So nice to see some faces on fb.Smile

GeordieCherry · 18/01/2013 22:43

Hard to describe Beaut, so be patient!

Standing, proper posture, feet hip distance. Pull stomach gently in & slightly tilt pelvis under. Relax & repeat

Seated, knees out to the side & feet in a bit as if you were in 2nd position in ballet. Just so it's comfy, don't sit awkwardly. Fingertips on opposite shoulders so elbows are crossed & lift elbows to shoulder height. Relax shoulder blades down your back. Pull in stomach gently & slightly tilt pelvis, like with the standing one. Relax & repeat

Other one we did was like a smaller version of the Cat in yoga, less range if movement: lift bump up towards spine & slightly tilt pelvis under. We then added to that lifting alternate hands & knees but without wobbling. Think Pilates!

They're very gentle movements so no 6 packs! But I do feel a little tighter in that area Smile

Rachy, nah, I'm an ex-pat Geordie bird! Lived in Liverpool a few months

BeauticianNotMagician · 18/01/2013 22:46

Geordie Thank you.I really do ask some questions I know.In real life I never shut up and I'm so inquisitive about everything.

GeordieCherry · 18/01/2013 23:06

It's a v gentle class so I wasn't expecting to be doing the plank today! I know the ones you do laid on your back are no good but plank was okayed by my fitness instructor from circuit training. And a quick Internet search says they're ok, just take it easy

I'm a chatty person too, so carry on! Smile

berri · 19/01/2013 04:07

How's things reeny and 10?

Hope everyone is keeping warm!
Starting my hypnotherapy class on Tuesday, didn't realise it had come round so quickly! Nervous!

10- really sorry to hear your news- though on the positive he is lively and strong and hanging on in there- good lad! ;-)

Take each day as it comes and keep those legs crossed ! Each day improves his odds which at 25% are already pretty good for someone so dinky- and he's clearly a toughnut so he WIlL be the 25% of that I'm sure!

Hospitals are horrid aren't they?! I was admitted a couple of years ago with asthma problems and discharged myself eventully as I got such little rest - they are never the place to be when your poorly! That said it sounds like you are I'm fantastic hands so hang on in there and keep your headphones in ;-)

Thanks all for your kind words re out move- especially 10- who really should be thinking of herself right now! ;-) -
It is such a relief! I spend the afternoon/ evening sorting out redirection/ cancellation / moving of sky etc etc and also ordering wardrobes and furniture of spied and hoped I'd still get in sale which I have. Not just spending for spending sake- our current house has all fitted wardrobe so really needed to order some new ASAP or nowhere to put all our crap!

Taken the day off work to pack - though not sure the boxes will be delivered in this snow... Could be packing as we walk out the door at this rate- and poor DH has a wooden playhouse to dissemble sometime before next Friday..... Brrrr!

Thinking of you 10 and your LO, sounds like you are getting really good care. Hang in there little 10! Sending you lots of virtual hugs and Brew
Your bed neighbour sounds like a total nob. It's rubbish enough being in hospital without having ppl there that behave so inconsiderately.

scooby yay! for moving into the new house, you must be so relieved to finally have exchanged and now you can start making the new house your home ready for the new addition! Packing sucks, hope it all goes smoothly.

Hugs to all those who are suffering from unpleasant symptoms. Hope they pass soon or are at least reduced. Bump is growing here with lots of kicking now for me and DP. We can now ask her lots of yes/no questions ( just like a magic eight ball! Except with kicks), hours of entertainment Grin
Off to make a snowman here today.

23+3

lollypopsicle · 19/01/2013 09:24

Oh 10 what a worrying time for you and DH. As a couple of people have already said, most of us probably know of a baby that was born really early and is now happily wreaking havoc. I know a baby born at 25 weeks and another at 23 weeks. The 23 Weeker was born last yr at Liverpool and had a tough time but is now fit, well and back home causing mischief.
The 25 Weeker was obviuosly small and needed care but was overall a healthy little thing that went from strength to strength. She is now a bossy 3 yr old.

Stay positive and get some ear plugs Thanks

Berri is it hypnotherapy for hypnobirthing or a career change?

Need to get the hypnobirthing book & CD. Might make a trip out in the snow today to get a Discman (hello the 1990s!!) as no stereo in the bedroom

10, get the light on, get your visitors in, chat away, 'accidentally' drop something loud. Get your own back! People like her are one of my many reasons for wanting a home birth.

Hip flexors are still grumbling after yesterday's walking so going to head for a swim in a bit. Love my comfy new maternity swimming costume too Smile

Anyone else getting rib pain? It's not a baby's foot or anything, it's higher up than that in between my ribs. Left side

beaver33 · 19/01/2013 10:53

Oh 10 my love - I have such admiration for your strength over all of this. I second everything everyone else has been saying. The only thing you can do is focus on the positives: the sheer wonderful professionalism of the staff at LWH, the expertise re your little boy and the determination of everyone to make sure he and you make it through all of this. That's what everyone is working towards. Keep talking to us, won't you.

Did manage a giggle at your battle with the moron opposite. I've fortunately never had to spend a night in hospital but if I did, that's exactly the kind of thing which would make me seethe. Keep the lights on, use her toothbrush to scrub the toilet and make sure someone rings your mobile while she's asleep. Selfish cow.

scooby congratulations!! Thanks well done for persevering!

On the FB group, would it show up that I've joined it on my feed? The only reason I ask is, because of various family difficulties (my sister miscarried at 12 weeks when I realised I was pregnant and it's safe to say this has not gone down well and she is still enormously delicate about the issue 5 months later) I have not revealed my pregnancy on FB. Mainly I don't want the congrats/well-wishing to affect her, which it still would do.

I live in London but am a proud Scot, and lots of my Scottish friends still don't know I'm up the duff.

So if the group outs me, I'll have to steer clear....

cuppateaandagingersnap · 19/01/2013 11:17

10 keeping everything crossed for you and LO. Hopefully gobshite in bed opposite will get discharged soon and leave you in peace. Hugs, xx

Scooby glad things moving forward for you - no pun intended! We're doing as much sorting and packing here as possible too, our moving date is the 1st Feb, I think things are a bit more straightforward here in Scotland, we had to exchange contracts before Christmas with a moving date and completion on 1st Feb.

WildeRumpus · 19/01/2013 11:19

Hey all, long time no see :)

10 am so sorry to hear your news and echo the positive vibes of everyone else. Sounds like you are in the best place. I cAnt imagine this is at all easy for you. Please talk away here won't you?

Congrats on exchanging scooby :)

Lovely to hear about people exercising and enjoying the snow! And movements! So pleased for you all. And commiserations for the ill peeps :(

Been crazy here, move to Cornwall next month eek! Big change. Bleeding getting worse which is a bugger... Seeing mw on tues which is a relief. Envy anyone enjoying the snow... I can't go out in it but don't mind having to stay in and read by the fire :) am now a stay at home mum and adore it! Luckiest person ever.

Sorry don't post much, now I don't work I rarely use my laptop and phone is rubbish! Do lurk tho :)

Take care ladies, especially 10 and reeny x

SevenReasonsToSmile · 19/01/2013 11:20

beaver it's a secret group so only other members can see who's in it and what's been posted. I hope regardless of your sister you're enjoying your pregnancy and not feeling guilty, I'm afraid in 4 months time you will be having a baby and she will have to accept it.

Ellypoo · 19/01/2013 11:21

Oh 10 my love, am keeping everything crossed for you and baby10. You really are in the best place, it sounds like LWH is a fantastic place (other than the silly cow opposite).

If the fb group is secret then it won't show up on your feed at all, either that you joined the group or any posts. Looking forward to putting faces to named - seven have you managed to set it up yet? Pm me if you can't find me Wink

DH has banned me from leaving the house!

BeauticianNotMagician · 19/01/2013 12:02

Hello all.
10 Baby sounds like such a lil fighter.Fingers crossed for labour or intervention holding off.Your hospital sounds great care wise but they don't have the greatest bedside manner there do they Smile Im actually really shocked that the percentage at your stage is 25 % I would have thought it would be higher.I take it that goes up quite a bit with each day/week.

I have a question about maternity wear.Where is everyone getting there's and what are you investing in.Its like Ive forgotten how to dress properly feel like such a frump.

Good luck to all those moving. We are renting and really should move as the boys are a bit cramped now we've put them together. However, absolutely nothing is coming up at the moment. So it's either move before baby comes or persevere here for longer.I will be sad to move. Not being from this area it has been lovely to be made so welcome by our neighbours.I don't drive and neighbours have been giving me lifts on the snow and checking to see if I need any food in.Thats quite a rarity to me.They all look after me as they know I'm on my own with the boys all week Grin

Ellypoo · 19/01/2013 12:10

That's really nice to have good neighbours beaut, lovely that they are looking out for you!

I have bought a lot of my clothes from New Look - it's nice and cheap and I got some good things in the sales too. I have mainly gone for leggings & long tops, I have got some jeans and trousers from there too, had jumpers from last time, and I'm still wearing my 'normal' cardies! I have invested in some decent pj's though!!

BeauticianNotMagician · 19/01/2013 12:14

Elly I just ordered some New Look jeans ones that go over the bump as all my others sit below and drives me mad pulling them up.Where did you get your pjs I need some good ones seem as I ahem live in them Blush

Very impressed by the Next courier that made it to my house this morning.I now have some super sensible knee high, flat boots for trudging about in the snow Grin .Not that I intend on going far but apparently the boys school never closes in the snow.

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 19/01/2013 12:20

Thinking of you 10. I hope your placenta keeps working for a few more weeks. Did they give you the stats for 28 weeks? I bet they are much more comforting. Will you def have to stay in hospital until you deliver.

I was an inpatient for a week before DD1 and remember the annoyance of my bed neighbours. Except I was lucky and my direct neighbour was a lovely lady who was in for months with bleeds when expecting twins. We later recognised each other from MN posts!

Wilde - I had not realised you were moving to Cornwall. I love that part of the world. Where are you now?

Reeny - Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope your ward mates are nicer than 10s!

Scooby - I will send you a pm for the FB group now I am reassured that it will not show anywhere on my FB profile. For some reason I would be mortified to be identified as a MNer and I am not actually sure why that is.

I am Ebaying my old girls clothes now we know we are having a boy. Just sold a toddler coat and matching hat for £14 + postage so I am happy with that. Only another 5 sacks to sell.

cuppateaandagingersnap · 19/01/2013 12:28

Beaut sounds like you have really lovely neighbours :) I found some quite nice maternity clothes in H&M and some tops from mothercare, I'm wearing quite a lot of long sleeved t-shirts with long drapey cardigans over maternity jeans or maternity slim leg trousers, am bored to death of my wardrobe already but can't really justify getting any more as I do have enough, trying to jazz things up a bit with scarves and jewellery. Zulily are doing some good deals on nice maternity clothes if you're looking for something a bit more exciting.

Ellypoo · 19/01/2013 12:35

beaut - they are the jeans that I got, I find them really comfortable! I got pj's from Mothercare - I live in mine at the moment too!!!

I have just ordered that MN book - Why did no-one tell me (or similar), so looking forward to that arriving next week!

I'm sure stats for 28 weeks are loads better 10 - and I'm sure that every day will make a huge difference too. Did you wake the nightmare ward neighbour up from her lie-in?!!!
