Stacey think my internal thermostat has failed! I haven't had my heating on at all today. God help me in the hospital where they heat to tropical temperatures.

Friends who've had babies recently have said to me that while they got less sleep with a newborn, the quality of the sleep was much better as they weren't so bloody uncomfortable Xmas Grin. This may be wishful thinking on my part!

I can't complain really, I've done about 5 days of really good (for pregnancy) nights sleeps. Least I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

Anything you can do Hormonal? A bounce on your ball perhaps to reposition/soothe him/her to sleep?

Hormonalhell · 06/12/2012 03:14

I haven't got a ball willyule wish id bought one now

Yes I reckon it be different tiredness once we have our bubz in our arms, worth it Smile

pmgkt · 06/12/2012 03:16

Don't drink milk for heartburn, it makes it worse. Cool water sipping here

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/12/2012 03:22

I couldn't have my heating off, but then again we did have snow so it's pretty cold lol.

God I wish I could sleep!

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 06/12/2012 03:24

Right I'm off to bed to try again. I just feel bad tossing and turning in there as DP is up for work in 2 hours Xmas Sad

pmgkt · 06/12/2012 03:25

My heating is set to 13 and it keeps kicking in, I hate the noise as it wakes me up but can't go much lower at night with ds1 can i? What do others do

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/12/2012 03:40

As I say mine is screwed, I'm lucky if I can get it to stay on for a few hours each day tbh. lol

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 04:03

Thanks, will keep you updated if it happens slowly.

Clarella how are you feeling? Have you had any twinges at all? My last labour I had pretty much nothing but after the first pessaries It only took a few hours. I hope it's the same for both of us!!!

The cervix thing is really painful! I don't remember this at all last time! I hope it is the baby trying to claw her way out tbh. Wide awake and recorded masterchef from last night so I might treat myself now!

Hormonalhell · 06/12/2012 04:32

Just read your earlier post about being induced tomorrow, good luck strawberry wish it twas me Envy

Hormonalhell · 06/12/2012 04:33

I too have the cervix pain and had it a couple of weeks now

Clarella · 06/12/2012 04:54

I must be hormonal - got so upset again last night over this 'choice' which I'm not sure is a choice as I reckon it's inevitable either Mon or Fri! you just get these views 'avoid induction'

No twinges i think cervix mega posterior still.but can see mw in am .... just think it's spoiling my time.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 04:57

So strawb last time you just went in for induction with nothing happening prior to that?

Flumpy2012 · 06/12/2012 05:25

Hello everyone. Been following you all but just not posting, congrats to all who've had their babies :-)

I have too! Baby Emily was born 5.12.12 weighing 5lb6.5 and is just perfect :-)

Xx

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 05:34

Ahh flumpy congratulations. Excellent name choice too Grin

I had a couple of pains that day clarella but nothing more than one or two and my cervix was behind dd's head so absolutely nothing had happened. I went into full labour after around 4 hours (of sleeping) and it then took 4 1/2 hours until she was born.

I'd never heard of people avoiding induction then so it just seemed like the thing to do as my midwife told me that was what was to happen. This time I happily accepted an induction before the 2 weeks is up because of the strain I think my body went through in the last 2 weeks was more than the whole of the rest of the pregnancy. I'm not sure if I've made the right choice!?

Could you book in for Friday and change your mind if you can't face it?

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 06/12/2012 05:45

Congratulations flumpy

Clarella · 06/12/2012 05:52

Strawberry I think that is what I needed to read! Thankyou!

I will in reality be +11 on Friday, nothing's happening despite bhs etc. It's been the nct pro natural stuff and s couple of friends who did it naturally saying wait. It brought back earlier anxiety over all the slapped cheek carry on - other people's views confusing me. We have to do what's right for us but tbh it could happen naturally but not progress needing further induction anyway in the space of 3 days. If I go to drip I'm getting an epidural no qs. I think you have made the right choice for you x

Clarella · 06/12/2012 05:54

Ah congratulations flumpy!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 06/12/2012 06:29

Congratulations flumpy Thanks

Clarella, 99% of advice is bullshit, a successful pregnancy ends with a baby and how s/he arrives is supremely unimportant. Do what you have to to meet you baby!

2blessed · 06/12/2012 06:48

Congrats flumpy

hormonal after my last post I got up and pottered around for a bit, bounced on my ball and then headed back to bed. LO let me sleep but im on the uncomfortable sofa bed until I get new bed. Would have stayed at dp's or dm's but pushchair may come this morning, or not...
The 4am club was busy today Wink
I agree that the sleep we get once our lo's arrive will be different, less physically uncomdortable FX! Tired of having to hoist myself up onto all fours to change sleeping position.

Clarella · 06/12/2012 07:30

Well said as always pidj!

Ill shut up now Grin Dh ready to string me up Hmm

All the very best strawberry!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/12/2012 08:12

Clarella Totally agree with pidj and I'd go for Friday!

Congrats pru and flumpy another dinky one so cute! Thanks Wine Thanks

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/12/2012 08:41

Just on way to hospital, feeling quite nervous sick! Traffic everywhere!!!!!

It's true it doesn't matter what anyone else says it matters what is right for you. Don't not talk about it, totally understand where you're coming from.

brooke89 · 06/12/2012 08:48

Congrats flumpy Thanks

Don't shut up clarella if its worrying you - I think you'll be fine on Friday Smile
