Happy snowy weekend all!

My boxes And packaging have arrived so made a Starr in kitchen! Bed 4 was already packed as it was going to have been emptied anyway if fell through as it would become the nursery! Two beds pretty much only have clothes in and we will be getting wardrobes boxes for those so all in all praying we dont have toooo much to do!

Ordered furniture last night; bookcase and tv unit) and I've already been called with my delivery date which is the Monday after I move in-yay!

10- keep your chin up and never rely on thee docs coming when they say- on the positive that's because rightly they will be looking after the littlies- which I'm sure ud prefer.! X

That's great scooby - good to be able to make a start on your packing!

I clicked on it on here, and it took me to Amazon, it was £6.29 with free delivery. TBH I don't really know what it's about, but something to do with home truths every parent should know!

Great news about the house scooby
Thinking of you 10

tasmaniandevilchaser · 19/01/2013 17:21

hi all

10 hope you're holding up ok, keep us posted, big hugs xx Every day baby10 is getting stronger. Having a little snigger at beaver's idea of cleaning the loo with the nutter's toothbrush. I remember my nights in hospital without any fondness at all. Earplugs are a godsend. Thanks for you

reenyand Thanks for you too, hope you're doing ok, sounds rough, take it easy

scooby glad it's all happening now!

geordie Think you're talking about rib flare. I got rib flare with DD, it was awful, painful. But I had acupuncture and it disappeared and never came back.

HI to everyone else, sorry if I've missed any good/bad news, I'm struggling to keep up!

I got some lovely maternity/nursing pjs from M&S, purple vest top and over bump bottoms. I love over bump trousers, so comfy!

tasmaniandevilchaser · 19/01/2013 17:22

oh and belated happy birthday to beaut!

tasmaniandevilchaser · 19/01/2013 17:25

beaver that must be so hard for you and your sis Sad This time last year I was still devastated by having a MMC discovered at the 12 wk scan, I found it so hard to hear about other pregnancies for a few months. But......you need to enjoy your pg as well, hope she's starting to accept and move forward. So hard I know.

BeauticianNotMagician · 19/01/2013 17:43

Thank you Tas its on the 21st so your not late yet.Wish I was celebrating my 21st but ill be 32 Grin

BeauticianNotMagician · 19/01/2013 17:44

MammaBrussels · 19/01/2013 20:41

Thinking of you 10 and Reeny Thanks and the relaxing properties of Wine (even if you can't drink it). Excellent news on the house move Scooby, very impressed that you'll be all packed up and ready to move so quickly!

GeordieCherry · 19/01/2013 21:44

Rib flare?? That sounds a bit 70s & a bit space age! Going for acupuncture anyway so I'll mention it, thanks Tas

twinklingelephant · 20/01/2013 00:30

beaver would be worth you joining the crystal palace mums page as there's lots of free local stuff being passed around mums and info on things to do. It was nice to meet three other locals this morning. We'll meet again soon but not necessarily on a Saturday. Be great if you could make it. About pages showing up on your thread, it probably would at first but then you click on the icon on the right of it on your feed & choose to hide all updates then it would disappear.
lolly I have PGP too. God it hurts doesn't it?! I moaned at my midwife who referred me to the physio. Took ages for an appt but its really helped. Also, an ante natal yoga or, even better but less common, pilates class will really help too.
seven I will try to PM you for the fb page. I'm much better and checking fb than mumsnet. I've no idea how to though so we'll see! Also, as a teacher I have v high privacy settings on my fb so I don't know that you'll be able to find me to invite me. Lets see what we can work out!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/01/2013 09:38

Hope you had a better night in hospital 10, and that you're coping in there too reeny.

I may have to invest in some maternity PJs, my bottoms ate getting a bit tight now and I live in them this time of year. I need maternity tights too, we're going out for a friends birthday dinner on Saturday night.

lollypopsicle · 20/01/2013 10:33

Thanks for the PGP advice ladies. Not got a mw appt for a few weeks so think I'll make a doc appt this week and ask about physio.
tas I've started pg yoga so hoping that will help. tried to find a local Pilates class but no joy there. Going to sign up for aqua natal classes as reckon the support of the water will make exercise a bit easier. My plan of action is to stay as active as possible without too much of the 'wrong' sort of activity (which appears to be walking at the mo! Confused).
Terrified at the thought of being pregnant on crutches with a 2 yr old and having to start maternity leave early Sad

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

tasmaniandevilchaser · 20/01/2013 11:13

pelvicpartnership.org.uk

lolly and anyone else who's suffering from PGP, this website is quite good for advice, if you haven't already seen it

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/01/2013 13:52

lolly aqua natal sounds like a great idea, there's nothing like that here in the middle of nowhere and I don't drive.

This morning we've been busy sledging and make coco pop cakes, it's now snowing again.

I've finally got my (ahem) 20 week scan this week, I take it I must be the last one to have theirs. Does anyone else have any extra scans? I have one at 28 weeks then another at 34 due to previous pre-eclampsia with DS, even though I didn't get it again with DD.

MammaBrussels · 20/01/2013 14:35

7 I have scans at every Drs appt, so every month until 35 weeks then every week! Was scary when I was PG with DS and the scan said he weighed 8lbs at 35 weeks. He didn't even weigh that much at birth.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 20/01/2013 17:44

I was told by GP feeling my belly and by scan that DS would be big, at almost 36 weeks when he was born he was only 4lb 9oz. I have a tiny size 6 friend who was told her enormous bump was mostly fluid, her DS was almost 11lb at birth!

frankienoodles · 20/01/2013 17:44

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well in the snow. we stayed in all weekend painting the nursery. now that we are getting more organised with the baby things it's starting to slowly feel more real although I still don't like to admit what we've bought for him!like someone's going to jump out and say "it's far to early for that!" every time I get something done. we got a pram and car seat on eBay, nursery furniture from my mum's attic! and mother in law keeps throwing baby clothes at us like no tomorrow! I guess it's the same with most first babies and ours is the first grandchild all round too so everyone is going postal.

can't remember who was the very organised one out there doing the Facebook group... seven? was it? I would love to be added but because I'm such a mumsnet newb I can't seem to figure out how to pm my name !

all the best to our snow babies, hopefully they're all warm and safe in massive bellies!

x

Ellypoo · 20/01/2013 19:12

7 I am having quite a few extra scans - had 2 extra ones to finish the anomaly, then at 25 wks (this Fri), then 28, 30, 32 wks then wkly - it really helps with reassurance and to see them plotting the measurements.

I've found H&M good for maternity tights.

Thanks for the link, MW gave me a load of exercises and tips this wk too which is helpful.

To PM, you can click on the persons name and it will give you the option to send a PM.

BeauticianNotMagician · 20/01/2013 19:21

I have some mothercare tights on order.Having a tights nightmare. All the maternity ones I have bought so far are too big and don't stay up.So I tried regular ones in a bigger size but they cut my bump in hAlf.Haha

I don't want to have to go out in the snow.Ive already skidded a couple of times so frightened of falling.I have ordered food for tomorrow as I don't drive but worried it won't turn up Hmm

cuppateaandagingersnap · 20/01/2013 20:53

My favourite tights tip is to wear a second pair of knickers over your tights, a la superman, not sexy but keeps them up at the crotch and super comfy Blush

lollypopsicle · 20/01/2013 21:07

Great tip cuppa! Not sure my DP will thank you for it, though Grin

MaybeAMayBaby · 20/01/2013 21:14

Evening all.

Hope you've had a good day 10 and Reeny. You're both in my thoughts.

Had loads of snow here today. I reckon we've got about 7-8inches out there! It's been a fair few years since I've seen anything like it. We stupidly have been out all day and I'm relieved to be home.
Snow day tomorrow! I feel like I've been given a present or something!

I'll get round to pm about fb tomorrow. I'm about to sit and watch a film with DH.

As for scans-I'm another having loads. 24,28,32,34 then weekly. Plus I want a 3D soon. Only positive of been diabetic.

Take care all of you-and enjoy the day off if you have an cheeky one tomorrow x

Ellypoo · 20/01/2013 22:10

Well it's started snowing here again it not too bad atm, will have to see how it is in the morning - don't want to risk slipping/falling, and can work from home, but I'm also senior staff and should be setting an example. So basically, I want it to either stop snowing completely or for it to snow loads, really heavily all night so there is no chance. Hmm, pretty sure I know which way it's going to go!!
