Happy 2013 one and all!

MrsMillions I'd do the later course to meet people with a closer due date, but ask to join in the BF sessions from another group.

We signed up for the NCT classes last time, but ended up having DD on the night of the first class, so missed out completely!

Supershiv1 · 08/01/2013 21:03

Ahh fibroids symroids. Will call the midwife tomorrow. Just the poor thing looked totally squashed today.
BadmissM - yes mine was really crappy (and squashy) today too. Quite glad I have the breakdancing one from Thursday.
Most concerned about the extra chopped liver bleeding from last night and my discharge on wiping that has now been going on since 27th Dec and no one seems to know why.
Will be OK. Thanks

mysterymeg · 08/01/2013 21:18

BadMissM my trust doesn't do NT either - Gloucestershire.

Scan today went well. Matched dates from last scan exactly so edd confirmed as 12 July. Met consultant for first time too and he was great - outlined my extra testing and plan for the pregnancy (kidney issues). Feels more official now.

13 + 4

dinkystinky · 08/01/2013 21:46

Right Cumbria and Gloucestershire on my no-no list! BadmissM - antenatal care in the UK is a lot better than your local PCT usually...

How's this for timing - I just started bleeding, & my scan is booked for 9:50am tomorrow morning. S at least I should get reassurance quite quickly. It's not heavy - mostly brown, stringy rather than clots. I'd guess it's just old blood being dislodged as the uterus lifts up over the pubic bone and nothing to worry about; I'm not cramping really - just the same twinges I've been getting the past week. It'll be good to see little one moving on the screen though.

12 weeks tomorrow.

mysterymeg · 08/01/2013 22:40

I'm sure it''ll be fine Arkady - just extra reassurance. I had the same at 9 weeks but it's hard not to panic. Seeing little one will help though I'm sure Smile

BadMissM · 09/01/2013 02:31

dinkystinky You'll end up never moving...!

photographerlady · 09/01/2013 05:56

ArkadyRose and everyone else good luck with your scans today. Mines at 9:30 as well and have been up since 5 too nervous to go back to sleep.

Still tender and sore all around my stomach but hoping to rush home after work tonight and sleep it off.

AmaDablam · 09/01/2013 06:23

Eeeeeek! It's scan day!!!! Good luck Arkady, photographer and all other fellow scanees. We're keeping those sonographers busy today. Let's hope it's good news all round Smile.

Mine's at 2.10 - still 8 whole hours away (not that I'm counting or anything!), but at least I have a busy morning at work to hopefully take my mind off it, and don't have to go back afterwards.

Photographer I had terrible stomach ache in the night too - not sure if it was nerves, the rather greasy pasta dish I had last night, baby-related or a combination of all...

supershiv really sorry to hear you've had more bleeding and your scan results were more complex than hoped. I hope you get to speak to someone today and everything comes right for you in the end.

12+3

ArkadyRose · 09/01/2013 07:19

I had terrible insomnia last night - didn't drop off until somewhere around 5. Still bleeding this morning. OH is coming with me, thankfully, so I'm not doing the school run & trip up to the hospital on my own. Good luck to my fellow scannees!

TotallyEggFlipped · 09/01/2013 07:39

Good luck everyone having scans today.

wifey6 · 09/01/2013 07:54

Wishing everyone luck for their scans today..eeekkk...very exciting.
For those experiencing pain/bleeding..I hope this brings reassurance & that all is well.

MightBeMad · 09/01/2013 08:38

Morning all!

Really good luck to all the scanees today! I hope you all get lots of reassurance.

Arkady sorry to hear you're having a bit of a scare but hopefully the scan will put your mind at rest. Glad dh is able to help this morning.

Shiv I have also been bleeding pretty much all the time since about 7 wks. Brown, ranging from spotting blood to brown discharge (sorry if tmi Blush ). I gave mentioned it to everyone I've seen: gp, midwife, two sonographers and a consultant obstetrician and none of them have been remotely worried. No cause has been identified but I had exactly the same with my dd (who is totally fine) and was just told that "some women bleed in pregnancy". It's more a case of no news is good news - if they can't see an obvious cause for the blood then it is just 'normal' for you in pg. it is very anxiety inducing though. Second time round is not quite so scary, if that's any consolation?!

thinkingpositivethoughts · 09/01/2013 08:47

Good luck on all the scanees today hope they bring you the relief I know feel!- had mine yesterday and now so excited, filled the whole day afterwards with telling people when I should have been working from home!

I was so worried beforehand that it feels like I've only just found out! DH said he didn't sleep at all last night, he was just looking at the picture for ages!

Feel like I can start planning now...

BadMissM · 09/01/2013 08:51

Good luck Arkady and all the other scanees today! Smile

Arkady That insomnia must be infectious...didn't get to sleep until 5, and had to be up for stupid delivery that COULD arrive between 8.00 and 12.00...grrr!

BB01 · 09/01/2013 09:03

Best of luck to all those getting scanned today. Keep us updated!

It's so horrible bleeding even if you're told it's nothing to worry about or probably nothing. I'm still getting it on and off and every time it makes my heart race. But it sounds like it's a lot more common than people think. I mentioned it to my mum half thinking I'd shouldn't as she'd panic so much but she just said 'oh yes I had that too about the same time'.

Thanks all for the info re second scans - will try to track down the scanning dept number. Don't seem to have much luck getting through to anybody and it usually seems to be as I have the wrong no. Thanks also for info on private flu jab but to be surprise the doctor's called yesterday to say they'd tracked down one shot of it which has my name on it :-) so off to try again today!

dinkystinky · 09/01/2013 09:21

Bleeding in pregnancy is surprisingly common BB01 but its not something you ever get told about in advance. Good luck to all those being scanned today and I hope those of you suffering from bleeds get reassurance all is ok today. Good luck with your fourth attempt on your flu jab BB01...

Hope scans went well!

Just out of mine, new due date of July 15th. Little bean would not get off their belly. Lots of coughing and rolling on sides but about ten minutes in all they wanted to do was stare straight at the sonogram heehee. Feel like all the stress has drained from my body.

OhGood · 09/01/2013 09:51

Shiv it's horrible being left with more questions than answers. Let us know what your midwife or GP says. Is this your first DC? Wondering if fibroids have developed between DCs (know nothing about it though must google.) Go easy on yourself - and same to BB and Arkady and everyone else in uncertain times.

I am working round the clock at the moment. We have these daily project meetings and I can feel my stress levels rocket during every one. I think I better start meditating or something. Or book a holiday! Just waiting to get thorugh next scan on Monday - hoping to get the all-clear for the bean...

MightBeMad · 09/01/2013 10:16

Yey photographer - congratulations!!

flyingsprocket · 09/01/2013 10:20

Good luck to all with scans, great to hear yours went well photographer

I woke up today thinking it was scan day (boo it's not Friday yet) bit unfortunately it's Wednesday & I've got to face the 120 mile round trip to work- Bleurgh.

ArkadyRose · 09/01/2013 10:32

Just had scan, doesn't look good. Fetal pole only 2-3mm, no heartbeat. Currently waiting to be seen at EPAU - horrendous cramps have started & I'm absolutely flooding. Sad

MightBeMad · 09/01/2013 10:39

Oh arkady I'm so, so sorry Sad I hope that they are kind to you at EPAU and can give you some painkillers to make this horrible experience a bit less physically painful. Huge hus to you x

Persuasion · 09/01/2013 10:40

Oh no arkady I'm so sorry. Hope you've got some RL support?

BB01 · 09/01/2013 10:43

ArkadyRose, I am so sorry to hear that. Can't imagine what you're going through. Please look after yourself. Massive hugs and thinking of you.
