I'm another one hoping mw will listen for the hb at the 16 wk appointment (not for another week yet), as I' not sure I've fel any movement either totally and cheese.

Liz let me know if you solve the double buggy issue! My dd will be 22 months when this one arrives so I think I'll need one..?

I hadn't felt any conclusive movement (still haven't, in fact) so I was very relieved to hear the heartbeat at the MW appointment. Lay there entranced as this peculiar sound came from the little machine, but that turned out to be interference from my mobile in the pocket of my jeans. Actual heartbeat was very fast and surprisingly strong for such a wee thing.

(Thanks, dinky, for swimming costume advice.)

Morning all - you were all v chatty last night!

Photographerlady - good luck with your appointment today - hopefully they'll be able to tell you what you need to do for the transfer.

McKTastic - good luck with the move. We redid our house about 2 years ago and had to move out (putting half our stuff in storage) - still have a couple of boxes to unpack! Cant imagine doing it while pregnant and suffering from MS too - so I salute you.

Liz - friend with twins when I had DS1 had an out and about and loved it (despite the car seat thing). Another friend expecting twins has just bought the Donkey - but she wont be using her car with it. With an older child I think you need to think about the seat size so it isnt outgrown within 6 months. I know plenty of people (in London so need something narrow to get on bus etc) who went for the Phil and Teds when small age gap between kids - but definitely not parent facing.

Mysterymeg - as others have said, discharge is v v common (lots of hormonal changes and raised temperature seems to equal lots of discharge). If you are worried though by anything, just call your MW or GP to ask.

Totally - I've gone from feeling movement to not feeling much at all. Trying not to worry about it too much - I have my scan next Thursday so hopefully they'll see if there are any issues.

photographerlady · 31/01/2013 10:13

Just standing in the raining at the train station after going to my 16 week midwife appointment. Little heartbeat is great, blood pressure fine and wooooooot no weight gain! Quite glad about the weight control as I have a high bmi and even though I am eating like a horse it's only 1/10 brownies and salt and vin chips.

I am booked in for my 20 wk scan on Jan 25 in Hertfordshire even though I am moving to Salisbury. MW ran the hospital and booked it over the phone just in case my new MW can't book me on time after registering me. It was nice of her to do that either way so in worse case I don't miss out on the 20wk scan. DH ideally wouldn't want the extra 2 hour journey (already will be 1.20 hours to get to work for the both of us) but we both are happy we won't miss out.

Have great appointments today ladies.

dinkystinky · 31/01/2013 10:14

Glad the appointment went well Photographerlady.

Abzs · 31/01/2013 11:31

We have been having pushchair thoughts too. It seems to be the most expensive baby related purchase (unless we go with DH's scheme to build a porch to keep it in).

I think we've settled on the Uppababy Vista, because the carrycot can be used as a crib. The downside is the bucket seat - not recommended before six months, but I wonder if we can use the car seat instead for a while after Small starts holding its head up?

I had good news on Tuesday. The endometrioma hasn't grown in the last two weeks, so I don't have to go back until 20 wk scan (which is now at 21wks with date footling). Typical, get swapped over to consultant and the problem stops getting worse...

TotallyEggFlipped · 31/01/2013 11:36

Vinegar - what area do you work in?

Huffpot · 31/01/2013 11:50

I have a Phil & Teds (11 month gap between my 2) and love it and we walk miles.

Ahhh very envious of those running. I have a prolapse so am not able to do anything high impact.

The swimsuit question is one I've been wondering - now the tiredness is easing I'm going to start swimming once it gets a bit warmer ( I go of a night)

I get bursts of hunger where I'm starving and have to eat instantly or feel ill Smile Good to know its not just me!

MightBeMad · 31/01/2013 12:01

Huff is the phil and teds suitable from newborn?

Glad the appointment went well photo!

slouchingpanda and vinegardrinker I am planning to stop about 30 weeks. I had to stop at 22 weeks with my last pregnancy as became pre-eclamptic. This time (all being well) will keep going till 28-30 weeks. The key is to eat little and often and keep water on you at all times. vinegar I guess one night in 7 isn't horrendous, I used to do that, but you may struggle the more advanced you get. I do 7 in a row, I am hoping they will let me split mine. Bloody rotas.

McKtastic good luck with move.

mystery I have had discharge and pains, its just ligaments stretching / hormones etc. Not v nice though

photographer really glad to hear scan went well. Lucky you, not gaining weight.

I am thinking about the mountain terrain double buggy or phil and teds. DD will be 2 1/4 so thinking maybe I can get away with just a buggy board and a single buggy

shelley72 · 31/01/2013 12:46

back today after unplanned MW appt yesterday after bit of a spotting - all fine and baby still quite happy in there so that was a relief as still not had a lot of movement (if any).

cheeseandbread i had an anterior placenta with my first. the only difference that it made was that i didnt feel kicks so early or as often once they did come. i was forever in out out of day assessment on a trace as i would go a couple of days without movement. they said it was because of the placenta. though perhaps he was just a lazy wotsit Smile.

photographerlady have replied to you on another thread about your new hospital, if you want any info (hospital, NCT, BF, hypno) then feel free to PM me and i will try and help. if not then thats fine. not stalking you honest Wink.

off to investigate buggy boards. must get DD out of the buggy soon i suppose!

Huffpot · 31/01/2013 16:24

MightBeMad It is. The main seat lies down flat and you can put on a toddler seat on the front. I'm just going to do that with mine as when my boys start nursery in December they can double up in there if they get tired.
We live in London and the Phil and Teds fit down the bus aisles too Grin

cheekbyjowl · 31/01/2013 17:16

I'm so grateful for this thread. Ive been reading your posts about m/w appts and realised I didnt have any bookes. Just a scan at 23 weeks but ive sorted that now as im past 16 weeks. Phew. Glad I checked xx

cheekbyjowl · 31/01/2013 17:21

Ps. What happens in this one?

emblosion · 31/01/2013 17:26

cheeseandbread I had anterior placenta with my ds. Basically what shelley said ^ plus movements felt more muffled - wriggles and pushes rather than kicks. Think I was over 20 weeks before feeling anything too.

Am v impressed with all the exercisers! Keep it up ladies :)

Who asked about the icandy pear? We have the apple, it is a great pram but heavy & it is annoying that it has to be in two pieces to collapse. I have a Clio and it fills my boot completely.

Reckon we are gonna go for an out and about double, also getting a bigger car tho ;)

CottonSock · 31/01/2013 17:41

Hi all.

Shiv on the oyster, I am going to get a better mattress for it and use for overnight. Just a moses basket one and then really can't see any difference with a moses basket.

Can't remember who was dreaming about pushchairs Liv - that was me last 2 weeks, although I seem to have calmed down now I have almost decided. Also wanted to mention that Oyster are releasing a double called Oyster Max in March, that might be worth looking at (online only so far). I don't work for them promise, but the helpful customer service lady told me when I asked about the discontinued Oyster plush.

Also - Abz? I think you the Vista always comes with carrycot included so you can use from birth.

My buggy reasearch has been endless.... can you tell

Its payday today and I am considering being very naughty and booking a not very cheap weekend away for DH and me. Whilst we can I'm thinking. We will have a newborn on my Birthday and wedding anniversary this year.
I ordered an sleep genii pillow yesterday so seem to be having an expensive week. Can't wait for it to arrive tho.
Not felt baby move today yet for first time in a few weeks so having some minor anxiety. I actually tried to wake it up by prodding earlier!

I am not sure when to finsih work, but around 36-38 weeks hopefully.
I gave up running after BFP, does not seem right to take up agin now but am swimming and walking. Balance starting to go a bit wobbly!

Also, I have my 20 week scan on MondaY!!!

emblosion · 31/01/2013 17:45

Oh, and McK hope the move goes well :)

VinegarDrinker · 31/01/2013 17:48

TomDaley'sTrunks we will have the same age gap, definitely planning to manage with single buggy/sling/buggy board/scooter

TomDaleysTrunks · 31/01/2013 18:30

Glad I'm not the only one planning to manage. We are very rural and do a lot of walking so am wondering if a mountain buggy would be useful. (am med reg btw).
