StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/12/2012 12:32

Ellie, for expressing I find it best just after a bath, laying in bed, and I have to be warm. Don't feel despondent I never even leaked with dd or ds.

ivanapoo · 05/12/2012 12:35

clarella if I were you I'd prob wait till Monday too to give myself a few more days but hard to know what's right not being in your situation.

cherrypie good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

Clarella · 05/12/2012 12:51

I'm quite happy to kick about for a few more days as actually not that uncomfy ( think baby pretty squashed though) but have been feeling a bit complacent and after discussing with nct girl who works as anesthetist at hospital she felt a couple of days sooner would mean less rushing at the hospital. I know it could happen over wknd anyway but if that's going to be case I'll be on my way already plus set up in hospital at wknd. Plus gives head start into paternity leave for dh.

Sorry it's a bit me me me I'm just getting my head round it!

It's chucking down snow here!

Clarella · 05/12/2012 12:57

Ah sorry I had missed that cherry I'm sorry to bang on about this when it doesn't sound like you have an option. I guess we are all aiming for healthy babies but the route thereIs so frustrating I hope all goes well with you xx

EggNogMichelle · 05/12/2012 13:12

Clarella the snow is another factor, if your gritters are as useless as mine, I would prefer to be in hospital before labour starts than having DH panic driving across ice and through snow (and we can never get our cars off the drive when it snows!)

CODwidow · 05/12/2012 13:29

clarella I think if it means hospital will be slighty quieter I'd probably go for then and in all honesty it is only a couple of days but induction also worries me slighty so I can understand your reluctance, good luck with whatever decision you make.

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 05/12/2012 13:32

Is anyone finding themselves irrationally Xmas Angry these days? I went shopping with DP Monday and yesterday and nearly beat an old lady in a motobility scooter to death (she hit me with it twice, there was to be no third time). I cannot get a lamp I like anywhere for the nursery and mentioned that I might go to Ikea. DP vetoed it as he said he didn't want to get a call to bail me out for fighting Xmas Grin

Clarella · 05/12/2012 13:48

Grr spoke to mw who seemed to think leave it but most people want it out asap! She's said she can do an exam tomorrow am and then decide though I still think either way I won't know what to do!

yuletopian99 · 05/12/2012 14:04

clarella if I was you I'd probably want sooner rather than later just cause the more I'm forced to wait the more anxious I get..

fandango I get irrationally angry at myself for being so damn clumsy these days, and not being able to get into the car properly! Not even due till the 15th but would be happy with him coming any time now..

On a rather morbid note, (sorry) what are people doing about wills? This is our first, so need to change to allow provision for the LO if something ghastly happens to both of us.

CODwidow · 05/12/2012 14:10

fandango I had a few days like that last week but it's passed now. I was a nightmare to be around and found myself apologising to the dcs and dh all the time as I just had no patience. It's them darn hormones again!

brooke89 · 05/12/2012 14:25

Back from DAU - they did a trace and LOs heart accelerations were good but still didnt feel any movement so they referred me to have a scan to check fluid around baby. All was ok - baby was pouting I'm now convinced its a girl! SmileFeel much better from going up and just have to keep an eye on movements.

fandango I'm the same - I have been getting horrendous road rage. DP has now banned me from driving.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 05/12/2012 14:33

I was the same about the road rage up till i gave a friend a lift somewhere and she agreed - it really was everybody else!!

Took R out in the sling and yet again ended up plugging the local sling meet Xmas Blush this time to the nice girl serving me in Boots who's due in April. I'm a liability, worse than the lonely old people on park benches!

Cookiesandcoffee · 05/12/2012 14:36

Ahh trying to catch up!
kate all sounds great, your turn is imminent Smile
clarella I guess only you can make the decision but if it were me I would go for Friday (my friend recently had an induction and from start to finish labour was 6hrs from arriving to induction) only gas and air and no stitches. I guess it's made me less afraid of induction. I don't know how bad the weather is with you up there (my car wasn't even iced up this morning!) but do whatever makes you the most calm.

blessed I hope to on its way, would be Angry too. Mine is at Mil and she's been playing with it and I've not seen it in the flesh yet. Grr. Any sign of another van yet?.
Good luck mamapo
friend was it much higher ? ,mine has gone up (the top number) she said its usually down to anxiety or being v emotional, took it 3 times and said it was coming down .. Did they check it again?
Hope all is going well with the monitoring brooke I had very few movements yesterday I was offered monitoring today but turned it down as LO was really active and even the doc could see my belly going crazy.

Right so had a sweep today .. Have never had one before, and only got one as I'm so huge (39wks).. What was it like for you clarella? Ie bleeding after etc? Sorry for tmi but just had a huge chunk of bloody mucus and still bleeding since this morning. Crampy but then I had bad periods so nothing new for me. Currently 2cm but still posterior cervix? (We want it forward don't we ?!) anyone that I know who's had one has had no success at all but consultant seemed optermistic?

kate2boysandabump · 05/12/2012 14:39

Back from hospital, had bloods, monitoring and BP checks. Everything is all fine and I paid £5.40 for the privilige!!

I have to go back to DAU for a BP check on Friday, although I had another sweep this morning so who knows? I'm bouncing on my ball madly to try and get it going.

Clarella How bad is the snow? We have the same dilemma, can;t get out of our road in the snow, but the roads are usually well gritted. However, no snow here at the moment, but freezing cold. Have you made a decision yet?

Stacey I can't believe you've had a wax. I'm in awe of your bravery at this stage.

kate2boysandabump · 05/12/2012 14:43

Cookies The mucous is your plug coming away. Some bleeding is normal, but if you are worried phone your midwife.

I had 2 sweeps with the first 2 that worked in 24 hours or less. Probably why I'm so grumpy this time round as nothing doing.

Clarella · 05/12/2012 15:05

Cookies that sounds a really good sweep - mine produced nothing and I couldn't even say it was that painful really! They're good to find out state of cervix imo. So 2cm is progress and labour will get the rest going down. (I now know a lot about cervixes!)

Actually, snow pretty deep good 2 or 3 cm just today but it's the nighttime freeze that will bugger it up. 2 years ago newcastle was totally closed down due to continuous snow for 3 weeks in Nov but a small amount plus freezing is enough to cause issues as infrastructure is never ready. And we did actually get blocked in our drive last time! It was fine in the peak district where I grew up as they were used to it! It should be fine where I live to hospital though and I could walk.

Well just some odd tougher tightening in last hour but could be lunch. And wind. Manically hand washed the last of a load of wool stuff in the bath (why the fuck do I like wool so much? It's a bloody pest to clean) and realised lots of baths and cocobutter = grimey bath so off to clean that.

I'll get mw to check me tomorrow and I'm sure she'll sweep me again while she's at it.

That's good news Brooke and hope you get going soon Kate - bulging sounds positive!!!

makes me realise birth plans are akin to fairy tales

SpottyTeacakes · 05/12/2012 15:26

Argh we have a bad latch. And I don't like the nurse on today.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 05/12/2012 15:28

I know it comes in rainbow colours, but dynorod van orange poo? Really?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 05/12/2012 15:30

Spotty, use your finger in the side of his mouth to break the seal then try again. Are you across the body or rugby ball?

Clarella · 05/12/2012 15:31

Lol what you been eating pidj!?!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 05/12/2012 15:37

Looks like exclusively carrots Xmas Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 05/12/2012 15:37

Across the body. I just find the whole thing really awkward especially with a big tube up his nose! I had the lipstick shaped nipple Confused

2blessed · 05/12/2012 15:52

Have been assured that pram will be here today.
I know I have been an absolute nightmare this week what with delivery madness and bed breaking. Ordered a dining table and they can't tell me when it will be delivered only that "when you order something you should prioritiseb your life love to make sure you're in to receive it" Xmas Angry. No wonder my bp is high!
I just want to curl up and have a good cry in the bed that I don't have... Sorry ladies

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 05/12/2012 15:53

I latch with the opposite arm then transfer his weight to the matching one iyswim, resting his head in the crook of my elbow. Then lean back so his weight is on my tummy flabby and soft tummy to tummy. I like having an arm free for mning and drinking tea! Get them to show you the rugby ball one, i use it if he's fussing but find it a faff because i need a cushion under my arm or i get pins and needles. Works brilliantly for a lot of people, though :)

PrunellaDeVille · 05/12/2012 16:42
