Oops just seen u put ds1&2 earlier! Silly me!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 20/01/2013 11:35

fatas - i know exactly how you feel and i was guilty of doing the same thing at the start. I took 4 regular tests and a digi! But really, like sunshine says, all you can do is try and wait it out and look after yourself. It's such an anxious time and it's frustrating not being able to control things but try and force yourself (thru gritted teeth!) not to think about it too much x

How's the sickness littlemiss?

I had the worst day yesterday, threw up soooo much, but I have read that this week can be the worst for ms, not sure why but I'm hoping it starts to get better soon Smile

LittleMissSnowShine · 20/01/2013 14:29

Oh poor you sunshine! :(

I think i have hyperemesis but medication is bringing the worst of it under control but it's got me pretty much laid up in bed all the time. With DS it improved at 14 weeks and im 11 weeks now so having to grit teeth, swallow tablets and wait it out...grr!! Will feel a lot better about doing that when we've had our booking scan on Fri tho :)

Hello! No I don't know the sex of this one. Although yes I do have 2 boys already so expecting another boy just because that is what I seem to produce!

That Zero Dark Thirty film looks fab. Will definitley be watching that one. Utopia is a channel4 tv series. Really dark but possibly showing promise. Will have to give part 2 a go before I decide! My DH is a fan of graphic novels so this has led to our interest in it!

No twinges yet as the baby has not engaged at all so still free floating or however they say it. I know, first graduate baby. So, so many of us on those BFP threads were there from the miscarriage threads earlier in the year. I am so glad that we are here now. I just wish that some more of those BFP ladies get their BFP very soon and can come and join us here (yes winkle I mean you!!)

We are having a quiet day at home today. Not going to playgroup as the paths are like ice rinks and I am scared of falling over.

For those of you suffering with hyperemsis, I feel so sorry for you. It just feels never ending doesn't it? I hope the scans can at least cheer you up.

fatas - I don't know about the digi tests as I am a cheapskate and only ever used coloured line ones, but at the beginning when I was testing pretty much on the hour, every hour, some of the later ones were fainter than the earlier ones. Diluted piddle??? Try not to panic. I know a mmc can mess with your head though so completely understand where you are coming from. But the pregnancy is far far more likely to stick than not stick so do try not to worry.

fatasbutter · 21/01/2013 16:12

Thanks ted I will keep that in mind!

Make sure you stay off the ice!!

Good luck littlemiss at the scan on Friday!

Kittenkatzen · 21/01/2013 18:30

Hello lovely ladies! I'm back from an amazing long weekend in Rome Smile

What have I missed?! Off to catch up....

Kittenkatzen · 21/01/2013 18:39

fatas just to add my twopenceworth and agree with the others about trying to chill out and go with it. I'm 6+4 today and still no real symptoms to speak of either Confused have had my initial appt with the midwife - which took an age to come round - and have now been told that I have to wait 2-3 weeks before I'll even get the letter that tells me when my booking appt & scan date will be. It's just wait after wait after wait with this pregnancy lark!

I actually haven't been able to bring myself to try for a 3+ week result on a cbd

fatasbutter · 21/01/2013 19:19

Ooh lucky you kitten! Wondered where you had vanished to! Did you have problems flying in with all this snow?!

Yes I do need to chill out! Feeling rather sick this evening, and brewing a big spot too - lovely! Finally plucked up courage to call and make booking appt - it's 4 weeks away, and when I mentioned my mmc they said I can call the hospital and book a reassurance scan around 8 weeks! I was quite pleased just to know its there if I need it - will have a think about it...

So what did they do at your midwife appt kitten?! I thought that was your booking, albeit a bit early!

resipsa · 21/01/2013 23:03

Lurking furtively as other thread quiet and we're all a bit miserable! Glad everyone is doing well.
Smile

twinklestar2 · 21/01/2013 23:33

Another undergraduate saying hello! V exciting ted, please keep us posted!

Hope to be graduating soon and joining you here!

SunshineOutdoors · 22/01/2013 08:00

kitten hi! V jealous of your Rome trip. Bet it was amazing!

In 3 weeks we're staying in a lovely cottage in the Yorkshire Dales for a week. I'll be nearly 14 weeks then so hoping I'll feel a little bit better. Lots of sick again yesterday, but I do have a bit more energy to entertain dd.

Having said that, Thomas on c5 is currently entertaining her, and then soon Noddy will take over so I can have a bit of a slob on the sofa. Vowing not to use tv as a babysitter when I feel better!

winkle we can't wait to have you here full time Smile

SunshineOutdoors · 22/01/2013 08:02

resipsa I didn't see your post. How are you? You belong here too!

Kittenkatzen · 22/01/2013 08:17

at res and winkle Grin yes come and join us we miss you!

Rome was lovely thanks, bit chilly and rained all weekend but its a beautiful city and well worth a visit. Was a bit Envy of DH being able to have all the lovely red wine, limoncello, cured meats & cheeses but I made up for it by consuming obscene amounts of pasta and pizza Smile

fatas the appointment was like a pre-booking one I guess, which the gp said I needed to have when I called to tell them I was upduffed. The midwife filled out my free prescription form thingy and entered me onto the system all officially Grin we chatted about my symptoms (or lack thereof!) and she checked I was taking folic acid. What else....oh she took down my medical history and relevant family details, and I had to tell her which hospital I want to give birth in. She also briefly went through the schedule of appts i'll have, where they will be (either with her locally or at hosi 15 miles away) and what will happen at each. That's about it I think. She was lovely and I'm really happy to have her I think Smile now she sends my details off to the hosi who then write to me with a date for my booking appt, bloods (eek) and first scan, hopefully all on the same day but not necessarily guaranteed if they can't manage it.

Kittenkatzen · 22/01/2013 08:20

Oh and I took DH along to the appt too. She asked him a few questions about any relevant family history so it was quite useful to have him there as I wouldn't have known.

LittleMissSnowShine · 22/01/2013 09:19

kitten - Rome! Hope you had a lovely time :) I was there for the weekend when I was 4 weeks pg with DS, just before we found out he was en route. Really loved it, hope to go back again!

sunshine - you're doing better than me, I'm so flipping ill I can't be left alone with DS at the min cos I can't change nappies or get him food or do anything really. Have to phone GP today to get my line extended but think I'm also going to ask about trying a different anti nausea drug, so fed up!!

Hello res and winkle!!

Hi everyone, hope you all had good weekends?!?
This thread had vanished on my I'm on( why do they seem to go so quick now)
-look away little and sunshine, this is not to make you jeleous but re assure. Kitten!
With dd I didn't have any symptoms at all, didn't know I was pregnant till around 7/8wks and that was only because the doctor told me too, looking back my boobs had felt abit of a tingle at times but aside from that I never felt sick, had heartburn or any of the other pregnancy related things till felt her move, Tiredness was the only exception so don't worry about that!
I had an eventful wkend, slipped on ice carrying dd to car fell on bum and with dd sort of aloft but then started bleeding so had to go hospital ( I have had light spotting twice before aswell) and although had a scan one time they havnt looked for a cause but thus time did abd said I've an errosion on outside neck of womb so nothing that should affect bubs, it may keep happening but atleast there's an explanation, also sporting a black eye where dd hit me in the face with the bottom of fire guard ( don't ask) any with kiddies want to give me some pointers how to discipline at 17months? I don't want to smack and incourage her to if people are "naughty" but the naughty step seems to be a game she finds very amusing and she doesn't seem to understand the word no or if she does thinks its fun to ignore?!

LittleMissSnowShine · 23/01/2013 11:31

kitty - ouch! A slip on the ice and a black eye... not fun!! Glad scan showed things are ok and you have an explanation in case there's any more bleeding. In terms of discipline I think the greatest tool you have when they are that you is empathy, DS is devastated if he thinks he has hurt someone and he's a rough little tike!! So if your DD acts like she's going to hit you or someone else, get her attention and then mime getting hurt and being REALLY upset (you do have to ham it up cos at 18 months subtlety is not a strong point!) and she should hopefully get the picture that whacking mummy with blunt objects isn't very nice and make mummy (and other people) sad. That's not to say DS won't get giddy and still whack me the odd time when he's playing around (and he's 28 months now!) but by and large he does try and be gentle!

OP posts:
kittykatsforever · 23/01/2013 11:45

Thanks little, she's not actual that rough or does anything to hurt, she was bringing the fire guard to me I don't think she realised what she was doing and how heavy it is and I didn't have to ham it up I was crying as it really bloody hurt! She looked abit bewildered, it's when she's playing with the fire full stop or she goes to the tv and pushes it with her hands or tries to hit it with something ( sometimes she's just kissing it If iggle piggle is on etc) but if we say no she starts laughing and doing it more and if we move her or put her on a naughty step she thinks its a game and laughs, taking her bubby ( bunny) away from her works quite well when she's holding him but she's not always, she seems to understand quite a lot but not the word no apparently!
Didn't have a scan but they had a physical look up nice and because they could see something there I think that satisfied them all was ok and they listened to hb etc
You must be counting down hours till fri, so exciting!!

fatasbutter · 23/01/2013 17:40

Hi all!

Poor you kitty - sounds painful Confused
In terms of discipline I find the naughty step works for specific things like hitting or throwing (we use corridor tho so he can see we are all doing fun things through the window but the handle is too stiff for him to get back in!) but in general ignoring or taking to one side and saying things like 'but I thought we were going to do x - we can't do that unless you're a good girl though - are you going to be good?' Sometimes helps if there was a specific plan for something nice to do later - doesn't sound as though it was more than an accident tho as u say and she's still only wee!

Can someone add me (hopefully not tempting fate - but did have a 3+ on cbd...)

fatasbutter dc2 edd approx 19 September

kittykatsforever · 23/01/2013 19:28

Ow you sly old dog with that slipped in 3+!!! Yeay

Kittenkatzen · 23/01/2013 19:31

Thanks kitty that does make me feel a bit better Smile I did have a couple of moments of very mild nausea today, am thinking I might actually be holding it off with the constant eating so tomorrow I'm going to attempt not to graze and see if it makes any difference!

Sorry for your bump on the bum and black eye, glad everything was ok though!

MrsBri · 23/01/2013 20:52

Hello all...sorry, I've been so rushed off my feet with work that I've not been able to keep up with stuff on here. :-(

I had been going to work tonight too, but I just couldn't face it! Only so much I can do before burning out.

Kitten, eating constantly is what kept my nausea at bay, but then again my sickness didn't kick in til week 7, I think. Certainly not really early, anyway.

Kitty...a fire guard?!?! I'm trying to picture how on earth that could happen. Poor you though. Fx the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful.

kittykatsforever · 23/01/2013 20:57

I call it a fire guard, what I mean is when you have a gas fire they have the bottom grate bit you pull out to turn the gas on that's hides the knobs, well that bit! And yes she is surprisingly strongGrin
