Marking my place on the new thread.

So hungry today. My munchies don't usually start until the evening. Oh well, eating for two and all that......

Guavasforbreakfast · 26/01/2013 14:18

Thought I might look on the boards to see if anyone had started a new thread - can you make a link on the old thread for everyone?

Thread 4 and nearly 16 weeks - now I feel like I'm getting somewhere! If the bump would follow suit I'd be even happier...

MrsRoss I've had the sneezing issue a few times, even back in the horrible first trimester days where it panicked me much more, the first time I thought I'd torn something baby-related (totally irrational as the pain went away very quickly). It's mainly if I sneeze when I'm lying on my side, I find if I turn onto my back and sort of brace when know a sneeze is coming, it doesn't hurt.

Runswithsquirrels · 26/01/2013 14:38

The old thread won't accept new posts. And I don't know how else it might be done. Ideas anyone?

Wow you ladies talk a lot we are going to be 20 threads my 38 weeks :p

Hello new thread! Glad I found you! Not sure what to do about alerting others, as you say runswithsquirrels the last one is full so I don't think there's any way of posting a link. This was easy enough to find though by clicking on the "last day" link... You're right photographer, I can see us having at least 20 threads by the time we pop! As I was scrolling down looking for this I saw "Feb 2013 - thread 4" - they obviously have far less to say than us!!

Exciting news of the day - I bought 2 more gigantic bras and 3 pairs of maternity tights (normal tights have started digging in now and boobs on another growth spurt Blush). Tights are on 3 for 2 at Boots at the mo if anyone else is looking Smile plus you can get all sorts of vouchers if you join their parenting club, plus extra points on baby stuff.

I can't remember who said on the old thread about whether it is time yet to book onto NCT classes. I would say yes as they do tend to get booked up early. Mine doesn't start until 1st May but we booked a couple of weeks ago. Really looking forward to it actually.

marks place

My nct course is also starting in May, so we'll be booking this week I think. Thanks for starting the new thread!

McKTastic · 26/01/2013 17:24

Hello all Smile

Marking my place.

Am knackered today! We move out next week for our renovation work so have had to do a bit of packing today.

Am still puking - have had enough now but looks like I might be unlucky like last time & puked regularly till 24wks Sad

My DD has started to night wean - or at least has done for three nights now. My milk supply is obviously lower. Am hoping she'll keep feeding/trying to a wee bit but am happy we've fed for as long as we have & I'm not forcing her to stop (although I suppose by being pregnant I am!).

Have been reminded of all the baby stuff we have when packing - don't think we'll need much more! Am contemplating a double buggy - think we'll get at least 6months/ a year out of it as DD will be 2 when baby here. It's a good walk into town but too far for a toddler & I think a scooter/buggy board would be beyond her at the moment.

I have the hypnobirthing book & we did NCT classes - had a home birth booked for DD but she arrived too early & sideways so ended up an EMCS. Funnily enough I wasn't too into the NCT breathing/relaxation bits but I def made good friends. My most expensive friends but all worth every single penny!! We saw each other about twice a week when we were on mat leave & I prob see at least one or two weekly now. Some are also pregnant again too which is good company!

Sorry for long post - am avoiding packing!

feeling very cold and achey today, still dont feel very pg at all which is a worry but sure i have been having some little movements recently. was very naughty and bought two things today for the new baby - a teeny tiny sleepsuit (sure babies aren't really that small) and DS chose a little grey cuddly dog for his baby brother or sister Smile. probably should have waited a bit longer but they were just too cute!!!

Quick post, marking my place. Just getting ready for date night, we've got a babysitter Grin. Starving already and table isn't until 8.15. HUNGRY!

Thinkingof4 · 26/01/2013 18:26

Hi all, new thread already!
I'm sure everyone will find it ok. Just spent afternoon going through box of maternity stuff and putting some 'normal' clothes away. Found some comfy under bump jeans with thick elastic band at top and have been wearing them all day. Super comfy at the moment but I seem to remember they become much less comfy by third trimester. I'll be in leggings by then I think!

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/01/2013 19:37

I'm hoping to go shopping in one of those cities with proper shops that sell maternity clothes on Monday. Last time I didn't really get any maternity clothes, just a couple of longer length tops. I lived in normal leggings and dresses. This time my bump is well ahead of what it was before (and I'm hoping for a normal sized bump this time - DD had IUGR) so I'm thinking about getting some maternity leggings. Any advice??? What size go I go for? Normal size?

McKTastic have you looked on the BF while pregnant thread?? It might be helpful. Congrats on BF so long. One of the reasons I stopped was because I had been TTC so long and I really missed it at first.

elliejjtiny · 26/01/2013 19:48

Just marking my place on the new thread. I bought a snow suit on the mothercare website for DS3 who keeps getting chilly on the school run and a pack of 2 maternity bras and a pack of 2 maternity tops fell into the basket, wonder how that happened Grin.

Abzs · 26/01/2013 19:51

Shiny new thread!

Had a lovely sunny cross country ski day. Taking the last chances, before I get too bumpy!

Had my 16week appointment with midwife this week. No heartbeat listening, that's done at 24weeks here. She signed the box to officially change me over to consultant led, so I have to wait and see who I get assigned to then ask medic friends what they're like. I still have the standard appointments with her as well, so as my (Dr) SIL said, I'm getting my money's worth from Obs & Gynae!

wifey6 · 26/01/2013 20:35

Wow..thread 4 ready. Smile Just marking place as I can't keep up with how quickly these threads move x

photographerlady · 26/01/2013 20:43

ama good find on the tights.

abz hope your switch on consultant goes smoothly.

My 16 week MW appointment is Thursday and feel so embarrassed I've put on weight. I have a high bmi anyway but my hunger has been out of control the last two weeks. Today was the worse cause my DH keeps buying scones and sweets. After cream tea we went to the cinema and went full out on popcorn and tango. Poor baby thinks my tummy is a bin today.

Cutandstick · 26/01/2013 20:53

Hi all, just to forewarn anyone who decides to buy a hotmilk bra directly from their website, you get a 1/3 extra slammed on the price as a customs charge before Royal Mail will have the now 'most expensive bras I have ever owned' over. Angry I allegedly have a local stockists, but they have no stock, so hence my foray on line. Thankfully they fit as I figured it would be cheaper to flog them on eBay and cut my loses than pay such an EXTORTIONATE customs charge again! Grrrr!!!!!

dinkystinky · 26/01/2013 20:54

Evening all. Thanks for the new thread Runs. Best way to help the others find us is to chat lots. MIL had an op last week and is coming out of hospital today so DH has gone to look after her - so for once I ate with the boys at 5.30 and am luxuriating in being in bed around when we normally eat! And MNing from bed is quite fun too. Am making the most of the down time as have fortnight from hell looming at work...

Totally - get mat wear in your normal size. I am not a huge fan of mothercare as found all the stuff I got from there when pregnant with DS1 either bobbled or came unstitched really quickly. H+M, top shop and red herring at debenhams were my best high street stores. I love asos doing maternity too now for cheap bright tops.

dinkystinky · 26/01/2013 20:56

PS first timers going for nct definitely book up now. You won't do the class till near your due date but they get booked up ages in advance.

dinkystinky · 26/01/2013 20:57

Ouch at the customs sting Cut!

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/01/2013 20:57

Thanks dinky. I've been impressed with H&M 'normal' leggings, so I'll give them a try.

marimama · 26/01/2013 21:08

Marking my place. Be back later!!!

CitizenOscar · 26/01/2013 21:24

I'm loving my H&M slim fit, over bump jeans. Have to wear with a belt to avoid slipping but I know the over bump stretchy fabric will be great with bigger bump. They're low slung so belt sits round my hips, not across my belly, so pretty comfortable. Have found my under bump trousers annoying this time round - maybe I'll grow into them!
