Glad your scan went well grannyapple and hope everyone else who had them today had good results too. Glad telling your boss went well too photographer - such a relief to get out of the way isn't it?!

Arkady it was good to see your recent post and that you are being well taken care of and feeling positive about the future. It was a horrible thing that happened but as you say the odds are in your favour and hopefully you'll have good news to share soon.

Thanks everyone for the poo-related advice! All very reassuring and anti-straining tips are noted and will tried out over the coming days Grin. Particularly love the "rock and plop" method shiv. Same thing happened today with the bleeding (was less panicked today so managed to have the "strategic dab" someone mentioned and ascertained it's definitely bottom and not baby-related) so need to try and keep things soft and regular and hopefully things will start to heal. Been munching the dried apricots today...

In other news, took the plunge (haha) and finally invested in some new bras today in the M&S sale. They're humungous!! Got a 34E, 32F and 34F (usual size 34DD/32E). Doubt the 34E will fit for long, but it was so pretty I had to buy it. The F cup ones are something else though - honestly I think you could house a couple of small children in there!! No doubt DH will have a chuckle about it when he gets home Wink

Thanks all and ama I'm still waiting for this magical boob growing I keep hearing about. Ready to finally be bigger than a B cup :p

AmaDablam · 11/01/2013 18:50

Aw photographer I think everyone's different in that respect, as with everything else in pregnancy it seems! I did think after I posted that I hope I didn't offend anyone either on the large or small side Hmm, so apologies if I did.

Whilst I am grateful for my curves on the one hand, I did read somewhere that many women go up one size per trimester and another one or two after the birth. If that happens to me I'll be at least a double H by the end Shock. At least I'm still at a size where I can go into any department store and have a reasonable selection at a reasonable price, but I know from a friend who is particularly well endowed that it starts becoming a lot more problematic once you start moving much further up the alphabet. Can you even get maternity bras in those kind of sizes? Confused

photographerlady · 11/01/2013 18:58

Aww I was joking my flat chest will pop out one day :) I will have to eye up M&S for bras when they do

Cutandstick · 11/01/2013 19:09

Anyone else got random hormonal rage? I'm hating most drivers - there's a lot of donkeys on the road... A neighbour who parks too far from the lamppost and causes world of pain for me parking - I ran round tesco after seeing her there to get home before her.... And DP last night for breathing whilst he slept. No big reasons but my God they cause ranting!

Anyway... For stubborn poo.... Reflexology works a treat Smile I'm still smug a week later!

TotallyEggFlipped · 11/01/2013 19:33

photographer I'm almost a B too and my boobs didn't grow at all in my last pregnancy then suddenly I was a generous D overnight when my milk came in. Didn't last for long though and I was a B/C whilst BF but back to a small B by the end. At least I didn't have to keep going bra shopping (until my mum did an emergency M&S trip for feeding bras when the (relative) ginormoboobs arrived). We're all different.

Cutandstick I don't really have random hormonal rage although DH might argue but I really am not suffering fools (DH) well at the moment......

MrsMillions · 11/01/2013 20:57

I'm sat here with my jeans undone as general bloating plus poo baby plus curry is just too much. My extra tummy is much higher up than baby currently is, so can't claim it's a bump, but I've not really put any weight on yet (lack of alcohol calories still offsetting biscuits). Might have to give that rocking a whirl.

Had my MW appointment on Wednesday, think it was booked based on LMP but when scan confirmed later due date, I knew I'd be heading away with work and wanted the appointment before going. Had a student there who was lovely but kept forgetting where to write things. She said they'd try the doppler after feeling my stomach then took ages to find it, even had to go to the toilet to see if it was due to a full bladder but of course on the one occasion I needed to wee, I couldn't! (No problem last night, up too many times.) anyway eventually I did hear the heartbeat, which was fab.

Bloods had come back fine and today my downs screening came back as low risk too so I'm feeling quite happy - especially as it's the weekend and my due date is 6 months today.

Arkady thoughts are with you, I lost 2 before this one and was very pleased I could be utterly selfish afterwards, so I'm glad you're getting help with your DCs and able to focus on yourself.

flyingsprocket · 11/01/2013 22:20

I'm so happy! My scan went well. Just the one, not so wriggly, baby in there. Due date moved by a day but still the last on the list on July 29th

I've seen the pics of people's scans before but I never realised how strange it would be to see our lil baby on the screen Smile

MrsRoss26 · 12/01/2013 09:36

Morning all! Finally had my booking in appointment this week, and completely loved meeting the midwife and being able to rattle through all her questions. Got my scan letter through now too, so bring on the 23rd January! Can't wait to go, though think I may have to go alone as my DH will be in work at that point. Do others go alone??

I still haven't told family - waiting on all the test results from bloods and scan before dropping that bombshell. Is anyone else still waiting? The end of February, when my parents are due a visit, seems a very long time away!

Devilforasideboard · 12/01/2013 10:18

MrsRoss I may have to go alone to the 20 week scan as DH is in the forces so can't always get time off although they were brilliant with letting him have time off for IVF stuff. Luckily the 12 week one was during leave. There seemed to be everything from ladies by themselves to entire extended families in the waiting room so it seems anything goes.

I've come back to bed having thrown up this morning. I can't believe I'm still puking at getting on for 15 weeks! My mother assured me it would magically stop at '12 weeks on the dot' Hmm I love how people assume everyone else will have exactly the same experience as them.

" I love how people assume everyone else will have exactly the same experience as them".

Ah yes, my favourite part of pregnancy/birth/breastfeedung/childrearing/sleep/discipline.... "this is my experience so it must be true of every pregnant woman/baby/child". Smile and nod, smile and nod.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 12/01/2013 11:02

Mrsross I go to all my appointments alone, dp was off for the consultant app on 31st but he waited in the car with the other 2 dc. I'd rather he saved his holidays anyway for when its here.

AmaDablam · 12/01/2013 11:26

Morning all! Glad you had a good scan flying and that things are moving along for you MrsRoss I'm very lucky in that DH works for himself so can easily come with me to appointments but I don't think it's unusual for people to go on their own. When we were waiting to go in for ours there was at least one lady on her own in the waiting room and another who looked like she had come with a friend.

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough devil, hope you're feeling better soon. I can vouch for the fact that it certainly does not stop at 12 weeks on the dot, but I am starting to feel there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Went and had my hair done this morning which was lovely. The went and picked up my "Emma's Diary" free mum to be pack from Argos (there was a voucher in the pack I got from the MW at booking in). I was a bit disappointed as it was mostly stuff for the baby and I thought it would be full of lovely pamper stuff for me! Oh dear that sounds really selfish doesn't it?! It's just that actually having the baby still seems AGES away!

Abzs · 12/01/2013 11:51

Photographer - I am still hoping for the elusive B cup. Thought I might need to go and buy some 32Bs last week, but this week I can't breathe in a 32. I'm back to an old (slightly baggy, but yet comfy) 34AA. Trouble is, I only have one...

flyingsprocket · 12/01/2013 12:50

Just updating the list with my EDD. Still last in the line but at least I'll have all of your wonderful birth announcements to spur me along!

Oh and photographer I was an A too, sometimes almost a B & I've gone up to a C cup. I'm fascinated by my boobs (as is DP at the moment!) I was out riding my bike the other day & chuckling away to myself as the were jiggling around- not something I've experienced before. Must buy some more supportive sports bras.

Grannyapple · 12/01/2013 13:02

MarieKL · 12/01/2013 14:24

Photographer so glad scan and telling work went well. Same for everyone else who has told colleagues too. I'm still putting it off!

MrsRoss with DS we waited until all the results were back until we told anyone including close family. A few even asked as they knew we were trying but I just didn't't want to say anything before. This time round we told close family after 8 wks but we live nearer now.

Flyingsprocket what's the name of your Pilates DVD? I'd love to go to a class but can't seem to find the time and I miss not exercising*

Sorry for long post and any topics I've missed but just catching up after spending most of Thursday and Friday in hospital with DS who had a fit on Thursday pm. I don't think I've ever been so scared but ambulance crew were amazing and thankfully it looks like it was temperature related so all fine now. so glad I did a first aid course when he was born.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

marimama · 12/01/2013 15:29

Hello! I've been semi-lurking these past two weeks, as i got nasty norovirus and getting back to school after holidays was exhausting. Was just feeling better and today i am in bed with vile headache.

Was so sad to see arkady's news. Sad hugs to you!!

Happy to read about others' good scans.

I'm wondering if anyone decided to skip nuchal scan/bloods? I did them with DSbut this time i just don't think i want any possibly-inaccurate news. I feel sure I won't want to do any invasive testing, nor would i terminate a down's pregnancy, for example. On the other hand, i'd love to get another scan in. Smile had mine at 10w, next is at 18w. Hmmm. Thoughts??

marimama · 12/01/2013 15:33

Brw, I am 12w today, with a regular appointment scheduled this Th where i hope at least i can check heartbeat and maybe persuade dr to do quick peek on crappy in-office scanner. I guess i just feel i need confirmation that all is ok before i tell world--and don't want to have to nuchal scan to do so..

Devilforasideboard · 12/01/2013 16:36

I skipped the NT/bloods. I wouldn't have had an amnio plus am 35 so figured my risk would be high anyway. We took the approach that as we wouldn't terminate just because of Downs we'd rather wait and see if any serious problems are picked up at the 20 week scan. I had a scan at 9 weeks as this is an IVF baby and told quite a few people after that as the risks didn't seem to change much between then and 12 weeks. I did still have the 12 week scan but as they won't change the due date because of the IVF and I didn't want the test it was just a five minute look at the baby.

flyingsprocket · 12/01/2013 17:33

MarieKL glad to hear your son's ok, that must have been stressful. It's 10 Minute Solutions- Prenatal Pilates.

I just googled it & found it for £4 in sainsburys. Sorry I can't do fancy links!

flyingsprocket · 12/01/2013 17:34

Oh I can! DVD

BadMissM · 12/01/2013 19:40

I'm just praying it doesn't snow too much, as have to go to London on Monday for a Nuchal Scan and the results of the Harmony Test I had 2 weeks ago....

Was something I decided to do because of my age, and luckily I did as our PCT offer nothing but a blood test at 20 weeks....

TotallyEggFlipped · 12/01/2013 19:41

marimama we didn't have the NT/bloods. We reasoned that we wouldn't have any invasive tests due to the risk of miscarriage and wouldn't terminate a pregnancy for trisomy 21, so being told we were high risk would just add unnecessary stress. Also, I don't think the pick up rate for Patau's is very good (50%???), so figured we'd wait got the anomaly scan.
