Thanks when, it's definitely only in my right side and not in my pelvis so glad it sounds like its not that then Smile It did start as a sharp, trapped nerve type pain but seems to have spread all around the side now, so maybe you're right with the sciatica. Will ask the mw about it next week.

Kittenkatzen · 22/05/2013 12:16

Oh, actually I've just found a really good description of PGP online and it fits me perfectly. Off to google what I can do about it then!

Adsum · 22/05/2013 14:13

Hi kitten!

Lol at when and 'public hair'!! Grin

Glad u are all well! Am currently on cd9 and haven't ha a chance to start shag week yet Shock so will get my seduction kit on ASAP so I can join you all sooooon!! X

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 22/05/2013 15:21

Argh public hair, I thought people would comment on the baseball bag comment (I meant bat). I'm not well - need more sleep. Enjoy shag week - fx as always.

kittykatsforever · 22/05/2013 16:35

When it could well be the same for you, it took me just over an hour for dd1 so the same as you! Was more surprised then you could imagine this time!
Mrs bri don't think you can turn down the forceps unfortunatly if they are needed although if it possible they will do vontouse I'd imagine for you, if its stuck in the birth canal or shoulder thing then you can't go back iyswim it can only come down as it would be assisted because it was stuck, if it wasn't comming down it would be an emcs!
Alex you will feel better by 16wks promiseWink
Red all normal the tiredness was a killer symptom for me too
I've had a crapy few days all well with babies but I had to go back to hospital with complications, won't detail as its the last thing people need and I did have a good birth and hopefully I'm on the mend now

resipsa · 22/05/2013 16:43

Hey peeps. Don't knock the forceps. I had them cause I literally ran out of energy. Hadn't eaten all day and was 10cms dilated when I got to hospital so used up all energy reserves "coping" at home! It only took, ahem, one pull, had episiotomy but all healed fine and no probs for DD. I think definitely preferable to CS if possible, if only cause you're physically limited after CS right at the time you don't want to be!

Adsum · 22/05/2013 19:43

I had forceps too! And let me tell you when you've got all the way to pushing you would probs rather just do as res says and have a quick pull!! Wink

kittykatsforever · 22/05/2013 20:11

Or go for the epi like me, sit waiting reading mag til I'd got to 10cm waiting abit longer for luck then pppuuuuuuuussssssshhhhhh!!!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 23/05/2013 14:55

kitten - i had pretty horrible spd towards end of pg with DS, he was big, not in a great position, ended up needing physio a few times in first 6 months after he was born because i was accidentally compensating for the sore pelvis by doing something v weird with my back lol Its started twinging again so midwife has referred me to physio at hospital, im going next week. wish id gone when i was pg with DS because i ended up damaging my back by not going but i just kept putting it off and telling mtself baby would be there soon so there'd be no point in me going. Anyway, if it gets worse or starts to really bother you def ask for a referral...

when - Yes i'd like a nice short pushing stage too lol made a date and banana smoothie for breakfast y'day...didnt taste too bad!

I had a v long pushing stage cos DS had been back to back for most of my labour but then somehow managed to rotate again shortly before birth. I ended up with legs in stirrups (not dignified or fun!!!) and dr was at the end of the bed with ventouse but she decided if i was able to summon up any energy at all after epic labour, push like and she gave me an episiotomy we'd get baby out ok without it. She was right and it was great but owww!! My pelvic floor has never fully recovered Hmm Hmm So a nice ten min push would be great this time round. Its all sneaking up tho - 30 weeks today and got a check up with mudwife tomorrow Grin Grin

Kittenkatzen · 23/05/2013 15:41

Thanks littlemiss I'll keep an eye on it, doesn't seem so bad today so fx it's nothing serious.

Is a "mudwife" like a midwife only grubby?! Wink

24 weeks today for me - which apparently means a 50/50 chance of survival if baby was to be born today Grin (DON'T come today though baby!!) percentage increases by 2-3% per day per the next few weeks apparently!

kittykatsforever · 23/05/2013 16:20

Isn't it today that they actually class it as a baby kitten? Congrats you are officially having a baby!
Hope all you guys get decent labours this littleone was in awqward positions all the way through pregnancy, breech first then head down but side wise looking to the side, she only turned at 6-10cm dialated!
She is amazing so so cute although could have killed her last night up crying from 7-12ish but then did the most trumps burbs massive poo, think it was her poor little tummy then you just feel so sorry for them! I really have that love feeling floating through my vains for her

resipsa · 23/05/2013 19:59

Aww, kitty, I remember staying up one night (all night - bad idea only in hindsight) just gazing at 2 week old in wonder. LOVED that feeling. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, lucky lady!

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2013 07:32

Awww you two soppies GrinGrin

tedmundo · 24/05/2013 13:40

I typed a long post about forceps not being that bad but lost it.

To recap ... Forceps not that bad!

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 13:57

I think the look / thought of them is probably worse than the reality.

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2013 14:08

Tbh I'm not overly fond of the thought of either giant metal salad tongs or a fanjo shaped hoover being shoved up my lady parts!

I'm sticking with my "lalalala it's not happening" approach for the moment I think GrinGrin

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 14:18

Good plan Kitten!

I'll think about them if / when I have to!

RedRobin1 · 24/05/2013 15:10

Does anyone know any quick fixes for mouth ulcers? I am dying from the pain. I have them on my tongue and its painful to talk, eat, swallow, sleep or even be sick.

Is bonjela safe to apply?

I cannot wait to get to second trimester.

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2013 17:58

I'm not sure about bonjela red - the pharmacist shod e able to tell you though. I suffer with them and find rinsing with salt water helps - its gross and stings like hell but it does work. Maybe not if you're still feeling pukey though!

Kittenkatzen · 24/05/2013 17:59

*should be

'scuse fat fingers!

Alexandra6 · 24/05/2013 19:07

red sorry to break it to you but it's all lies about the second trimsester, I just entered it and am feeling worse than ever! They lied to us!

Only joking, but I do feel awful, was sick and have a cracking headache - I bet it's one of those things that's different for everyone like most things in pregnancies. I'm hoping it's just a bad day and I'll be better tomorrow. Still love my pregnancy no matter what, wouldn't swap it for the world.

Can I ask a question to those non first-timers? What is it actually like being on mat leave with the baby? I really can't wait, and am just wondering how you found it in reality?

resipsa · 24/05/2013 20:18

Red salt mouth rinse. Really. Small glass of water. One teaspoon of salt. Swill for 1 minute.

resipsa · 24/05/2013 20:21

Alex - first six weeks are a bit WTF but the rest I found great. Met a good group of 1st timers, did a lot of "activities" to keep sane and hated going back to work. Some say it's harder than work but I disagree. I think that I'd been working for 20 years before I was on mat leave made me appreciate the freedom more than some.

Alexandra6 · 24/05/2013 20:26

Thanks res I'd heard some people say it's harder than work, the hardest thing they ever do etc - I'm not saying there won't be tough times but I'm so excited and I really think I'll love my mat leave so much, I'll prefer it to work (have worked my whole life too). Really can't wait!

kittykatsforever · 24/05/2013 21:04

Alex I found it the best most rewarding time of my life and I enjoy my job! I hated going back, must admit as baby gets older it is alot more work so you do feel like you've done a days work but apart from getting the sleep thing cracked if you get out and about and do things like baby massage the days go so quickly, my 9 months flew by!
