Shagged Out Viroids 6th Thread! From Early Days to Ready To Pop - Proof that JSing really does work!

WingDefence · 06/12/2012 17:24

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members Grin

We've just moved over from the Shagged Out Viroids Volume 5 thread, where we finally found out that a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!
The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread Confused Grin

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 12th thread Thanks

Oh something hope you're ok, keeping fx for you

wavesandsmiles · 07/01/2013 20:21

Another one keeping my fx for you something - glad you are being looked after

Dysgu · 07/01/2013 20:50

Hoping everything is alright something and that whatever needs to be done is done quickly and that everything is sorted soon.

I too had protein in my urine sample at the MW before. That has never happened before... but I am already booked in for a GTT next week due to my age.

MW also agreed to 'suggest' that aqua natal classes would be useful so I just need to find some that are actually running - the pool where I thought they were is still closed for renovations.

I have also been updating our calendar (although am on the lookout for a new one in the sales as we really need one with 6 columns) and I have 7 weeks to work and 6 appointments already booked in that will require my bosses to sort cover (and that is without me taking time off for the aquanatal classes if I find some).

I forgot to mention antenatal classes to the MW - I am only 24+5 so should have time to fit them in if I speak to her next time, shouldn't I? I am seeing her at 28 weeks and will then move to fortnightly appointments if all things seem ok.

Still got fingers crossed for you something

somethingwittynot · 07/01/2013 20:59

Thanks for your concerns i had no protein in my urine so there not overly concerned
.i just have to put up with the pain wich is so bad its making me think about elcs!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 07/01/2013 21:17

Oh something, 'glad' it's just serious pain & not something worse.
Are you ok about having an elcs?
I know you really wanted a vbac...will you try again with your next pregnancy?
Hope DP is looking after you!

Dysgu, good luck finding an aquanatal class! My local (council run) swimming pool is utter shite when it comes to timetables (on the website they've got their summer 2012 programme) so might have to try that.
No idea about the antenatal classes (didn't do them last time, won't again), but on another thread someone mentioned their locals ones aren't 'open' to women until 30wks so you've probably got time left.

12wk scan booked in for 13+4, so a month away!
Going to book in for a late welfare private scan at 34+, DS stopped moving twice & I'm so worried about it happening again that knowing there's nothing wrong will help reassure me.
something, I had my 6wk scan at Kent Medical Imaging, they were fantastic, thanks for the recommendation!

Hope everyone is well.

somethingwittynot · 07/01/2013 21:28

Glad you enjoyed your scan!

Well im not deffo having an elcs im purley considering it because of the pain. Im desperate for a vbac so will probably just stick to that. Just keep telling myself 8 weeks left at the max as im only allowed to go to 41 weeks. Will have a chat about elcs with my mw tomorrow

WingDefence · 07/01/2013 21:34

So glad you're okay something!

I looked up aqua natal classes but they are only on a Tuesday lunchtime and that'd be too much time out from work, enough to put me off. The antenatal classes I'm going to attend are in a Friday afternoon 2-4 and that'll be nice enough (lazy Friday afternoons hurrah) :)

Glad you are okay something take it easy if you can?!

Kittenkatzen · 08/01/2013 07:29

Glad you're ok something!

somethingwittynot · 08/01/2013 09:06

Random question but does anyone know if you can get anywhere on the council housing list if your partner works? Were renting privately and cant afford it unless i can find somewhere £100 cheaper or closer to DPs work wich will never happen as i cant pay london prices!

WingDefence · 08/01/2013 11:48

No idea I'm afraid something!

How's your head today?

OP posts:
GaryBuseysTeeth · 08/01/2013 12:28

something, I think any can apply for council housing, it just depends on what your local area lists are like...you may find that you're low-ish on the list & it takes a few years to get somewhere.
Have you cut back in areas you can afford to?
We've recently cut down our spending & started budgeting more as DH is looking at changing careers.

somethingwittynot · 08/01/2013 13:55

Heads pretty much the same! Dosed up on painkillers and off to see the mw at 4.
Yeah we have cutback on everything non essential

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 08/01/2013 15:01

Hello all. Sorry I've been off the radar a bit recently... been massively busy since the end of the Christmas break and I haven't even started teaching again yet.

I will catch up on the 2 pages of posts (you lot have been chatty!) this evening but I am actually posting to ask a favour ...

I'm sure most of you already know ... but I am doing a sociology PhD at the moment and I am trying to complete my research fieldwork. I have tried a number of different methods of data generation/gathering and none of them seem to be quite right. So, in a last attempt at finding a research method that generates the kind of data I would like, I have designed a qualitative questionnaire. I just wondered if any of you lovely ladies would be prepared to fill it in and give me feedback on it please? The sorts of things I would like to know are:

  1. How long does it take to fill in?
  2. Are the questions straightforward to understand?
  3. Did you feel able to answer all the questions and why/why not?

I don't need detailed feedback, I just need somebody (or bodies!) who isn't me and DH (and doesn't already know my research) to fill it in and let me know what they think. If you don't mind helping me out with this then if you PM me your email address I will email you the questionnaire. I will also be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL and send you lots of virtual Thanks and decaff Brew !

The questionnaire is asking for your opinions about love by the way.

WingDefence · 08/01/2013 15:12

something hope the MW appt goes well.

Guinea, have you got my email address already? Happy to help (hot long do you expect it to take?).

OP posts:
ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 08/01/2013 15:22

Hi Wing. Thank you - I have emailed it to you. I am hoping it will take no more than 20 mins but so far no one independent has filled it in so I'm honestly not sure Confused

ICompletelyKnowAboutGuineaPigs · 08/01/2013 15:28

Wing ... I also emailed it to myself to have a look at and it seems to have gone very wrong! Ignore this version - I'll have a pootle (technical research term!) and email you another copy when it's right.

Kittenkatzen · 08/01/2013 15:40

Hey guinea I'm happy to give it a whirl if you like....am on phone so can't pm right now but drop me a pm to remind me or I'll do it when I get a chance to log on properly Smile

tiredteddy · 08/01/2013 19:33

I'll do it too if your need another person too guinea

I'm SO tired. Baby is 3/5 engaged and really putting pressure on my bladder to the point where I have to stand still and stop walking. It really hurts. This baby better not be late as I will never manage!

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 08/01/2013 21:20

Struggling to keep up with the thread as usual Smile

something if you have made cut backs/ created a budget for the months ahead and can see you can't afford your rental there are options available to you. Don't let yourself get in the arrears, act first. If you approach your housing department of the local council you can tell them you are concerned about not being able to pay rent and becoming homeless. Get your name put on the council list. They should offer you financial assistance in the mean time. If you became homeless due to eviction and your partner works they put you in temporary accommodation. This is very expensive and can work out worse than when you started out. The key is to getting assistance early. Not sure if its the same in England, but your citizens advice should also be helpful and sort you out with forms for housing association accommodation. Hope this helps and doesn't sound too dramatic. Unfortunately, I know someone who got in arrears and ended up in a right mess as they buried their head in the sand.

17 weeks here and looking like I have a basket ball up my top Grin. Nothing to report really, just trying to keep ds entertained and busy. Today was a good parenting day. Does anyone else love it when naps are perfect, all meals are eaten, the day is filled with laughter, bedtime is easy and somehow the house isn't a mess? I'm sure this is how I envisaged every day as a parent SmileWink

Dysgu · 08/01/2013 22:37

CCCH that sounds like a lovely day of parenting. It IS lovely when everything seems to go so smoothly - long may it continue for you.

tiredteddy how much longer do you have to go?

guinea I also sent you a PM with my email address if you need any more feedback on your questionnaire.

Well, I had another bonus of being pregnant today. We are waiting for the phone call from Ofsted and in a constant state of alert at the school where I work. The Head has decided on yet another round of internal observations - this will be the third round since last Easter so has to be the last ones until this coming Easter - but she told me that I do not need to be included as it is simply stress and pressure that I don't need at this point. I am perfectly fine with being observed - I teach such classes that I am many extra adults in the room with me all the time anyway - but am not going to argue with her as it gets me out of having to write individual lesson plans for every lesson over two days Grin

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

tiredteddy · 08/01/2013 22:41

Hi curiously you day does sound rather lovely. It's so nice when that happens isn't it Smile

dsygu 10 days to go until due date. Def getting a lot of pressure, Brixton hix and some other tmi symptoms that it shouldn't be too long. I've well and truly nested (am naturally messy and disorganised and house is slick and span and ready for a new addition). I hope Ofsted don't darken your doors until you are on mat leave Grin!

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 09/01/2013 07:05

Dsygu your head teacher sounds amazing. My old head (female) was not sympathetic to anything pregnancy at all. One notable example was during a meeting that had swine flu on the agenda. Discussed emergency cover etc. Then summed up by saying hopefully most of the staff would get it during the holidays to minimise disruption Shock

WingDefence · 09/01/2013 09:23

Wow tired, you could really pop any day Grin

I'm on the train down to London for lots of meetings, all internal thankfully so no rushing around and one of the meetings is doing my objectives for 2013, which my boss is doing over lunch somewhere! Looking forward to a nice pizza or something :) In light of the discussion above, isn't it move to have thoughtful bosses?

Has anyone seen The Hobbit? I've booked for DH and I to see it on Friday night when we're on our dirty weekend little break in Liverpool. I may even have promised DH some lovely morning JSing too as it's been a couple of weeks, poor thing! Wink

Right, better get on with the work I'm trying to do. Hope you all have fab days.
