Those of you who can feel movements, can you describe what that's like, please? I've felt a couple of rustlings in the tummy area, but nothing I'd say is unequivocally baby-related. Last night, just before dropping off, there was a peculiar sort of fizzy flutter - is that anything to get excited about? Nothing that I've noticed so far at any other time; once they start, are they fairly frequent?

Thanks!

Morning all.

this thread is moving fast (although i dont know if it makes a diffierence but it could be due to the first post being so massive and then keeps being copied on each page?)

We actually bought a bugaboo cameleon (2nd gen) at the weekend as we saw one on ebay that looked to good to miss and we couldn't warrent the £800 they are new.

and i attended my first antanatal yoga class last night - was really nice to meet other pregnant ladies and learn some relaxation techniques.

Hope everyone is keeping well

Thanks Cheese - hope you get some sleep and feel better soon.

Pearls - its like a flutter/little tap. Not felt too frequently but do know what it is when I feel it.

TomDaleysTrunks · 05/02/2013 10:43

I can't keep up!
No movements here yet and no date for 20 week scan. Must chase that up. Midwife appr on Thursday.

Bit fed up. Long story involving annoying in laws. But instead of having a lovely family holiday in April we are having to go and see in laws in Spain. It's just not the same. They have a really small 2 bed apartment - DH and I sleep in 2 separate single beds with dd in the travel cot between us. It's such hard work. Whinge over!

dinkystinky · 05/02/2013 10:47

Tom - whereabouts in Spain are they? Can you make it a two centre holiday so you do the in law thing for a couple of days then go live it up in a nice hotel with a double bed, pool and spa?

emblosion · 05/02/2013 10:54

Quin my friend has a bugaboo chameleon, its brill & looks so funky! Am v jealous.

Tom sucks about the holiday - agree the two centre thing sounds good if you could manage it, a few days with the in laws & then a week somewhere lovely?

Thanks for adding me to the scan list :) can't believe how time is flying!

emblosion · 05/02/2013 11:00

Oh and devil sad about devil cat, but sounds like you did the best thing for her. Emcat is disgusted with me today as there is snow outside making her paws cold - clearly this is my fault!

18+6 today.

shelley72 · 05/02/2013 11:17

goodness thats taken me a while to catch up. what chatterboxes Smile.

devil so sorry to hear about your loss. we had to do the same with our beloved dog when i was pg with DD. it broke my heart and was grateful that i had the pregnancy to concentrate on.

feeling very fat and fed up today Sad. bump is starting to appear but i just feel fat, bloated and generally uncomfortable and i dont look overly pregnant yet. am also so tired i could cry and have no idea why i am so shattered and teary. i was never this tired with DC1 or 2 and i was working then too. i just have no energy at all. i need to get a grip but just dont have the energy to do it!

those of you on DC3 or 4 (or more) - do you still feel excited this time around? i am a bit worried as i dont think i do. i havent had much time to actually think about the baby or enjoy being pg like i have before. and there is no baby shopping to do either! still no feelings of movement which is also worrying me as i had definitely felt DC2 by this stage. scan in a couple of weeks so hopefully it will be ok.

gosh sorry for the very 'down' post, think i am having one of those days. have a VBAC clinic appointment tomorrow so i suppose i had better start thinking about some good questions to ask!

dinkystinky · 05/02/2013 11:21

Shelley - I tend not to feel as excited as so much other stuff going on in life I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. What I am making sure I do is have some me time in pregnancy yoga each week so I can focus on me, the bean and this pregnancy - just an hour and a half a week.

photographerlady · 05/02/2013 11:28

shelley sorry you are so tired, it's really dragging me down as well. It doesn't help that it's winter and dark so early still. Hopefully it will all change soon.

As far as movement I had my first bit of flutters the other night. Went to bed early with an apple juice, put on some soft music and just rested. Give it a go. I haven't felt much during the day, only feels like a bowling ball is sitting on my bladder.

Abzs · 05/02/2013 11:32

Have to wait until the 26th for my next scan. Seems like forever when I've been having them every two weeks.

No gender here - NHS policy. We're not going to pay for a private scan to find out. Better try harder to think of a girl's name. Looking at the family trees for inspiration and finding no girl's names we'd actually want to repeat - apart from the middle name, which she'd inherit from me and my mum. We might have a boy's name, or rather there are two names that neither of us veto but which way round for first and middle is anyone's guess.

devil Sorry about Devilcat1. Hope you and Devilcat2 are looking after each other. Watch out for them, we lost CatA in October and CatB suddenly developed a stronger personality, a whole bunch of fussy habits and a loud purr she never had before.

twirliedobbit · 05/02/2013 11:40

So ladies and paolo!
I finally made it to the docs today as still feeling ill and getting the most horrendous headaches.
She was lovely. I basically have a viral infection and a sinus infection. Bed rest prescribed.
Unfortunately I need to have a moan about (not so) DH now.
So doc prescribed bed rest for 2-3 days. My DH has ability to work from home but no...he says he will ask his Mum (who is disabled and already looks after her frail brother) to help out. I would rather struggle through than ask her.
Am I expecting too much for him to ask his work if he can work from home for 2 days to take over childcare???

BadMissM · 05/02/2013 11:43

Shelley72 Am also tired and amazingly weepy. Not feeling very attractive either....

BB01 · 05/02/2013 12:12

Devil, so so sorry about your cat. It's so horribly sad isn't it. The good memories get stronger than the sadness over time if you know what I mean, but not much compensation now I know.

Sunday, hope you're ok..will be thinking of you. Can't imagine what it must be like to go through that.

Shelley72, I feel so blimmin tired still. Sometimes can't make it past 7pm without falling asleep and sometimes just get in from work and have to go straight to bed for a lie down! Feel a misery too at the moment a lot of the time. Fed up of people saying 'where's your bump then??' when I keep having to buy new clothes and think it looks obvious!!!! Also find I am getting so impatient with people at work and having to properly count to ten often. Difficult when your work involves 'working with difficult people' as a rule!!! Just trying to do exercise regularly and eat at least some good stuff to try to feel a bit more human-like, and keep remembering the end goal!!

SundaySunshine · 05/02/2013 12:15

guava no offence taken at all! I was really having a moan about FB more than anything. Thanks dinky mightbe and others (sorry can't scroll back as on phone) for kind words. I think I'll be ok; DH hasn't registered the date at all, and I don't want to remind him, there's no point in him being sad too. That's what so great about you lot, we can talk through our troubles without causing a stir in RL.

whitedaffodil · 05/02/2013 12:51

Hi all, sorry about the coughs and flus that seem to be circulating.

Been a while since I posted, on the go all the time at work and I'm also getting home and almost collapsing. Not much "bump" to report but I do have the boobage which makes appropriate office clothes a bit difficult.

For those in the "not buying baby stuff for a while yet" camp like us, John Lewis does a nursery service where they help you with what you need & you don't have to buy it but can put what you've chosen on a list that they keep and you can order from later (or if relatives or friends want to get you something, it's the same idea as a wedding registry). The appt is 2 hours and according to friends, really worthwhile if it's your 1st DC. Going to book for early March so will let you know what I think! DH isn't thrilled by the thought of 2 hours nursery consulting but is agreeing on the basis that it will "get it all done".

dinkystinky · 05/02/2013 14:44

Twirlie - grr at DH. Could you suggest he takes one day working from home and gets a combination of his mum/a sitter to look after your little one the following day?

Whitedaffodil - we did the John Lewis nursery thing when I was expecting DS1. The best thing is they then send you off for a free hot drink and cake while typing up your list. We bought some bits from JL then got the rest we wanted online for cheaper.

Shelley - re feeling tired. Have you been keeping an eye on iron, magnesium and zinc intake? I find if I'm low in any of these I get really tired - and abit low too. Might be worth upping your bananas, green veg/apricots and nuts intake to see if it helps.

In other news, finally got new bras today - up to a 34 GG already. Gulp. I reckon I could fit my two kids heads in each cup of a bra I bought today Grin

MiniPenguinMaker · 05/02/2013 14:48

Gosh, I'm having trouble keeping up with all the chatter here! It's nice to have such talkative company. Devil, I'm so sorry to hear your news about devilcat1. It is horrible losing a pet, but when it is time for them to go you also know it's the right thing I guess.

Hello ladies,

Please can I join your gang? I'm due with no 4 on 11 July and hugely excited!

Love reading some of your posts, make in feel normal/human and some make me have a good old chuckle (In a good way!)

Ta muchly

MiniPenguinMaker · 05/02/2013 14:51

Had my 16-week midwife appointment today. The new midwife has started - I had seen a temp one for my booking-in appointment - and she is LOVELY. So down to earth and clear about everything. Apparently she is on board with me going for a home birth if I want one, so all things being well I think that is what I will try for.

Listened to the little one's heartbeat too, which was exciting and reassuring. Since I've stopped feeling sick - but don't really have a proper bump yet - it's kind of nice to know it's still in there ticking away and kicking happily!

Also, a friend has offered me her much-loved iCandy Apple! It needs some TLC - new wheels and brakes, I think - but really really nice to be given a free pram and I like it.

16+6

trustissues75 · 05/02/2013 15:28

Minipenguin - isn't it lovey to hear the heartbeat? Very reassuring too they don't do it in my area for some reason :(

I have my 20 week scan on the 22nd Feb - would someone mind copying and pasting me in? For some reason my copy on my computer won't stay up for me to click it (I'm not sure about this Windows 8 at all)

So, I've been getting lots of kicks - last weekend I got such a hard on I actually jumped. The thing is though with there still being so mych room I'm regularly going a full day without feeling anything - which is unnerving. Some kicking this afternoon after a whole day with nothing!

trustissues75 · 05/02/2013 15:38

I seemed to have dropped off the list somehow...added myself back in

Welcome BigBelly4 - add yourself and your due date into the due date list (trusts first post just above). Hope all going well with your pregnancy.

Minipenguinmaker - glad you had a good appointment and all going well. Great news you're getting a buggy you like for free - am sure some new brakes/wheels will be alot cheaper than buying a new one.

shelley72 · 05/02/2013 16:15

photographerlady, badmissm and bb01 its good to know im not the only one thats tired. feel v bad moaning to DH about it (though i do!) as he has been doing 14 hour days at work this week and is shattered himself. would LOVE just to be able to go to a hotel and sleep. for hours. and have room service. and have someone tidy and clean for me. may happen in 20 years or so!!!

dinky i have been taking spatone as my iron was on lower side of ok at booking, and i do eat lots of green veg but i am not good with bananas or apricots. actually i could do with eating more fruit in general. i used to be really good when i was working but i am quite unhealthy now considering how obsessive i am about the DCs diet. will give it a try and see if it helps. and i sometimes forget i am pregnant too, though feeling it more this week. you dont get that time just to sit and think about the baby when running about after the others. though i did have an hour yesterday thinking about baby names, most of which DH didn't like. not sure how we are going to decide this time!

whitedaffodil we did the JL nursery list thing with both DC1 and 2 (i like free coffee and cake!) it was really good, it meant that we were given things that we needed and wanted and it was all delivered to our house. and JL price match too, so if you find it cheaper elsewhere they will refund the difference. most things are still going strong from first time round so dont think i can justify it this time round.

i might see if my mum is up for a shopping trip on friday if i'm not too tired to drive as i think i will be needing some maternity jeans very soon and we can look at some cute baby things whilst we are there.

thanks for letting me whinge Smile
