Hello all, am just popping in to wave, really. All poorly here, tis most annoying, bet I' m better for my three days at work having suffered the whole weekend. Also miffed at the invisibility of being mum - DS is ill too, poor bugger - but wish I warranted some of the concern currently pouring in his direction...

10 how are you? Thinking about you, hope your placenta is doing the biz.

OBEM is starting to have the effect it did just after DS was born- am very burst- into- tears- y when the babies come. Before DS I wouldn't have bothered with it and it s emotional magic had started to fade a bit... now I am weeping willow when it's on (& considering Willow for bump, as a side thing).Anyone else quite distracted/ emotional/ thinking about names? Am NOT discussing names in RL btw, was disastrous last time.. Hope everyone's safely upright in the snow x

10 - i also liike Sebastian, Seb and Bastie but my DH is the same as yours and has rejected it. He wants Reuben or Daniel. I want Alexander shortened to Sacha. DD1 wants Luke and DD2 wants Eli. Never shall we all agree. I take it from the fact you are posting that its been a non-eventful 24 hours. I hope all stays the same today. When do you hit the 25 week mark?

GeordieCherry · 21/01/2013 09:38

I love all those names!

We're also not discussing in RL. Opinions will be offered but not sought!

Debating going into the office today. A 40 mile drive. I know I won't get as much done at home & I'll get bugged by DP...

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/01/2013 09:48

It's my birthday today Grin

Is it silly that I'm ridiculously upset tesco delivery can't get here.I ordered myself treats including a cake.

On the subject of names we were discussing them at the weekend and MIL hates all of our choices. If you are on my fb you will know my other two children's names if you search a bit.Anyway they are quite quirky so suggestions of William,Harry and George don't really go.We have a list of Deacon, Finley,Felix,Jude,Tate,Caleb,Theodore,Quinn and Beau.To be honest none come out as a single clear winner thoughGrin so I think ds will be without a name for a while

Happy birthday Beaut!

Really struggling with names this time. I think it's worse because it's another DD. I just can't find one I like as much as DD1's name.
Tbh, it's consuming my thoughts way too much.

Hope you all stay safe in the snow today. It's really bad here. Haven't seen a snowfall like it in years. It was so nice having that extra lie in this morning (until DD came in to tell us she'd wet bed again). I've started a thread on this if anyone came help?

Sending good wishes to you 10 and reeny.

MaybeAMayBaby · 21/01/2013 10:04

10 can you get a private room?

GeordieCherry · 21/01/2013 10:12

Happy birthday Beaut! Bummer about the cake. Means you get to have double when it arrives though Smile

10, that's great news! Would you have to come back to the Women's or would they let you be at your preferred place?

Ok, our office is open so I'm off in... Hmm

beaut Herzlichen Glückwunsch!

There is still about a foot of snow out but I have to go to work :(

Still thinking of you 10

ohh names I love Jude (who ever is thinking of it) I like Deacon (also like Dickon as well)
Think we have settled on something Germanic but pronounceable in Ireland and the UK. (we've settled of BF surname and mine as a second mn) So far we have Veronika,Monika (Mona), Konrad, Rupert.
I like Gerhard/Gerhardt, Rudolf and Ludolf I think you can get away with old-fashioned german names more here than you can in Germany

If you are having a snow day enjoy and if not be careful, my boss managed to break his foot yesterday on ice.

ng1412 · 21/01/2013 10:39

Just back from the consultant, he confirmed our amnio test results are all clear so I can finally start to plan for this pregnancy. The sex was on the results paper and he asked us if we wanted to know. DH and i were really tempted but we resisted! Feels strange that our doc knows but we dont!

Happy birthday Beaut! Maybe your DH can bake you a cake....we haven't discussed names yet but now we have the all clear I suspect we will. We tend to stick to quite traditional names, we had a few other suggestions for girls names after DD was born but boys were thin on the ground. Plus we have to choose something that the French will be able to pronounce!

10 I am kind of glad they are keeping you in, sounds like the most sensible option. I could imagine it would be quite stressful going home and worrying about getting back in again with this weather. Fingers crossed your little one is lovely and comfie and doesn't want to come out for a while.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 21/01/2013 10:48

Names we have Beatrice for a girl, and probably James for a boy, we'll hopefully find out which it is this week!

Happy birthday beaut. If you're MIL is being irritating over names tell her to bugger off Grin, or just don't tell her your choices.

Sorry to hear you're stuck there 10, though its obviously for the best if you have another heavy bleed anytime soon. Hope the weather improves and you're home again soon.

Builders are being noisy, I think the snow is a bit too deep to trek to my parents with the pushchair though.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 21/01/2013 10:49

X-post, that's great news ng.

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/01/2013 10:53

Thank you ladies.DP is working away and will be until end of Feb maybe longer.Just back the odd weekendHmm

10 is it a bad thing staying in hospital.I know it's boring but at least you will feel more reassured.Do you have an iPad/kindle to help with the boredom.

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/01/2013 10:56

Oh and yes great news Ng you were very good resisting finding out.

I want to book our 4d scan but editing for DP to find out which weekends he will have free.Cant wait to see baby again especially now he's moving more.

BeauticianNotMagician · 21/01/2013 10:56

Editing? =Waiting

lollypopsicle · 21/01/2013 11:30

beaut Jude is top of our list for a boy and my DS name is on your list too (which fb also makes obvious) We must have similar name taste Grin
Though I think it's going to be a girl which I'm finding much harder. Happy birthday btw

maybe, I'm thinking about the name thing far too much too.

10 you must be going a little bit crazy in there, I know I would. Is that annoying woman still there too?

Ellypoo · 21/01/2013 11:33

Great news NG!

Happy Birthday Beaut - I hope you get your cake very soon!! Rubbish about your DH being away so long though, hope he will be back before you get too big/uncomfortable though.

That's really positive news 10, and I'm sure you do want to go home, but maybe it's best if you stay there, just until the weather improves.

Decided to work from home today in the end, we've had quite a bit of snow here again, and although the roads are pretty clear, I didn't want to risk the pavements and the carpark at work. Expecting my delivery from Boots too, really hope it arrives, then I can wash the baby grows etc and get the hospital bag packed.

We have decided on names pretty much, but we can't know for sure until the baby arrives, we need to meet him/her before we can finally decide on the names. Some lovely suggestions on here though - am very pleased that ours haven't been mentioned yet!

Take care in the snow and ice everyone!

rachywhite83 · 21/01/2013 11:35

Just come back from a trek to the hospital for a scan. It was really beautiful. Baby seemed to have grown loads in 2 weeks. Everything great with the measurements. Was such a wriggler and they struggled to get some measurements but a bit of patience and it was fine !

Thinking about you 10. Just enjoy being in the warm and dry x

Ellypoo · 21/01/2013 16:14

That's lovely rachy

10 & reeny - how are you doing?

My Boots delivery isn't coming today now because of the weather, and they can't tell me what day it will come instead, so may not get it until the end of the week :( Means I can't start to pack my bag yet - want to wash all the little clothes before I pack them (have only ordered 2 'starter packs' for the basics - one in tiny baby, one in newborn, just in case!).

tasmaniandevilchaser · 21/01/2013 16:50

hi all, congrats on the good scan rachy Smile

10 just concentrate on relaxing and being looked after, hope you're getting a bit of sleep and the crazy lady has been discharged and baby 10 is planning on staying put for a bit longer.

Some lovely names coming up, I love love love Willow and Jude. We're not telling as people just make bizarre comments. Really the only thing you can say when people tell you is, "that's lovely", lots of people seem to have missed out on this very basic social lesson. Mum and Dad I'm looking at you!

I've been working from home today which is great! Still in my lovely, comfy M&S pjs. The school is closed, fingers crossed it's closed tomorrow as it's quite a long walk down side roads from the bus stop and I'm worried that a slip will make the PGP worse. As for bleeding and worse, I'm trying not to think about it. But have just found out from another thread that as I'm rhesus neg, I'd have to go in for a anti D jab. No midwife has ever told me this in any of my pregnancies!

Also just had very brilliant news, DH has got a new job!!! In about a month's time we are going to be a LOT better off, and he'll be working A LOT closer to home, I cannot tell you how pleased I am!!! So when DS arrives I won't have a DH arriving home at 8,9,10pm at night. I am smiling my face off right now!

Hope everyone else is ok and keeping safe on the ice

MammaBrussels · 21/01/2013 18:03

Happy birthday Beaut have a birthday Biscuit if Tesco can't provide the cake. Glad the hospital is prepared to discharge you when the weather turns 10. Brilliant news about the amnio NG and Tas's DH's new job!

All snowy and pretty in Brussels. We had loads yesterday but no more forecast now Sad. My school will never close for snow, my bosses are Finnish and Polish so they know a thing or two about the white stuff.

We've got our name sorted but not telling anyone until she's here. Do any of the other teachers find that some names are tainted by former students? Makes picking a name a bit of a challenge, like having a book of baby names you can't choose from.

cuppateaandagingersnap · 21/01/2013 18:17

Seems to be lots of good news today which is fabGrin, congrats to ng on good amino result, what a relief, and to Tas's DH on his new job, glad baby 10 is staying put and bleeding settled, sorry you're not getting home but you are in the safest place I suppose as things are a tad precarious with your poor old placenta.
Happy Birthday to Beaut hope your cake arrives soon!
Love the names that have been suggested, especially, Jude, Willow, Finlay, Monika and Konrad, although don't think a child could complain about any of them TBH.
We have to be quite careful with names due to our surname which as you'll see from FB is Downie, so names like Ben,Neil, Cameron(Cam), Hunter or anything that sounds like a verb before 'down' basically is a no go! We're pretty settled on Thomas (Tom) though and have started referring and speaking to him with that name so will be hard if he comes out looking like a Nigel or something else!
