I have booked a scan on the 11th (just realised posted incorrectly above) as my dh is coming home on the 10th for a week. He's not been home for any scan so far and won't be here for the 20 week either. As with DD he is desperate to know the sex so I've booked a gender scan. I can't wait to see his face!!!

Anyone else feel quite nervous about 20 week scan? I always am just in case they find some big problem. I should just be looking forward to seeing my baby again. Not sure if I'll add myself to list, but it's within next 2 weeks! Maybe I'll change my mind and add myself on later!

Persuasion rage away, that seems to be very unreasonable behaviour for grandparents-to-be. I'd be upset too.

Talking about being upset, my hormones are going crazy too Dinky, I found myself crying whilst watching 'Wanted, Down Under' (the bit where they talk to friends/family back in the UK - not even the person on the telly was crying!).

Glad I'm not the only hormonal mess on the thread! Persuasion - often grandparents are either the hugely overexcited buying tickets over to be with you on the day you give birth and buying heaps of baby stuff to keep at their house type or the not getting excited till the baby gets here type - maybe your parents are of the latter type? My MIL wasnt keen on babies but as soon as DS1 (and DS2) arrived she changed her tune and went totally doolally for them. Still is.

I feel very weirdly calm about the scan. But then I think this whole pregnancy thing hasn't really struck me properly either. On top of that I'm excited to see the little wriggler again - I'm basically an emotional contradiction recently. It's a good thing my DH knows this about me already!

Yay to girls & boobs & hissing. I've developed a bit of rage. I've definitely got more energy now & can't exercise to use it so its being manifested as rage for now I may have given another driver the finger in my car yesterday

Great news for all those finding out about baby gender. Is anyone else on here not finding out?

Totally - had to giggle at your cleavage growth. I was a C/D (depending on my cycle) before pregnancy. Now completely an E cup and definitely showing it. It's quite funny, bar the discomfort at night and trying to cover it up at work!

MrsRoss I was a FF before pregnancy - I think last time I ended up a H cup!

Thanks dinky, sunday and MrsRoss. It's good to know I'm not going totally mental with hormones, and that it might get better!

I think I am more excited to have the scan, no longer a little wiggling kidney bean but our babies are proper little independents who moved right in.

Thanks iclaudius. I have 58 cousins so am aware of the benefits of large families. Wish we could have had a larger brood too but what will be, will be.

Persuasion I wonder if your DM just worried that you wouldn't want any baby stuff too early on in case you felt 'jinxed', and she only meant for DMIL to wait until later in your pregnancy???? I know some people refuse to buy anything until after 28 or 30 weeks.

MrsRoss we won't be finding out the gender. We had so many extra scans for research & then for IUGR with DD, but still managed to avoid finding out.

Thinking I'm nervous too. I'm always worried between appointments that something's gone wrong, but the anomaly scan seems like a much bigger deal.

Guavas it's odd - I have no problem referring to my own bump as an 'it', but u feel really rude referring to other people's the same way!
