DifferentNow - congrats on your little girl. We're going to go for a baby jogger city versa I think. Dont forget to get your GP to do your fit to travel letter for when you go to paris. We're going to Lanzarote in April (just before I turn 34 weeks) which we booked before I even got pregnant - have had to pencil in my date for a GP appt in my diary to stop me forgetting to get the letter!

DifferentNow · 04/02/2013 10:20

Thanks Dinky! Have fit to fly in hand (assuming I remain fit to fly!). It's a bugger cause inbound flight is Flybe who require GP letter but outbound is Air France who don't seem to mind if you board in labour! Do you mind me asking why you've decided on the Versa model?

dinkystinky · 04/02/2013 10:25

Glad to hear it DifferentNow.

Want the versa as want a four wheeler rather than 3 wheeler (had Quinny Buzz for DS1 and found it really difficult walking in the woods in Hampstead heath with it due to the single front wheel). Love how easy the Baby Joggers seem to be to fold one handed.

CottonSock · 04/02/2013 12:20

Hi all, hope you had good weekends.

Scan this morning, I have a girl too. Very happy :)
Also, got due date adjusted - they did have it wrong before so now 24th June. Will update list.
Also, my DramGenii pillow just arrived.
And, I discovered my maternity jeans have a hidden adjustable waistband - so I can wear them and not return due to falling down issues.
And, I have my Bumps class later today, so not much work going on :)
Good day for me then..

Buggy question of the day....
After looking a lot at the Boots sale mountain buggies, I'm not convinced they are good enough for proper offroad / running (unless you get the Terrain which is discountinued)?? I have seen reviews that say mud blocks front axel. Any thoughts? Anyone got a buggy that is good for proper offroad / light jogging?? I have also seen the Out and About 360 nipper, which has good parent reviews. I don't want to sepnd too much, because will also get a compact travle system, but could save ££ by getting second hand.

orangebubbles · 04/02/2013 12:47

Girls girls girls! Yay! Congrat's Cotton and different

Dinky have pm'd you re buggyboard. One of my friends is a Doula, I think they are fabulous. Big advocate for home birth here, but MW led unit is a second best option worth considering if you have one near you.

Devil sorry to hear that you have had to say goodbye to your beloved cat, always sad to say goodbye to pets, wallow away x

photographer loving the hypnobirthing gift, that's lovely.

Guavasforbreakfast · 04/02/2013 13:32

Grin at 'do not touch me hissss' photographer. That has definitely been me, hiss and all. Just teetering on the edge of it this week, DP has his fingers crossed...

BadMissM · 04/02/2013 13:34

iclaudius Waves! Oldest? I'm 45, are you older than me? Will be 46 by the time LO arrives.... Have lots of DCs?.... I only have a 14 year old DD.... Think you're not so far from me either....

I had the Harmony too, mine was fine, how did yours go?

Sashabella It's DC2 for me...but am only 5'2'' as well, so big bump already!

Dinkystinky DD keeps catching me crying at stupid kids programmes....

Paolocee Had appalling migraines and headaches with DD... so bad was hospitalised on a couple of occasions...

photographerlady am waiting for that bust of 2nd Trimester energy too...

My Dh is likely to whisper inappropriate things and make me giggle at NCT. We're booked for the antenatal course....

Devilforasideboard So sorry to hear about Devilcat xxx

Me? Plodding along. Somehow have appt to see Consultant Obstetrician, Diabetes consultant, diabetes midwife/dietician, and mental health midwife, all between 3 and 4 next Wednesday.... rang them to tell them, but they seem to think they'll manage it..... (last time they forgot me for an hour and a half....)

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/02/2013 13:56

News flash! I think my boobs may have grown (having initially SHRUNK). As someone who optimistically wears a B cup it's nice to almost be filling it. Grin
I also thought I felt a movement yesterday, but that might have just been wind. (I'm incredibly windy at the moment. Not good)

Thinkingof4 · 04/02/2013 14:09

vinegar all 3 have been late so far (and induced post dates for first 2) but did have ds3 at term +3 and spontaneous labour (yaay), hoping for the same this time. I don't mind being a few days over this time as school term ends on July 5th so would be easier if baby arrives in summer holidays so no school run! What about you? I'm giggling a bit about your comment about shiny bugaboos, our is 6 years old and very scruffy now, though I suppose it must have been shiny once!

devil sorry about your cat, sometimes it's kindest to let them go. We had similar situation with our 16 year old dog just before ds1 was born so I remember how hard it is

Welcome to the new peeps!

cotton re mountain buggies, I would say they are good for off road, don't know about jogging, I think there are very specific buggies for jogging made by baby jogger but not the normal ones you see in the shops, specific jogger ones with really big wheels! I really rate mountain buggy as a company, I'm looking forward to getting the duet out of loft again, though I suspect I won't get to use it much as ds3 is likely to want to walk everywhere by summer.

Lovely day here, sun shining, blue skies, is spring on it's way? Been thinking about money stuff this weekend and realising how skint we'll be once I'm on mat pay. I work in nhs and have always had a pretty good deal with mat pay before but in my new job I just get basic 90% pay for 6 weeks then smp (for complicated reasons) which I guess is what most other people will be getting so nothing to grumble about really!!

photographerlady · 04/02/2013 14:56

totally congrats on the boobage, hopefully you and I will graduate to C cup sometime this pregnancy Grin

esme80 · 04/02/2013 15:17

Hi all!

Congrats on good scans, baby girls and of course boobage!

Thinking I have been looking online at the mountain buggy duet the last few and really like the look of it. How do you find it? Hoping to have a look at one this weekend.

MightBeMad · 04/02/2013 15:31

Devil, soo sorry to hear about devilcat Sad

Who was asking about mountain buggies? I've got a terrain and I take it jogging, on and off road. It works fine though in very muddy conditions the axle does get jammed (but i'm talking so muddy that I'm slipping and sliding all over the place and probably shouldn't have considered running that route anyway!). I find with mine that I have to run with the front wheel in the unlocked position, as locked it doesn't quite track straight (despite clever sounding tracking adjustment screw thingy) and you are constatntly pulling it back to straight. Unlocked it works fine, although you do need a steady grip to keep it going where you want it to on rough ground. I can't imagine any buggy is any different tbh. It does have air-filled tyres so is a comfy ride for baby but can get punctures off roading (again, same with all buggies of this type I think). Someone online recommended filling the tyres with tyre gel and apparently that really helps so I might try that if I ever get another puncture. I can't decide whether to keep by MB or sell it as I also have a bee+ (original purchase but found it was not good off-road and for running, though great for lifting in and out of the car, public transport etc!) and we're going to need a double when this one arrives so I'm thinknig I might sell the MB and buy a phil and teds with the double kit. I have a friend who runs with her P&T and finds it fine. She goes along the Thames tow path in between Putney and Mortlake (if you know how rought that stretch is).

Congrats to all on scans and gender news! I can't wait for MW appointment on Friday - really hope we'll hear the HB Grin

photographerlady · 04/02/2013 16:09

Roll Call on everyone's 20 week scan. Get your letters yet? Mines in the 25th but I am sure we will have another thread or two by then Smile

Will you wanna know the sex?

Guavasforbreakfast · 04/02/2013 16:21

I do! Mostly so that I can call squidge him or her, not it. Feels like I can then imagine him/her as a real person. Finding it hard as not feeling anything and don't look that pregnant, it's a bit abstract still. Have mine on the 1st March.

esme80 · 04/02/2013 16:32

Im going to find out, am just to curious! Scan next friday, yay!

Hai1988 · 04/02/2013 16:33

I have quite a big bump as no tummy mucsles from ds, was hardly showing at 20+ weeks with ds but have had quite a noticable bump from about 14 weeks this time.

Was wondering if anyone has any experiances with the silver cross 3d pram ?

MightBeMad · 04/02/2013 16:36

Scan 4 weeks today! 4 March. Definitely going to find out (assuming baby plays ball with that plan!).

photographerlady · 04/02/2013 16:39

Hai I have the silvercross 3d. Its heavy and big but really sturdy and out the others at mothercare it was my favorite. I did however buy it off prelove.com at a massive discount because it wouldnt fit on one girls boot and she was selling it never used. (over 70% off).

elliejjtiny · 04/02/2013 16:54

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations on the 2 baby girls

devil so sorry about your cat

dinkystinky I'm with you on the random crying, a lot of that going on this weekend

I bought some wool last week, planning on knitting a hat and blanket for this little one. Could be interesting as I'm rubbish at knitting.

Scan in 2 weeks. DH wants to find out but I'm not sure.

Can we have a list of appointments/scans like the due date one. I've hardly told anyone about this baby and I miss people asking how my appointment went this time. DH is useless for this and never remembers when I see the midwife even if I remind him. He finds babies more interesting on the outside Grin

Hi Everyone
Been lurking here for a while and not posted anything :-) I am due 5th of july and am currently 18+3. I was wondering if anyone is booked into Kingston hospital? I would like to know if you have any info on the consultants as I have been referred to a consultant (for a massive fibroid) but only got to see the most horrendous registrar who basically told me that I am making up the fibroid (it is 20cm x 10cm!!!) in order to get a caesarean!!!

Thanks

CottonSock · 04/02/2013 17:37

Persuasion · 04/02/2013 17:59

Devil, sorry about devilcat Sad

I'm definitely getting a bump, but people who don't know me may just think it's too much chocolate! It is much more pronounced in jeans than in dresses. I have one pair of normal jeans hanging in there with a hair bobble extension, but am otherwise on mat jeans, although lots of my normal tops and some normal dresses still fit.

Buggy-wise we've pretty much settled on a cosatto giggle, the fabrics caught my eye, but whenever I look at anything else it just seems to be the best option for the price. Now just waiting for a sale.

And I just want a mini rant about my parents. They seem to be totally unexcited about anything baby related. And DM told DMil not to buy anything for the baby??? (Officially I don't know this, only because Mil spilled the beans and gave us secret money to buy some baby bits and pieces) I mean, what is that about?? Angry Feel free to tell me I'm being slightly hormonal about it, but it has certainly drawn out some pregnancy rage!
