Good luck to everyone with scans.

I'm finally feeling more normal (at 14+5) and resolved to get back exercising as I feel the size of a house and so flabby. I normally cycle to work so back on the bike tomorrow (unless it's pissing it down).

DS1 is trying to stop napping which I'd exactly what I don't need at the moment so trying to exhaust him enough every day so he'll sleep. Mixed results so far!

AmaDablam · 06/01/2013 13:10

Me too photographer, especially the Boots one where the teenage girls buy their mum make up and get her to go out on dates! No idea why that one gets me, maybe the thought that this little dot may one day be looking out for me.

wifey6 · 06/01/2013 13:13

Good luck to everyone who have scans next week!

YikesHereWeGo · 06/01/2013 13:45

I've got 2 scans this week. One tomorrow (12 weeks exactly) then the NHS one on Thursday. Can't quite believe I've made it this far but v chuffed. Long may it continue!
Sounds like a big week for scans for lots of us Grin

Hai1988 · 06/01/2013 13:55

Had scan last.week everything was great a few days further along than.i.thought, am.due 12th now. Cud some1 update my stats as on phone.

Getting really bad headaches aswell atm and lots of streching going on aswell.

Grannyapple · 06/01/2013 15:23

Hi ladies...I too have a scan this week (fri)...will be 12 + 3 then..can't come quick enough!

I too thought I felt flutters in fri evening in bed lying on me left side (had same with ds tho not until 16wks)...thought it was a bit early but defo felt like movement flutters...

Currently on a cooking mission this avo to try to be organised for next weeks meals...roasted carrot soup almost done, then into the Greek lamb & macaroni cheese bake..yum! Thankfully ds likes the food too so easy to get his meals prepped too!

Enjoy the rest of your w/e ladies x

Thundercatz · 06/01/2013 17:29

Thank you slouching for your kind words. We have done quite a bit of research and now just hoping that the test goes ok and results are clear. We should know by this time next week so fingers crossed. My excitement is currently tempered in the meanwhile..

I almost don't believe myself when I say this but I'm not imagining it - I swear I've felt occasional pulses/flutters on my lower left since around 10+ weeks. And when I had 12 week scan that's where baby was... Everything I've read though seems to say that's not possible so early as it's my first baby... But it felt like nothing else I've experienced!

dinkystinky · 06/01/2013 17:29

Good luck for all the scans this week. Wow, thats a big cook up you did Grannyapple! Can I come to tea?

Had a lovely weekend with DH and the boys - stickman show, wagamamas and Tim Walker exhibition at Somerset House on Saturday and Corams fields, brunch and Seussical the musical today. I think I must be subconsciously trying to cram in as much as possible before no 3 arrives... I caught myself suggesting a camping holiday to DH yesterday (I am not a big fan of camping normally) for the May half term. Am blaming the pregnancy hormones....

Been off over Xmas as just so much going on 3dcs and working all over Xmas Sad but finally getting back to normal, well as normal as possible with 2 full time working parents and also trying to sell our house.
Good luck to all of you with scans this week, it's such a nice feeling seeing little bubba on screen twisting and turning away in there.
For those suffering with headaches drink more!!! Could be dehydration. I have massive problems as I am hardly ever thirsty, I could honestly cope with 1 cup of tea in the morning and no more but have to get work colleagues and dh to just keep putting glasses of water in front of me.
I'm not feeling anything yet either but still only 13+3 so still time.
Am def in the maternity trousers though, can just about fit in normal ones but they cut in when I'm sitting on the sofa at my desk.
Anyone still got the rage? I flit between that and crying at what a bad mother I am and why did I ever think 4 was a good idea Confused

ArkadyRose · 06/01/2013 17:39

I've been feeling flutters myself - usually in the evening when I'm in bed and relaxing. This will be my 4th baby though, so I'm probably a bit better at recognising it by now. Smile It's different to bubbles of gas - though I've noticed there's usually a bit more movement when my stomach's been noisy. Guess it's not just my OH that is kept awake by my tummy rumbling!

Supershiv1 · 06/01/2013 18:09

I've my 'proper' dating scan on Tuesday 2:35.
I must try to stay calm for this one and not laugh so much and try and get a better gander.
Good luck all!

OhGood · 06/01/2013 18:13

Good luck for all with scans and welcome to the delurkers. Thunkderkatz will be crossing fingers all goes well.

Anyone with 2 DCs - any tips on introducing pregnancy/sibling to DC1? I told DD I was pregnant, and she's made it quite clear that I am HER mummy and told me, pointing accusingly at my tummy, 'I don't know who THAT baby's mummy is.' V funny but slightly alarming!

dinkystinky · 06/01/2013 18:19

Ohgood we had 2 books for Ds1 that worked - There's a house inside my mummy and Our new baby (a picture book) and we talked lots with him about all the cool things he could show and teach to the baby.Don't know how old your dd is but Ds2 was 2 and a half at the time.

Told our DS 2.7yrs & he's heard baby's heartbeat & he says 'my baby' & will pat & kiss my bump which is lovely.
Food question~has anyone else gone from 'couldn't eat even if paid' to 'wow...is that edible?'
I have such an appetite in the evening that it's crazy!

JessicaMLH · 06/01/2013 20:52

Hi everyone, another newbie here Smile been lurking on MN for a little while on and off, but would be nice to get more involved now I'm pregnant.

Second DC, 11+1, due 27th July. Got my scan on 15th Jan Grin but with DD they put my dates back by 5 days... so who knows I could be joining the August club in a week haha!

ArkadyRose · 06/01/2013 20:57

wifey I still feel queasy from the moment I get up, but I seem to develop more of an appetite once it's evening and tend to find myself snacking after dinner. In fact I was just thinking about going and getting myself a bowl of cereal....

specialknickers · 06/01/2013 20:57

Oh stickman! I took ds to see that before Christmas - at the soho theatre, wonder if we saw the same one.

I've also gone from not fancying food to wanting to eat the entire planet. Can't seem to stop eating at the moment. God knows how much weight I'm going to put on at this rate...

Ds came with us to the scan so he knows there's a baby in mummy's tummy. He's 3. He doesn't seem that bothered so far, but he really likes babies so maybe we'll get away with it (till the baby's here and he realises that it's not going back anyway!)....

specialknickers · 06/01/2013 20:59

Arcady I am eating a chocolate muffin as I type. It's my second. Shhhhh don't tell anyone...

VinegarDrinker · 06/01/2013 21:07

I haven't felt hungry since my BFP but the only way of tackling my nausea is to eat, and once I start I can't stop Blush All crap stuff, too, couldn't really stomach much except carbs (although getting a bit more back to normal this week). I find myself having to cook/eat because of DS1 whereas if I was at home alone I probably would go the whole day without eating.

ArkadyRose · 06/01/2013 21:12

specialknickers I'd kill for a chocolate muffin. I have a bowl of plain malt wheats - I'd rather have Coco Pops but we haven't got any.

wifey6 · 06/01/2013 21:12

Arkady...ooooo a bowl of cereal!! I've just had a bowl of Special K which is my absolute 'must eat' at the moment. Smile
Does anyone also believe in the gender theory that sugar cravings = girl & savory cravings =boy ?
I was told this when pregnant with DS & I was all for savory food with him.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 06/01/2013 21:20

Wifey I craved haribo with ds1 and would eat a bag a dayBlush! With ds2 I craved savoury and had a totally different pregnancy so thought girl but it was a boy, I am having a totally different pregnancy this time too and not really craving anything yet so will see in July!

elliejjtiny · 06/01/2013 21:28

Can't remember who was asking about this but in my area the NHS antenatal classes are held at surestart centres so will usually be local.

Been feeling a few flutters but often with farting so could be wind.

I always thought the savoury/sweet craving thing was accurate but this time I keep switching between crisp and cake cravings so maybe this baby is confused!

Is it still normal to be weeing 3 times a night? Surely he should have moved off my bladder and out of my pelvis by now?

Guavasforbreakfast · 06/01/2013 21:45

All this talk of chocolate muffins, really want one now! Am def needing more sweet than savoury but was always like that anyway.
Hot food is like the devil... Even have to leave my toast to cool down and leave the room while it's on as I can't bear the smell. Cereal is also my staple like wifey , that was tonight's dinner! Luckily DP works nights and I don't have any dc so I can get away with it...
