Runs...sorry to hear you had a scare..but thank goodness all is well!
How amazing...a little girl ! Envy
Congratulations x

We'll have to start updating the list with not only our EDD but the sex of our babies too at this rate x x Thanks

Cheeseandbread · 14/01/2013 18:42

Wow so much news to catch up on. Have just been blubbing reading good scan news and finding out about genders!

So glad that Ohgood and flying have had good results. And we already have our first boy and girl announced- so exciting!

I have my 12 week scan on Friday (although I'll be nearly 14 weeks by then). So glad I had a private scan before Christmas.

When some of you talk about cramping pains- I have been having short stabbing pains around where my cervix is... As well as achy period feelings on occasion. Is this what you mean by cramping? Have others been having these strange pains in the cervix area?

My head is also spinning about buggies... I google the names you mention but still have no clue...

Cheeseandbread · 14/01/2013 18:55

I was supposed to say exciting news Runs as well! We are indeed honoured.

dinkystinky · 14/01/2013 19:28

Exciting news about your scan Runs - congrats on your little girl

Guavasforbreakfast · 14/01/2013 19:41

Yay to all the good scans and our first girl and boy! Grin

Cheese I've been getting quick shooting pains there, not sure how far up the cervix is (Blush at not knowing my own anatomy very well) but the pain definitely feels like it's inside the vagina as opposed to in the uterus. Very strange but I'm trying not to dwell on it as there hasn't been any bleeding.

One of the teachers at school has slapped cheek disease, which I'd never heard of but can cause miscarriage and birth defects, so am a bit worried as it's contagious before the rash. Midwife told me to get checked for immunity tomorrow, and am staying off school to be on the safe side. And this is after a child came back with chicken pox last week, I agreed to stay in school after as the spots had scabbed over... HT is going to be so fed up with me!!

Am I just being overcautious?

Cutandstick · 14/01/2013 19:56

Congratulations all you scanees! Lovely to have such fab news!! And a boy and a girl... Prompted the 'do we want to know' discussions again this end!!

magoo which icandy did you have? Also in the countryside with footpaths... So same dilemma!

cheese I have pain in the same place - to add to my list of q's for midwife on Wednesday! guava you're not being over cautious - if you call dr in morning they can give you a blood test to check for immunity. We've had chickenpox shingles and whooping cough in my class, plus the evil virus that have me bronchitis! Germy lot! Be cautious, it's your baby!!

Cheeseandbread · 14/01/2013 20:18

Thanks Guava and Cut for confirming I'm not alone. I haven't had any blood, just pain/twinges.

Guava I don't think you are over anxious at all- you need to look after yourself and bump! If any of my kiddies turned up with chicken pox or slap cheek I'd be doing the same.

whitedaffodil · 14/01/2013 20:27

hi all, been a bit quiet since adding myself to the list a few weeks ago, I can't access MN at work and in the evening I'm generally shattered!

cutandstick and cheese, I was told that the weird pains in 2nd tri are ligaments stretching, that the amniotic fluid exerts outward pressure on the uterus (I though the baby did that, but of course it can't, silly me!) and the ligaments that support the organs are stretching and moving. Can be felt internally or apparently even in the groin / hips.

Scan last week was truly amazing, saw our little one sucking its thumb, kicking and turning.

Good luck to all those still to scan and enjoy it, remember the tissues if you might get teary (in a good way).

photographerlady · 14/01/2013 20:38

Runs glad things are ok. I went to The Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley street I really couldn't recommend it enough they were so informative.

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 14/01/2013 20:41

Which one of yous is the Duchess of C then eh?

Guavasforbreakfast · 14/01/2013 20:52

Thanks cut and cheese, what is it with schools and constant illness?!?! And the massive pile of guilt you get for being off work... Hmm

Roll on maternity leave I say!

flyingsprocket · 14/01/2013 20:55

Not me!

specialknickers · 14/01/2013 21:05

So good to read all the happy scan news. Well done all you babies! Can't believe we already have a boy and a girl... Awww.

magoosmom · 14/01/2013 21:08

Hi cut we got the I candy peach, both the carry cot and seat are really cosy Smile. DS slept in the carrycot at home during the day til about 20 weeks so we got alot of use out of it. It is bulky in the car, will take up the whole boot but I bought it for walking so I was willing to put up with that tbh we rarely brought DS shopping so wasn't really an issue.

MarieKL · 14/01/2013 21:21

Not me either!

Lovely to hear we have our first girl and boy announced. Sorry to hear Flying and Run had a scary time but so glad everything is okay, and great news on the scan for Ohgood and the ELCS for Emblosion as well. Looks like its been a day for good news. I hope it's the same for BadMissM* too.

I'm also in awe of those of you planning to move. So glad we moved out of London this time last year. Like Photolady we've moved near my in laws and they're been brilliant.

I'm planning on telling work tomorrow which is a bit daunting but I'm hoping I'll feel better once I've let them know.

Guavas I agree, your not being over cautious at all. I think if my DS comes down with anything potentially awful I may have to abandon him and DH for a few days and move in with the in-laws. Honestly hoping it won't be a problem but I've never had chicken pox or half the other awful things! Has anyone else with other children done or considered something similar?

Hahahah Weeweewee - one of us MUST be K-Middy, no? Not me, though, as I've already got a DS (unless there's something Kate hasn't mentioned) Grin

Calmisthemantra · 14/01/2013 22:00

My dd (and dh) got slapped cheek when I was 7 weeks pregnant! I worried a lot but never had any symptoms. Got the doc to check my bloods and I was showing antibodies to it but they couldn't say if that was from an old case or this one. Fingers crossed all is well. Another thing to worry about

Supershiv1 · 14/01/2013 22:30

Weeweewee -LOL!
I think wr need to stage a raid on the August thread. I almost forget there are others
Tired now, but will update tomorrow as loads to tell.
flying so pleased all is ok. Sounds very similar to my scare x

orangebubbles · 14/01/2013 23:10

I am trying to keep up but just very busy! Anyway, C'mon ladies look lively we're in Royal company!!! Bit of a bugger if they have their babe a few days before and use your planned name... WWYD? Stick or head straight to the name boards?

orangebubbles · 14/01/2013 23:14

Ps seriously, did anyone see pics of DoC yesterday? Not even an inch of weight gain or hint of a bump! Ugh! My bump is just that ridiculous horrid flabby stage! Yuk!

emblosion · 14/01/2013 23:37

I know! She is so slim, not fair Envy although I ate a family size bag of malteasers today so only have myself to blame (I currently look like I could have eaten the D of C weeweewee Grin)

Guavas you can't be too careful, chances are everything would be fine but its not worth the risk.

Good luck telling work tomorrow MarieKL

We're considering the world of double buggies at the moment - a whole new world of confusion lol!

marimama · 15/01/2013 01:54

Hi! I mumsnet it up on my iphone, so by the time i've caught up and start to post i forget who i meant to follow up with! I suppose i could take notes, but the truth is it's 8:30 pm so i'm already in bed.

Guavas there is no such thing as unreasonable caution when pregnant and surrounded by germy students!! I am bringing a new jug of hand sanitizer to class tomorrow.

So pleased about all of the good news today! And we're 1-1 for boys-girls, which is lovely! I won't know until 26 feb. :(

Re names: would be a pity to give up your choice just because of a royal coincidence! It's not like every time you meet a harry or a william or an elizabeth you think first of the royal family, right? So stick with your names, mums!! Our names are super-italian so unlikely to conflict, unless bookies waaayyy off!

I am planning to tell colleagues on friday if all goes well at thurs appt, but terrified of telling unpredictanly moody boss. :(

marimama · 15/01/2013 01:59

Can i just add, on the subject of slim kate... She spent weeks puking, poor thing. I'd much prefer to keep my squishy middle than trade places with her poor nauseous slim self. I may feel fat, but also feel lucky i could keep all those cookies down!

emblosion · 15/01/2013 07:00

Very true marimara hg must be awful & I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
