I sometimes feel like I can feel something but then I've had that when I haven't even been pregnant Confused I wonder if it is just my mind.

However I have definitely been having Brixton hicks - tummy tightening for a few weeks and I suppose it's because this is no. 5 and no longer have any kind of stomach muscles. I did read somewhere once that Brixton hicks occur through out pregnancy but only feel them sporadically as opposed to them coming on sparodically...if you know what I mean. Anyone else had them already? I am going to concentrate on spotting baby movements now

photographerlady · 05/01/2013 19:09

slouch I'm hoping to hand work my letter at the end of the month. So scared cause my work is being half bought out by a big company and all my meetings the last week have been about the work load increase come June. I am starting my leave April 22, which will start with 22 days annual leave then mat leave June 1st which might lead me out of a job but we will see :/

esme80 · 05/01/2013 19:17

Maybe Im not crazy then and actually feeling movement...

I have a question for you who have a few dcs about after pains. Just popped in my head now as was just reading something about them the other day, hadnt heard of it before... With which pg did you start feeling after pains? Only having one dc didnt have any so curious (scared)...

Cutandstick · 05/01/2013 19:37

Been feeling 'something' the last few days, when I have lain down in the evening... Though its my first so I don't know!

Esme80 for me after pains were definitely the worst after dc3, in fact I don't really remember with dc4 but dc3 terrible and linked to breast feeding. The midwives were great though and gave me loads of painkillers. It was like having contractions again but with added hurdle of a new baby attached to your boob, but honestly don't last long. The first day the worst. That's my experience, I have a friend who had bad after pains after dc1.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 05/01/2013 20:05

I had horrendous after pains with dc2 but I was expressing as he was in scbu and apparently breast feeding helps your uterus contract back faster, I stopped expressing because of it. Am dreading it this time!

With dc2 I felt movement like little taps at 13 weeks, dc1 was like butterflies at 20 weeks.

dinkystinky · 05/01/2013 20:10

They were pretty similar after both births for me - though I was in better shape after DS2 so probably noticed them more...

Hi all, hope you don't mind another member in this group! Been stalking a while for advice and answers, so thank you all! This is our first baby, I'm due 15th July and had my 12wk scan Thursday. All looked good, but yet again I have no idea what to expect and of what is to come!

Have been extremely tired this past couple of weeks and bad headaches have kicked in which last hours..... I thought symptoms were supposed to ease off at this time?!?

Guavasforbreakfast · 05/01/2013 20:37

Hahaha ama had the same problem yesterday, just couldn't get the bath full enough without it running out the overflow so they did get rather chilly...

MightBeMad · 05/01/2013 21:02

Oh no don't tell. E the headaches are yet to ke?? They were the worst bit with dc1 and I was hoping I was going to give them a miss this time around..,

Welcome crisp

Excuse the awful typos!

dinkystinky · 05/01/2013 22:01

Welcome crispcraver - the headaches could be hormones or dehydration. Keep your fluids up and hopefully this phase will pass soon.

Love the name CrispCraver, welcome and congratulations!

Cutandstick · 05/01/2013 22:17

Anyone else having pains in their lower rib cage? Aching muscle type - back and front?
Also cake I had like a muscle spasm of my womb- best way to describe it driving to work on Friday, is that Brixton hicks? I had aches all morning, but then it settled. I've just decided that everything must be normal and I'll assume all these weird pains are unless I know otherwise
Smile

trickybarmby · 05/01/2013 22:19

am feeling your pain crisp craver Sad really bad headaches im on baby number 3 and dont remember having any with the other 2 but these are unbearable! Sad Sad Sad x

cogitosum · 06/01/2013 09:42

Hi everyone. I joined a previous thread but very tentatively as I was nervous having has a mmc earlier in the year... I've had my 12 week scan now so feeling confident enough to join properly. I'm due 12th July do just over 13 weeks.

Thinkingof4 · 06/01/2013 09:45

I've had some stonking headaches too crispcraver but definitely worse when I forget to drink. I'm hoping they'll settle down soon

Nice to hear people are feeling flutters, it's such a lovely thing but I'm still waiting for anything convincing- might have felt something last night but not sure

AmaDablam · 06/01/2013 09:55

Welcome crispcraver - like others I love the name, it pretty much describes me over the last few weeks! I have had a lot of headaches too, which seem to be linked to the times I feel the most sick. I suspect it is hormonal as they are similar to the ones I used to get when I was on the pill.

cut I have had those pains too. Sometimes they are slightly higher up though, round the sides and back in line with boobs, so I think they may be caused by the extra weight up there. I intend to get measured up for a new bra next week, something I've been putting off for a while, and hope this might help.

Yesterday I had a really sharp pain in my lower abdomen which was gone within seconds. As I yelled ouch and doubled over, DH asked "ooh was that a kick"? Had to explain that a) it's too soon for that (or is it, going by what some people have said?!) and b) kicks are not supposed to hurt, especially when you first start feeling them. As it was over so quick and not happened again I'm pretty sure it's nothing to worry about, but did give me a bit of a fright at the time as far more painful than any of the aches and pains I've felt so far.

Have a good day everyone...

Oo I've had some pains left and right where everything is stretching. They do hurt!
I was craving crisps early on but now they make me feel ill, which is probably just as well!
I've had flutters too, I can't wait to feel a kick!

Morning all! I hear you on the stretching thing, keeps sneaking up on me. Sooooo lots of lovely scan this week, who's going for one? Mines Wednesday :)

AmaDablam · 06/01/2013 10:58

Mine's Wednesday too photographer Smile Can't wait but also starting to feel a little nervous Hmm

Just weighed myself and lost another 2.5 lbs since Friday Confused Feels weird to be willing the scales to go up rather than down for the first time in my adult life! Please come back, appetite! Poor DH is on a diet and has lost less - how ironic!

photographerlady · 06/01/2013 11:04

My DH has gained 10lbs since the start of my pregnancy lol poor him he feels so bad about it. It's mainly because I brought a lot of salt n vinegar crisps in the house to easy my nausea.

I am nervous too about the scan but at the sametime relieved to find out how things are going. After fertility clinics and endless bfn I am abut over emotional about being pregnant for the first time. Hormones aren't helping I cry at adverts now :)

photographerlady · 06/01/2013 11:06

P.S. I shouldn't use my phone to reply because of typos heehee

MightBeMad · 06/01/2013 12:16

Mine's tomorrow morning! Eeeeeeeeeek!!

Wednesday morning for me too - 9:50am. OH is coming with me; we're dropping DD3 off at school first then we'll head up together.

Last week I had a dream about having an ultrasound - it was a nice & reassuring. Last night I dreamed I was miscarrying. I think my subconscious can't make its mind up what it wants.... Hmm
