Hello hello!
16 week MW appointment mainly involves checking blood and urine, possibly weighing, and talking about results of booking bloods if needed. Listening to the baby's heart with doppler is no longer on the NICE guideline for 16 weeks, but your midwife might do it (if you beg).
I told work this week which went really well. They were so nice I wanted to cry! although that is not an infrequent occurrence these days. I'm really not sure when I should plan to start maternity leave. My job is stressful, involving being on my feet for 12h shifts, nights and weekends and has a 50min commute each way. But I love it and really want to work for as long as I can... it's a tricky one.
Still no sign of a bump yet, although a little 'thick' around the middle and in my 'fat trousers' - could quite easily pass it off as post-Christmas bulge!!
