-poor girl) so I had to stay the night. DH went home as he was not well so suffered on this horrible bed in sweltering heat. Had to ask for a sandwich as had no food since 1pm and also a kettle so I could make a drink. (Kettle is on my list of hospital essentials). This morning I was told I would have a scan sometime today then 10 mins later that no the Reg wouldn't authorise one as I was having one on Tuesday. Heartbeat was monitered again then waited a few hours and then a lady came in to take me for a scan??????????? Anyway, had scan and placenta now moved-hurrah! Finally got the go ahead to go home. DH cleared off to bed to sleep????????? while I made do with the settee. Going to be tired tomorrow after not even 4 hours sleep.

So girls, things are looking good for a normal delivery at the right time Grin

puddy and sunita-please be careful and take care of yourselves. Hope all is well.

Going to persuade DH to get some chips for tea as there is no way he will cook and I don't feel like it.

Lots of love and bye for now.

Hi all

HC,thank goodness alls well with you and the lo!! I kept checking in to see if there was any news.Send dh out for food and you get your feet up and rest Wink

Hi Sunita, welcome to the mad house lolGrin

I saw mw today and baby has decided to turn around and is breech atm.MW not concerned at all, says i have till babe is 37 weeks to turn as this my 4th pg.Praying it does turn and stay head down sooner rather than later, want to order my birthpool for my homebirth and generally get ready iykwim.

Spub, yes im in west lothian so very close to home.I have always spoken to the kids about love and sex but now that he is 14 and has a gf its so real iykwim. It's hard but i think it's your job as a parent to speak to them about it all.I'd rather he waited till he was over 16 but if he was going to do it i'd rather he protected himself and his gf from pg and std's so he has been supplied with condoms in the event anything happens.

Anyway on that note i'll say cheerio girls xx
