Just heard my good friend has had her DC2 this afternoon - quick labour, waterbirth, no complications. Am SO chuffed for her and can't stop grinning!

I'm another with a scan on the 12th, we'll be finding out the gender if baby plays ball. Can't add myself at the moment as on phone.

shelley I think it's normal to be a bit less excited by the time you get to 3/4 etc but I think it's mostly because you are so busy with wee ones etc you just don't think about it as much. I certainly found that with ds3 and this time too. I can't believe I'm almost halfway there, I quite often forget I'm even pregnant and get a surprise when I see my growing belly. Re feeling movements, I felt this one much later than my last one, I'm waiting for scan to see if this is because I have anterior placenta or just a more chilled baby! Re tiredness I was feeling exceptionally tired last week and have been making big effort to remember to take my prenatal supps which I'd forgotten about for a while there. My energy levels feel a bit better so far this week, so maybe I was just a bit low on something!

Welcome bigbelly4 there are a few of us on here expecting no4. What ages are your dc? Have you told them there is another on the way?

persuasion - yep, my mum and dad are like that as well, had a little cry about that last night. I hate talking about stuff when they aren't interested so they only know I'm due in July.

thinking - I'm scared about the scan too, keep thinking they will say that he hasn't grown since last time.

shelley - I'm not feeling less excited I don't think but I'm finding I think about this baby less than I did with the others. I keep bending down and lying on my tummy by mistake. With DS1 I used to spend hours reading the narnia books out loud to him when I was pregnant.

bigbelly4 - welcome. I'm pregnant with number 4 too

bigbelly4 · 05/02/2013 19:27

Evening all!

Thinkingof4 - Have a 5,6 and 7 year old - so a bit of a gap this time! Yes we have told them - we went to centre parcs for a break anbd told them there away from all friends and family - just to let it sink in for a few daytas! They are muchly excited.

emblosion · 05/02/2013 19:48

dinky your bra post made me laugh! I'm back in my FF's (was a DD before first pregnancy) I can almost fit my own head into the cup!

shelley I know what you mean - I feel like this baby is neglected compared to how I was with ds. I just barely have time to think about it as I'm so busy. I even forget how many weeks I am - in my first pregnancy I would have known to the day.

Also v tired, I had a 2 hour nap with ds this afternoon - housework remains un done, sigh!

emblosion · 05/02/2013 19:49

Ooo and welcome bigbelly

Thinkingof4 · 05/02/2013 19:53

bigbelly that's lovely, you'll be able to really enjoy this baby while big ones are at school!

Thinkingof4 · 05/02/2013 19:55

Oh and Ellie I'm kind of glad I'm not alone in feeling a bit worried. I think it's the whole worry of whether it's pushing our luck too far having another one iyswim

Devilforasideboard · 05/02/2013 21:05

Thank you for the kind wishes, I'm feeling much better today and focussing on the fact he's not suffering any more.

pearl the movements I've been feeling are like nudges from the inside mainly. Sometimes it's more like pressure and yesterday I had a weird one where the pressure sort of pulled along my belly. I'm wondering what on earth he/she is getting up to in there!

Cheeseandbread · 05/02/2013 21:05

Wow dinky emb and others your giving me boon envy! I was feeling quite proud with my B cup... wishful thinking for a C

MarieKL · 05/02/2013 21:23

Hello to all those joining the thread. Lovely to have you with us.

Pearl my movements feel like wind and tummy rumblings but without any noise, Almost like wriggle is going whee and doing summersaults!

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like I'm not giving this pg as much attention as my first - and I'm only on number 2.

Ellie and Thinking I know what you mean about the scan. When there's no bump and all the obvious symptoms have gone you kind of lose that reassurance that its not all in your mind.

TotallyEggsFlipped - Is it tomorrow that you have your interview. If so good luck.

Devil I'm glad you're feeling better. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my two cats. Currently trying to stop my mum sending me endless emails about baby names by saying that if we have a girl we'll call them Charlotte after cat1 and a boy will be called Slyvester after cat2. Not sure she believes me though as we said the same about DS and clearly he isn't called either Smile

Feeling rather jealous of all those buying new baby things. Just made a list and other than a changing mat and bottles and a sterliser I think we have everything! Love hearing what everyone else is buying though, so do please keep telling us!

dinkystinky · 05/02/2013 21:25

Cheese by the end of it I reckon you will be a c - and possibly a D when your milk comes in, don't worry.

Glad my post made you laugh Emblosion - we aim to entertain.

Photographer lady - thought of you as I had my dinner tonight - asparagus spears dipped in runny hard boiled egg. If you haven't tried it I heartily recommend it - my favourite 5 min dinner when just me and can't be added to cook.

Has anyone seen Schro around? Was wondering if she got a scan and due date in the end.

dinkystinky · 05/02/2013 21:26

PS Vinegar - congrats on your friends birth. Second births rock!

Supershiv1 · 05/02/2013 21:27

1sttimeblondie
OMG! YOU HAVE A BIGGER FIBROID THAN ME! [sorry for shouting]. Blush
Mines 10x9x5cm, but apparently not in the way of anything.

Had 16wk midwife visit today. All ok and heard the clippy cloppy VERY fast heartbeat and the eerie/spooky sounding woosh of the placenta.
20 wk scan 12th March (can someone add to list as on phone). Thanks

marmitemad · 05/02/2013 21:28

evening ladies,

so much chatting its taken me a week to catch up! really ought to sort out MN on my iphone then I could check in while waiting at school!

currently feeling shattered, have a huge belly, spotty face like a teenager and tonight much to my distress I found body hair growing in several new places! no 2nd trimester blooming here yet.

am also annoyed with DH as he has vetoed the purchase of a 2nd hand pushchair and I can't really justify a brand new purchase after spending £25K on IVF so consoling myself with lots of Ebay summer maternity bargains.

lots of wriggling and kicking going on though which is reassuring but still doing my daily doppler check as well.

also not sure if its a bit soon to suggest as not everyone is feeling movement yet but anyone who's interested might want to have a look at this very worthwhile charity and get a kick counting wristband and chart. the key thing to be aware of is to get to know what is normal for your bump and to seek help if you have any doubts about reduced/excessive movement.

2 weeks today to my 20 week NHS scan and we will not be finding out the gender as I liked having a surprise with dd although I think this one is a boy.

TomDaleysTrunks · 05/02/2013 21:46

vinegar congrats to your friend.am hoping all of ours go like that too Grin.

Thanks for the suggestion of splitting the inlaws with a second destination. They are in an area called Murcia, not much in the way of hotels and dh is flatly refusing to self cater. God knows why, he gets such odd idea in his head. I think it's because we'd got our hopes up about a fancy hotel etc.

I've got a big interview tomorrow so wish me luck.

sorry for lack of personal replies, I'm on my phone and in bed. About 2 secs away from sleep Zzzzz.

TotallyEggFlipped · 05/02/2013 21:55

Good luck with your interview TomDaleysTrunks. I've got an interview tomorrow too - I haven't worked for 2 years, so I'm really hoping there weren't many applicants.....

VinegarDrinker · 05/02/2013 22:03

Good luck for both your interviews!

Calmisthemantra · 05/02/2013 22:54

Good luck for your interview Tom

My scan is on the 26th feb , please can someone add me as cant do it from my phone.

Been worried the last few weeks as still no movement (2nd baby) and got myself in a tizz. Phones the midwife almost in tears and she squeezed my in for a quick listen. She found the hb straight away and it sounded amazingGrin So now I really need to try and relax and trust everything is ok. My scan is 3 weeks today - ageeeeeeees away

Feel very excited and relieved after hearing hb and we picked up our phil and teds (from eBay) today. It's great - looks brand new and has lots of extra bits with itSmile very pleased with it, but sad it has to be stored at the MIL's as we have no space for it yet. Still keeping my iCandy strawberry as (I love it) it has a good carry cot suitable for nighttime sleeping and would be nice to take the baby out in it now and then. The phil and teds can be used as just a single too so could go out with DH and a buggy eachWink

Seems a lot more real today

I get to tell my other workplace today, fingers crossed they're a little surprised? Grin
