Anyone who has a 3 year old, I totally recommend a combination of buggy board and mini micro scooter - DS1 was 2 and 10 months when DS2 arrived and I slinged DS2 and popped DS1 in the buggy when really tired - otherwise he'd scooter and just hope on the buggy board if tired. Wont have that issue this time around as DS2 will be 4 and is well proficient with scootering by now.

Flying and BadMissM - good luck for today. Thinking of you.

Photographer - sound like good reasons for a move out. I came to London for university 18 years ago and have been steadfastedly refusing to move out but I suspect my time to move out will come at some point.

Tiniest of dusting of snow this morning in our part of NW London - lack of proper snow didnt stop DS1 and DS2 heading out to the back garden at 6.45 for a snow ball fight though Grin Hope those of you who have real snow arent too hampered by it today.

Marimama thanks for info on uppababy car seat. Hope it works with isofix do you know and will it be in the uk? Heard such good reviews about the company.to be honest it works pretty well with the car seat adapters anyway so think I would be hard to convince to get something else now :)

CottonSock · 14/01/2013 11:20

Flying reaLly hope all ok for you scan today.

Thinkingof4 · 14/01/2013 11:33

Good luck today flying hope scan goes well x

magoosmom · 14/01/2013 12:04

Hi all, Notice some of you are mentioning the I Candy, I got one for DS and absolutely love it. I bought it because it can convert to a double however DS will be 22 months when next DC comes along and he looks big in the seat already so don't know if I'll be able to use as a double after all Sad I did loads of research before I bought and so far have been really pleased with it. I live in the countryside with no footpaths and it has great manoeurability over rough terrain and has foam tyres so no punctures Smile and DS loves it!

They've made an announcement that Kate Middleton is officially part of the July Club!

Hi all - hi Kate - flying how are you? Every finger crossed for you.

I had another clear scan today. Massive relief. Next scan at 20 weeks as normal, all looks well. And it's a boy!

Driving home, I dropped DH at work and then was driving through these snowy, beautiful woods near home. Had this overwhelming thought that my baby would be OK and would be with us soon to come and walk in these woods. Had to pull over and had mini-breakdown - could not stop shaking! Part all that suppressed anxiety, part sheer relief. And part hormones I am sure! All this emotion. Only feel I can tell you all because we're all in same boat!

And re buggies I got so confused about it first time round I just gave up and bought the nearest one geographically to me...why is it SO HARD??

wifey6 · 14/01/2013 12:45

OhGood...that's wonderful news!! Wow..a boy!! Congratulations!!
Smile Thanks Envy

OhGood · 14/01/2013 12:48

Thanks wifey! Smile

ArkadyRose · 14/01/2013 13:58

Congratulations, OhGood! Nice to read good news on the thread! Smile

flyingsprocket · 14/01/2013 13:59

Hi ladies, I had a scan at the EPAC at 10am and all is still well. It is such a relief! DP couldn't be there as he's out of the country, friends offered but I decided to go alone. They could offer no explanation for the bleeding except possibly an old cyst. Everything looks clear.

I guess I'll just have to accept that this is normal for me. Don't like having to use sanitary pads though- feels like I'm 13!

I can now believe women who didn't know they were pregnant because for me this feels like a regular period.

Thanks for all your well wishes, it means a lot. Thanks

ohgood wonderful news for you!

McKTastic · 14/01/2013 14:11

Am so glad all is well for you flying. I was due same date as you & had been wondering if i'd put myself before or after you! Had our scan today though & have gained a week Smile

Am still feeling awful Sad can't even walk up our stairs without throwing up.

Gearing up to move house here too although out into rented, 3 months of renovation work then move back in & hopefully get everything as we want it before no.2 joins us.

Thinkingof4 · 14/01/2013 14:14

Great to hear all is well ohgood and flying
mcktastic how far on are you now? Surely not long till you start feeling a bit better I hope

emblosion · 14/01/2013 14:25

great scan news flying and ohgood :)

McKTastic sorry you are feeling crap - not fun to be planning a house move while feeling like that. Hope it eases off soon.

I had my 16 week check today, am under consultant care due to the horror story that was my last labour/birth and so got a bonus scan - great to have another sneaky peak at baby-x :) all looks well. And it looks like Ive got the go ahead for an ELCS if i decide to go down that route, so thats a weight off my mind.

Haven't caught up with the rest of the thread yet but hope everyone else is ok!

wifey6 · 14/01/2013 14:31

Wonderful news to everyone who's had good scans today! Grin

flyingsprocket · 14/01/2013 14:33

McKTastic at least your dilemma is solved but I'm still last on the list! Sorry to hear you're feeling rotten, hopefully it'll be over soon x

TotallyEggFlipped · 14/01/2013 14:37

Great news flying! So glad everything's ok.

TotallyEggFlipped · 14/01/2013 14:39

Is it bad that I'm hoping Kate & Will's baby arrives before mine just so I can avoid using the same name?

BB01 · 14/01/2013 14:44

Brill news for all those who had successful scans!

flyingsprocket, great news! It is such a relief isn't it when you've had a scare like that.
OhGood, wow how exciting you know the gender!!

McKTastic, get well soon!

Hoping that if I keep reading the posts re buggies/prams something will sink in. As it stands I have NO CLUE what we may be looking for. Find it all v v confusing!

dinkystinky · 14/01/2013 15:44

OhGood and Flying - so pleased you had good scans and reassurance today. And same for you Emblosion (and hurrah to your ELCS being approved) and MckTastic.

flying so glad your scan was OK, how worrying that must have been for you. It sounds like you had a far more level headed attitude than I would have done!

Ohgood that's lovely news. Congratulations! I think you're the first of us to find out the gender?

Totally I have had the exact same thoughts about Kate and Will's baby. Our favourite boy's name is quite possibly one they'd go for (not that we have royal aspirations or anything - it was DH's grandad's name). DH is adamant that even if they do have their baby first and pinch our name, we are still using it! My biggest hope therefore is that Kate and I end up having opposite genders to avoid the issue altogether! Somehow I don't think they will be revealing their baby's sex before the event though, unless it gets leaked.

I have to confess all this talk of buggy-buying is making my head spin a little. Even though I'm past 12 weeks now and have absolutely no reason to worry, I can't quite convince myself to make any "real" purchases just yet in case I somehow "jinx" things, and was intending on waiting until we'd got the all clear at 20 weeks. It was hard enough admitting it was time to start looking at larger bras and maternity clothes! Is this normal or are we just going to end up hideously under-prepared?! (I'm not usually a superstitious person at all and like to be as organised as possible so this is very out of character!)

13+1

TotallyEggFlipped · 14/01/2013 17:22

Ama three of the names that are being tipped by the bookies are on my shortlist. I couldn't use the same name DH's family's heads would explode, so really hoping for the opposite sex to make things easier.

CottonSock · 14/01/2013 17:40

1000 to 1 on Waynetta!!!!

photographerlady · 14/01/2013 18:14

Congrats on those with good scans and news the last few dates.

Runswithsquirrels · 14/01/2013 18:20

I've been quiet for a bit as I had a wee bit of bleeding Friday and as I am a negative blood type I had to go to A&E for Anti D... Seven hours later... Anyway to follow this up I was referred for a scan and had to call the hospital if I hadn't heard from them by twelve today. I duly called them and was told the earliest they could see me was Thursday. Cue heightened anxiety. So I googled private scans, called The Birth Centre in Harley Street and an hour later was there having a lovely, thorough, reassurance scan. All was well and they checked as much as they could and also told us the sex... A girl! Feel honoured forumees as no one else is going to find out for a while.
So, peace of mind restored and bank balance lighter I feel a lot happier!
