Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Thingymajigs · 31/05/2013 14:42

Hello. Smile I think I can join you now, I'm 4 weeks along.
I'm a little worried it might not stick as I'm very crampy but I'm just enjoying it all at the moment.
I need to catch up on what everyones been up to.

MrsBri · 31/05/2013 15:15

Hi Thingy! I saw your post on the 'other side', as it were! Congratulations :-) I bet you really can't believe it, can you?!

Cramps are normal in early pregnancy. I think most people here will tell you they had cramps and all sorts of 'weird' pains / feelings in the first trimester. The third trimester is also a bit special for pains, but that's ages away yet!

Have you told your DH yet? Can't wait to hear about his reaction.

Congrats again!

RedRobin1 · 31/05/2013 15:38

Oh my gosh! Yayyyyyy!
thingy so pleased for you! 2-3 already is a really good sign.
SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

So glad to see you here! Have you told DH? xxx

Kittenkatzen · 31/05/2013 16:07

Yayyyyy big congrats thingy, fab news! Grin

Thingymajigs · 31/05/2013 16:28

Thank you. It still hasn't sunk in properly, no. I think it might do when DP gets home in half an hour. He is going to be so excited. Hope he doesn't start jumping about because I don't want my older two to know yet. This is DP's first but my third. My boys are nearly 10 and 13 so I've forgotten everything about the pregnancy and baby stage.
I'm glad the cramping is normal because its a very definite niggle/tugging on one side.
Better get ready for DP coming home. Smile

weechops · 31/05/2013 17:07

Thingy that's fantastic!! Congratulations! Xx

Thingymajigs · 31/05/2013 18:17

Ty wee. Smile
There were tears and not from me. Every now and then he stops and starts welling up. I think its hitting him in waves. He's beyond excited and has already started talking to my tummy. So cute! Grin

MrsBri · 31/05/2013 18:39

Awww, that's just adorable, Thingy :-)

kittykatsforever · 31/05/2013 19:47

Congrats thingy that's such good news, very very sweet xx

twinklestar2 · 31/05/2013 23:20

Aw congrats again thingy x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 01/06/2013 00:47

Thingy that's amazing news, congratulations. You DP sounds so sweet.

Thingymajigs · 01/06/2013 05:52

Yeah he's spent most of his adult life pretty convinced he'd never be able to have children so this has hit him emotionally. He's out tonight with his friends so he's on strict orders not to tell anyone. Bet he lasts 5 seconds.
Right, I'm going to need updates. Smile Where is everyone in their pregnancies and how are you all feeling?

Kittenkatzen · 01/06/2013 06:15

Awwww thingy bless your DH he sounds chuffed to pieces Smile. Are you going to wait before telling family etc? We really enjoyed having our big little secret to ourselves for a while!

My update is that I'm 25+2 and feeling generally really good at the minute - apart from a bit of insomnia/early morning party baby the last few nights I'm really enjoying the second tri. As for the joys of the first tri coming your way....the tiredness was the main killer for me - in fact tiredness doesn't begin to cover it, it's just complete, utter, can't string 3 words together exhaustion. Although I had it easy compared to some of the poor ladies on here suffering with ms (which I escaped thankfully).

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 07:10

Why did he think that, Thingy? Did he manage to not tell anybody?!

I'm at 37+2 and I'm feeling huge, cumbersome and tired. I'm ready for Baby B to arrive now. :-)

I wasn't as tired as most in the first trimester that I remember, and while I did have MS it wasn't as bad as some. I've had a reasonably steady pregnancy really.

Less than 5 weeks to go now, whatever happens, so I'm just taking it as easy as I can while I still have the chance.

weechops · 01/06/2013 07:26

I'm 12+2 today, scan on Wednesday eek! I've felt ok so far, no ms just tired but that's lifting now. Can't wait til next week :)

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 07:33

How exciting, wee. Have you had an early scan or is this your first glimpse of baby?

kittykatsforever · 01/06/2013 08:06

Ohhh wee exciting!!
Kitten, can't believe your 25 wks I can still remember when you got your bfp seems like yesterday
Thingy I've graduated from the graduates! Dd2 was born 2wks ago tomorrow , we've had lots of good days and a few good nights but last night I could have throttled her she's in a very peaceful deep sleep now Confused

Thingymajigs · 01/06/2013 08:35

I can't believe how far along you all are. Its gone so quickly!
Aww congratulations kitty. I bet she is adorable even when she's keeping you up at night.
mrsbri I remember that stage of my pregnancies very clearly. Mainly because it was so uncomfortable and the end seemed so far away. Hope you breeze through the next few weeks.
kitten it feels like your BFP was only a short while ago! I can't wait until I can feel the baby move but maybe not at 3am though.
Oh I'm excited for you wee. I think things have changed in the last 10 years since ds2 was born. I only had one late scan with him. Does everyone get two scans now at 12 and 18 weeks?
DP is out tonight as in Saturday night so its just me and the boys and 3 cats of course. I'm going to make sure we all have fun and enjoy the time together because it won't be long before the family dynamic changes.
Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping I manage to escape ms again since I didn't have it with my first two. I have lost my appetite a bit though but that's probably due to excitement.
Oh and no we aren't going to tell anyone until 12 weeks. DP has planned out how he's going to surprise his mum on her birthday if he doesn't blurt it out before then.

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 08:40

Thingy, scans are at approx 12 and 20 weeks.

I hope you manage not to tell anyone. I didn't! :-)

I'm hoping for an early arrival here, but know that baby will appear when ready, so preparing for the long haul mentally!

RedRobin1 · 01/06/2013 09:59

Awww thingy your DHs reaction was soooo sweet! Love that he's talking to your yummy already!

I am 8+1 and feeling more in control of ms. The toilet hugging only happens in the evening now and if I stay vertical in the evenings I manage to keep dinner down Smile
Haven't got to the severe exhaustion....yet! DH and I kept thee news to ourselves for a whole week..haha we didn't last long and I told my mum at 5 weeks. Still keep worrying about the baby now and then.

wee so want to be at your stage. 12weeks is such a relieving milestone!

kitty have you started another graduates thread in the parenting section? I had a panic last night thinking I have so many questions as a first time mum and by the time my turn comes to pop this one out you would all have left this thread :(

kittykatsforever · 03/06/2013 07:59

How is everyone feeling today I'm quite chuffed with the news it looks like we are going to have nice weather for this week yeay
( looks for mrs bri to hold hands and dance that we are off)
Alex- how have your scans gone for cervix length etc, how are you feeling? ( or is she on holl's?)
When - your 20wk scan must be soon? Are you finding out what flavour?
Red- how are you doing? Do you feel it's sunk in yet? Have you told your friends etc or are you waiting for the 12wks? What will your due date be? Around Xmas?

kittykatsforever · 03/06/2013 08:00

Only 2 more sleeps wee exciting!!!

MrsBri · 03/06/2013 08:40

Ooh, nice weather, kitty? Yay! :-)

How's life with the little one? So jealous!

I'm telling Baby B it's time to exit! Feeling cumbersome and tired now. And my bladder has finally given in and I'm having to get up at night. Boo! I had a good run though :-)

All exciting on the scans coming up here :-)

And hurrah for the reducing morning sickness red.

Midwife for me today. Hopefully baby is now engaging and we are getting ready for exit! :-)

kittykatsforever · 03/06/2013 09:07

I'd say it was a good sign you need the toilet now, more likely baby has droped and that's why there is a change?! Hopefully you will get good engagement news today!
Have you got a ball to bounce on and things?
Is it exciting to think you will defiantly be next on the bus??

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 03/06/2013 09:20

red glad the ms is a bit better. Hope you don't get the horrible tiredness.

kitty glad you are enjoying the good weather. 20 week scan is due in one week. If we can we will try and see what flavour. I'm thinking its a girl but friends are going with a boy. Getting kicked a lot now which is fun, baby likes being fed, just like its mum Grin

mrsbri not long to go now, end of pregnancy is so uncomfortable. Hope baby b comes soon.

alex how's the cervix? Hope everything is ok.
